Now I'm sure Josh and Ladd expected me to wail and gnash my teeth then go shooting up the place in response to their
testimony to the US Senate Committee. Instead I've been enjoying the kudos by my fellow 'traitors' and 'insurrectionists' and my response has been to write a letter to all the Senators involved.
Dear Senators,
It has come to my attention that a written testimony
by Josh Horwitz, ED of the ‘Coalition to Stop Gun Violence’ included a quote
from my online site in an effort to libel me and my activism towards a
progressive firearm agenda. It included:
Other insurrectionist commentators have been meticulous
about the hardware required for rebellion.
Roy Kubicek, the primary author of the blog Days of our Trailers: Consider
This the Old North
Bridge (and a credentialed
blogger at past NRA conventions) published a series of posts entitled “The Modern Militia,” in which he
asserted: The standard US Infantry field weapon is the ubiquitous M16/ M4
series rifle…
Obviously then, since the M16 was based off of it, the ideal
firearm for Militia compatibility would the [sic] the AR15(or its many clones)
chambered in 5.56 NATO.15
That post includes this statement:
Basically what it boils down to that the Modern Militia is there to
complement the Standing Army and other first responders such as the Police,
Fire Fighters, EMT's, etc. Supporting them in everything from acting as
Sniper/Scouts, Civil Patrol, Traffic Control, Hose handlers, Litter Bearers, or
any other job that may be required.
So obviously, unlike what the PuSH'ers wish I was doing, I won't be advocating
overthrowing the Gov't , teaching how to build bombs, or rehashing paranoid
conspiracy theories. I'm publishing my ideas on what we can do to help out our
society in these aforementioned instances and to be as effective and efficient
as we can when doing so.
As this statement has been
pointed out to them previously when my ‘insurrectionism’ was highlighted by Mr.
Horwitz or his Communications Director Ladd Everitt, not only their integrity
but their entire motivation for anti-gun activism should be called into
question as they have often asserted that any firearm owner that disagrees with
their premise is a ‘traitor’, ‘insurrectionist’, and a ‘racist’ up to and
including the American icon Chuck Norris.
Since they are such fans of James
Madison, they should perhaps pay attention to his statement on ‘treason’ from
the Federalist #43:
"As treason may be committed against the United
States, the authority of the United States ought to be enabled to punish it.
But as new-fangled and artificial treasons have been the great engines by which
violent factions, the natural offspring of free government, have usually
wreaked their alternate malignity on each other, the convention have, with
great judgment, opposed a barrier to this peculiar danger, by inserting a
constitutional definition of the crime, fixing the proof necessary for
conviction of it, and restraining the Congress, even in punishing it, from
extending the consequences of guilt beyond the person of its author."
– James Madison, Federalist
No. 43, "The Powers Conferred by the Constitution Further
Considered (continued)," Independent Journal, January 23, 1788; Rossiter
pp. 269-270
In closing, the statements and
claims made by officers of the CSGV should be taken for what they are worth.
Thank you for your time.
Yep. I'm quite the bomb thrower, aren't I?
