Revenue Generation, Not 'Public Safety'

So the next time you hear some politician endorsing raising fines to lower crime, remember this small bit of honesty:

"The bad guy's going to do what the bad guy does — fines mean nothing to them," he said. "But if nothing else, it steps up the fines, and if we should happen to catch someone, they'll pay another fee. That's all. It just adds more money to the revenue."

Fed's Checking On Bulk Food Sales?

We've talked before about the Gov't contradicting itself by alternately giving advice to citizens to be prepared and warning Surplus/Camping stores that people buying preparedness supplies may be suspected terrorists so this report by the Oathkeepers isn't that farfetched.

“A fellow veteran contacted me concerning a new and disturbing development. He had been utilizing a Mormon cannery near his home to purchase bulk food supplies. The man that manages the facility related to him that federal agents had visited the facility and demanded a list of individuals that had been purchasing bulk food....The agents appeared to become very agitated and after several minutes of questioning finally left with no information...."

I don't know if it's true or not but again, knowing how 'terrorist' is the boogey-man behind every door, I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Fast And Furiously Trying To Avoid The Evidence

There's a stereotype that Democrats are out to get your guns. This is why that stereotype persists:

Nevermind the fact that the 'individuals' regularly called the BATFE about the 'transfers', suspecting criminal activity, and were told to go ahead w/ them. Throw in a dollop of BDS and some flat out denial and you have a nice recipe for stereotype soup. This is apologetics at best as they try and protect the individual(s) responsible for F&F.

Until idiots like this, McCarthy, Schumer, Kerry, et al either stop pushing their anti-gun bills and/or stop being elected, this stereotype will persist.

IL FOID Privacy Upheld

CHICAGO -- An Illinois judge has ruled that the state police cannot release the names of the state's 1.3 million firearm owner identification cardholders, another victory for gun-rights advocates who had been trying on several fronts to block release of the names.

Good. There is no reasonable argument for the release of these names. But here's the Brady Campaign's argument:

Brian Malte of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, which has argued in favor of releasing the FOID card information, said sharing it with the public and the news media helps make sure FOID cards are not issued to felons or others who should not have them.

They think it's THEIR job to determine who's allowed to have firearms in IL. Nevermind the fact that if the Illinois State Police issues a FOID card to a FELON, that's a failure of the ISP, not firearm owners. Gun Control advocates don't care if it creates a shopping list for criminals, endangering you and your family, but they scream to high heaven when the tables are turned.

Holder Didn't Inhale

Reminiscent of Clinton claiming that it 'Depends on what the meaning of the word is is..", Holder plays word games to try and deflect blame:

'It all has to do with your state of mind and whether or not you had the requisite intent to come up with something that would be considered perjury or a lie,"

“Now Ned, them whores are going to tell different lies than you. And when their lies ain’t the same as your lies... Well, I ain’t gonna hurt no woman. But I’m gonna hurt you. And not gentle like before... But bad.”

'Whores' of course being the rest of his staff and the others who are doing everything they can to CTOA's.

And what are we hearing from the gun control advocates? Well either Crickets, or pathetic attempts to blame the NRA and 'weak gun laws'. Yeah, that's right. 'Weak gun laws'/NRA were responsible for forcing the DOJ/ATF to allow thousands of guns to be deliberately sent into the hands of Mexican drug cartels and then losing track of them because they never set up a system to follow them. That makes sense.

* Not advocating violence. It's called hyperbole for the hyper-sensitive reactionaries. You know who you are.

We're Not "Authorized"

TexasFred posts an article about an OR Blogger who was found liable for defamation and fined $2.5M. The Court apparently took that Oregon's MediaShield law didn't include bloggers as 'Authorized Journalists' because of the way it was worded, likely written before the internet became big.

Like Fred, I don't know the facts of the alleged defamation nor do I really care. The one fact that I do want to note was her biggest F^ckup:

At this point Cox says that she still has no plans to get a lawyer.

So it doesn't matter is she's innocent or guilty of the libel. She's just proven herself to be an idiot and her idiocy could very well screw the rest of us by setting precedent. You ALWAYS lawyer up.

Irony: They Still Don't Get It

Joan Peterson, Brady Campaign board member who believes firearm owners are unfit parents, calls us a bunch of meanies for not rolling over in her attempts to ban guns. She says:

..attacking those with whom you disagree with insults, derision and hateful language is immature and small to put it mildly.

The same individual who calls firearm advocates 'sleazy', 'sick' among some of her more immature wordings. Some of the comments she's approved through her moderation, IOW, comments personally approved by her:

The gun guys will do anything they can to handcuff investigators.

The gunloonz would rather see 1000 murders go unsolved than give up a trivial amount of privacy.

.. if you want to have a toy that sends a 150 gram cop killer bullet at 2800 miles per hour, it's just common sense that we need to register them.

The extremists are ugly in their comments, and go to great lengths to demonize anyone who disagrees with their views...Pitiful. Our attempts to bring peace to the community and reduce gun-related deaths brings out that gem of hatred and ugliness from them. Never mind that they oppose any and all regulation to reduce gun-related deaths and injuries, which makes them pro-criminal and only increases deaths.

And from Ladd Everitt, who has called firearm rights advocates everything from traitors, insurrectionists, etc. to stating we should be executed for treason:

Well why did he have a CCW license? Because neither the school nor the drug abusing victim contacted the police after multiple threats by the psychotic and unstable professor until months later then refused to follow up w/ the police.

So if no-one's reported a crime, what evidence did the police have? Oh, right. None. But it's all the fault of him having a CCW. Right. Sure.

This isn't the first time they've deliberately misconstrued this story.

Over 10000 guns allowed to go to the Mexican cartels w/ gov't approval. Yet the CSGV continues to act as apologists for this criminal action because they really hate the people that broke the story.

So in the mind of these 'gun violence prevention activists', it would be better for 'Fast & Furious' to never have been revealed than brought to light by someone they revile.

Not the First Time

Bitter on TBFKASIH has a post about Brady Campaign/Joyce Puppet Board Member Joan Peterson questioning whether firearm owners should be allowed to keep their children since we're obviously 'poor role models'.

This isn't the first time we've heard this before and it's a natural conclusion from their push to make firearm ownership a health issue. A former board member of Ceasefire PA once stated that teaching children how to use a firearm is a form of child abuse and that playing 'soldier' is a symptom of future sociopathy.

Like I said, it's a natural result from the 'firearm ownership=danger in the household' push by gun control advocates. If you can make that idea recognized by the establishment, it will be easier to restrict firearms 'for the children' since it will be assumed you're putting your kids at risk by even owning them. Unfortunately for them, that extremist view is becoming the purview of an ever shrinking fringe element who's foaming at the mouth dialogues are becoming less relevant as firearms are once again becoming more and more mainstream.

This isn't the first time we've heard this type of argument but unfortunately it won't be the last.
