War On Women...

by women who don't like guns.

Did you know that a woman who wants to defend herself and/or supports firearm rights hates police and 14 yr old girls and want them to be killed using '50 caliber Barrett Assault Rifles'?

That's about all you can take out of this misogynistic bit of rambling incoherency.  Read some of the statements:
How do we carry our guns in our garter belts without an unsightly bulge?
Or tuck a derringer in the small of our backs without detracting from our derrieres

If the past is any guide, leggy models in skimpy apparel will strut down the runway with lacy holsters and plastic handguns.
Some nice bits of sexist stereotyping, isn't there? And it's written by a woman.

No comments allowed. Shock.

The Family That Murders Together Goes To Jail Together

I was debating making the title of this 'Just One More Law' or 'Streetlight' McCarthy Eats Crow' but went with this instead.

Yesterday I posted on the Endia Martin murder, how the Uncle had not only given the shooter the gun but went w/ her to help murder the other girl, and how Chicago Police Sup. McCarthy blamed 'lax gun laws'.

Turns out the gun used wasn't stolen from a car.  Instead the owner allegedly sold it illegally (Chicago requires a handgun license) and then filed a false police report claiming it was stolen.  The aunt of the shooter also went along for the shooting (as well as numerous others armed w/ various weapons) then another friend (a 17yr old) tried to dispose of the gun while running from police.

Update addition:  The paralyzed, gang connected Uncle also broke the law on guns on public transportation by riding the CTA to deliver the gun to his niece.

Since I wrote that post, there have been near a dozen additional shootings in the city.

There is no law on the books that would have stopped these people.  They knew they were committing crimes (from making false reports to murder) and didn't care.  Registration, 'safe storage', licensing, lost and stolen mandates.... All on the books in Chicago and they still deliberately broke the laws.

So obviously one more would make a difference.  Yeah, that makes sense.

Those Mind Control Chips Again

Two girls in Chicago get into a fight over a boy.  One pulls out a gun and shoots the other.  Sup. McCarthy, while not out shooting streetlights, blames the obvious:
At a press conference outside police headquarters, McCarthy said the gun used to kill Endia had been stolen from a car on April 14.
“What would have been, under any other circumstance, probably a fistfight between 14-year-old girls because they were fighting over a boy turned into a murder,” McCarthy told reporters. “You introduce a firearm and you have a murder.”
McCarthy said he was frustrated by Chicago's persistent gun violence and decried how Illinois gun laws facilitate the illegal flow of weapons onto city streets. He said the gun had legally been left in the owner's car, a practice he described as “insanity.”
“Those guns need to be in lock boxes, in safes, in people's residences or on their person,” he said.
Ok, so they don't say where the gun was in the car. If it was out in the open, that wasn't the wisest decision. However, it was reported as stolen, another panacea law they demanded, and that still didn't stop this.  But let's take a look a little deeper.
Endia was with friends on the front porch of Joseph's residence in the 900 block of West Garfield Boulevard when the suspect and her group approached, Cook County prosecutors said.
The suspect took out the gun and pulled the trigger, but the gun “malfunctioned,” said Assistant State's Attorney Kathleen Kain. The girl handed the gun to others in her group who quickly fixed it. The girl raised the gun again and opened fire, killing Endia and striking a 16-year-old girl in the upper left arm who was later released from a hospital.
The gun was deliberately stolen from a car.  The girl brought the gun to the fight, which she initiated, intending to use it. When it didn't work, she gave it to a friend to fix then took it back, pulling the trigger again.

No matter how much of an honor student this girl was, she was intent on murder. The incidental in this case, a stolen gun, is convenient for anti's to use to push for more laws, the blooddancers that they are.  McCarthy and the other PuSH'ers seem to believe that it's the result of those mind control chips the NRA installs in all guns.  She was going to find a way to kill no matter where she got it from.

UPDATE: Another article states that the gun was given to the suspect by her uncle who went w/ her and another friend tried to hide it afterwards.
Police said she got the gun from Flora, her uncle, and he accompanied her to the fight. Authorities are still investigating how Flora obtained the weapon, which Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said was stolen from a lawful owner in Chicago on April 13.
A 17-year-old was also charged in connection with the Back of the Yards shooting on Tuesday. He is charged with illegally having a gun, using it and then trying to get rid of it after shooting.
What a wonderful group of people.  If there was just 'one more law' then none of this would have happened. Right?

Detachment From Reality

Anti-gun true believers can't let facts or evidence get in the way of a good meme, in this case, the Bagdad Bob claim of '90%':
It would be a valuable cross-cultural field trip for LaPierre to take a look outside the hall, where representatives of the 90 percent were gathered. The moms at the gates gladly would have pointed out to him that 82 people die every day because guns fall into the hands of nonlaw-abiding citizens, curious children, the mentally ill and the suicidal. (Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Everytown for Gun Safety and Mayors Against Illegal Guns are backed by former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, the owner of Bloomberg News parent Bloomberg LP.)
Right, LaPierre is going to pay attention to a hundred or so people paid by Bloomberg to show up over a mile away and 'protest' when he's got over 70,000 people attending the annual meeting. Earlier in the article:
The NRA’s 4 million members don’t seem to feel a corresponding obligation to understand the 90 percent of Americans who say in polls they would like to see universal background checks for gun buyers.
Note that, 'In Polls'.  Not attending rallies.  Not members of gun ban organizations, but 'in polls'.  Whereas those 4 million + members of the NRA pay dues, write their congresscritters, and are, well, active.  I've asked it before and I'll ask it again, if '90%' of the public want these things, where are they?  Why does it take Bloomberg to have to fund these organizations?

Oh, right, because the 90% claim is FOS.  Just like Baghdad Bob, they ignore the tanks rumbling through the streets while claiming 'Victory'.

IL State Rep. Farnham Wanted To Keep The Dads Disarmed

IL. State Rep. Keith Farnham was a hard-core anti-gun advocate in the state and vehemently opposed CCW laws, voting against them whenever he could (up until it became inevitable). He was not only endorsed by the Brady Campaign but they had donated some funds to his re-election in 2010

I'm thinking they're regretting that decision right about now.

Brady Campaign-endorsed Illinois politician facing child pornography charges
Former State Rep. Keith Farnham also reportedly bragged in online chats about molesting young children, and allegedly used state-owned computers to store and trade pictures and videos.
Money well spent Brady Campaign.

OGRE 'Archaic' Armor, Revetments, and Gaming

Between not attending the NRA AM and various 'Powers' going all hormonal (making me cancel on some visitors :( ), I managed to get over to a friend's house for some mini-painting and gaming this weekend.  One thing I always liked about OGRE Miniatures was their rules for 'Archaic' armor and 'Militia' allowing one to use other 1/285th scale minis in the game although at a much reduced capability.

Over the years I've picked up an odd assortment of minis I liked including some WWII German Trucks and Panther tanks. The trucks got turned into 'Technicals' and the Panthers painted in a standard WWII German camo pattern. Just for kicks, I bought a selection of Soviet era CinC minis and some 'Revetments' to add flavor. The Soviet armor included 3 T-72 tanks, 4 ZSU-4-23 AA tanks, 6 BTR-70's and 6 BMP-1's. Here's a pic of assembly w/ an OGRE-thulu and Mk IIIB in the background.

Assembled and being painted:

The fully painted (simple green motif) minis w/ revetments (fyi, the smaller revetments were based off mealworms)
And the whole modest collection:

The game went well (for me).  MkV attack.  W/ a center placed CP, he placed his two howitzers on the far sides of the board allowing me to avoid one for most of the game.  He also had his forward forces split allowing me to avoid many of them.  Lucky rolls took out most of his GEV's but he reduced my guns fairly quickly.  Not quickly enough though as I rolled over his CP w/ 2 movement still available.

NRA Grassroots vs 'Bloomberg' Grassroots

Millions of members vs millions from Bloomberg gets you this comparison:

A hundred or so people shipped in by Bloomie compared to 70K+ people coming to share common interests and values.

Any questions?
