We always hear from gun control fanatics that 'an overwhelming majority' of people want X laws to be passed.

Americans have shifted to a more pro-gun view on gun laws, particularly in recent years, with record-low support for a ban on handguns, an assault rifle ban, and stricter gun laws in general. This is the case even as high-profile incidents of gun violence continue in the United States, such as the January shootings at a meeting for U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona.

And this isn't due to the big scary NRA buying off politicians, this has to do w/ people like you and me taking others out to shoot and showing them the truth. Resulting in popular shows like 'Sons of Guns' and 'TopShot'. And as groups like the Brady Campaign, VPC and CSGV lose ground, their remaining supporters become even more fanatical and frothing at the mouth, costing them even more support.

That dustbin is going to need to be dumped soon.

Ladd Everitt on the fact that an expensive licensing system disproportionally issues to Caucasians:

So in New York, North Carolina, Chicago and every else they have expensive, restrictive and/or arbitrary firearm licensing systems, his argument is that African-Americans just don't want guns sometimes to the point of zero.

@CSGV's Ladd Everitt's Violent Assault on Strawmen

Trying to create more strawmen when shown his other arguments are strawmen Ladd Everitt claims:

Outside of the fact that even courts recognized that historical gun control laws 'weren't meant to be applied to whites', one wonders where Ladd got the idea that firearm rights advocates "got a hold of Winkler’s “racist” argument and ran with it" since the facts have been becoming more apparent for years. Perhaps it was Winkler that got a hold of the information and ran w/ it? There's also the Chicago Chief of Police stating that Federal gun control laws 'facilitate the flow of illegal firearms into our urban centers, across this country, that are killing black and brown children,' . No mention of that though.

But that would hurt Ladd's belief that pro-rights advocates are nothing more than knuckle-draggers who don't have any thoughts beyond what the NRA tells us.

So IOW, Ladd (falsley) claims that we're holding Winkler up as some sort of pro-gun hero while at the same time deliberately misconstruing Winkler's arguments and dismissing them as 'nuanced and flimsy'.

Libelous Ladd strikes again.

And if DOOT is one of the 'darkest corners of the intenet' (a favorite dismissal of his), what does that make them? Over ten hours since his post was put up and not a single hit from it.

Has anyone else noticed that the majority of posts/tweets by 'gun control' groups have become little more than pleas to keep pro-gun bills from passing and 'police blotters' trying to imply anecdotes = data?

@CSGV Defends Violent Criminals

No mention that this poor defenseless 'purse snatcher'(a habitual criminal) violently beat (with a gun) the woman he stole from. Instead, the CSGV lambasts the person who protected her and society, calling it an 'execution'. Another 'victim of gun violence'.

To them it's better that she be robbed an beaten than defend herself (or be defended with) a gun. Are there any depths these people won't go to to try and demonize firearm owners?

Tin Pot Dictators at #OWS

They're creating their own little fiefdoms and guarding them jealously.

The Finance Committee dives on whatever dollars are raised by all the OWS working groups, said Smith, and doesn’t give it back.

They've created a ridiculous bureaucracy:

“The other day, I took in $2,000. I kept $650 for my group, and gave the rest to Finance. Then I went to them with a request -- so many people need things, and they should not be going without basic comfort items -- and I was told to fill out paperwork. Paperwork! Are they the government now?” Smith fumed,..

..“We (the finance committee) don’t have the power for that. They have to go to the General Assembly. If it’s approved, we pay out that amount and make sure everything is accounted for,” he said.

I wonder how their 'report' will mesh w/ the reality of the finances? And who's going to keep all the money when the OWS fizzles out?

Who would have thought that large amounts of money and a mixed collection of protestors, anarchists, socialists, etc. would be problematic?

More Racism and Gun Control

Sebastian puts up a video of CSGV's Ladd Everitt misrepresenting Adam Winkler's stance on racism and gun control. I'll agree that gun control advocates aren't 'necessarily' racist but the history of gun control is inherently racist, deliberately written to disarm Blacks, Indians, Eastern/Southern Europeans, etc. To deny this is to deny history.

Many modern gun control schemes may not be De jure racist or discriminatory but they have the effect of being De facto. For example:

The Chicago Public Housing Authority bans firearms entirely in their residences. Residences that are primarily held by minorities.

'May Issue' laws in the various states rarely issue permits to those not wealthy and/or politically connected leading to discrimination against the poor and minorities.

'Safe Storage' laws require arbitrary and expensive set-ups to keep in compliance w/ the laws, putting ownership out of reach of many poor people who could afford a cheap firearm but not the safes.

Licensing and registration requirements like Chicago's are specifically designed to make it prohibitively expensive to legally own a firearm and the results of compliance show this.

So these are the results of said laws, not any effect on criminals or crime rates. That makes gun control advocates defacto bigots. Some, like Ladd Everitt, are just more open about it.

The More Things Change, The More They Stay the Same

We're all aware of Rep. Carolyn McCarthy and her famous 'Shoulder Thing That Goes Up' flub but gun control politicians endorsing and/or voting for legislation of which they have no idea what it's about except more gun control is nothing new.

Let's take a look at former OH Senator John Glenn. Even while being a Marine Colonel and NASA Astronaut, when it came to gun control, he was just as ignorant as McCarthy. He has a long history of endorsing gun control schemes including the 1968 GCA, endorsing licensing and registration, and leading one of the earliest organized gun control groups, the Emergency Committee for Gun Control. So it really comes as no surprise that he fully supported the Clinton AWB in 1993.

But what did he think he was actually voting for? Let's take a look:

..the GAO found that some of the parts stolen are those that are used to convert semi-automatic rifles into automatic machine guns. Those are the same automatic machine guns which we have passed laws to prohibit.
A recent poll by the DeHere Foundation taken between October 21 and 24 of this year found that 92 percent of those surveyed sup- ported a complete ban on semi-automatic weapons. We have just passed an amendment to the crime bill which prohibits possession even of those same semi-automatic rifles, which will be discussed here.

Um, no they didn't. They passed an amendment to temporarily prohibit manufacture of certain cosmetic features that in no way altered the function of the firearm. But they heard 'Assault Weapon Ban' and assumed. The DeHere Foundation is also a notable supporter of restrictive gun control policies so their polls have as much credibility as the MAIG one claiming that most NRA members oppose the NRA.

There's this little tidbit in the report that also caught my eye regarding M16 M855 series ammo:

You can tell that it is armor-piercing because of the green tip.

Unless things have changed, 'Green' tips are ball training ammo, NOT AP. That would be 'Black'.

So even historically, when it comes to gun control, they shut their brains off for anything that sounds good even if it has nothing to do w/ reality.
