A Perspective on Crime...

Back when I was in the Navy, we made a port call in Acapulco. Yeah..... That was fun.

Anyway... Some of my buddies and I hired a cab driver for the day to take us around. As we were passing by a bank, we all started staring. It was surrounded by dozens of guards w/ assault rifles and had a frickin' sandbagged machine gun nest on the roof. Asking our driver what the deal was, he replied "Banditos. Today is payday".

Later during the visit, my buddies and I decided we needed some more cash to waste so went and found an ATM. There was an armed guard outside (again w/ an assault rifle). As we took turns getting our money, I saw the guard was looking at us and talking on a radio. "Crap" I thought. "We're going to die". Instead, when we left the building, about every 30' or so was ANOTHER guard that had shown up to make sure we got away w/ our money and DIDN'T get robbed and killed before we could dump it into the local economy.

This was near 20 years ago, before things got REALLY bad.

When I start seeing machinegun nests at the local bank and Blackwater teams around ATM's, THEN I'll start taking Anti's claims of 'spiraling gun violence' seriously. I have no plan, however, to let myself be as vulnerable as the Mexican people though.

Corrupted By American Guns

Remember that all those problems in Mexico are caused by the US:

The detention of more than 100 officers comes after a rise in kidnapping and extortion in the area. A series of investigations in other towns already has put hundreds of officers in custody.

All taken over by the mind control chips installed in all firearms turning your average law abiding citizen into a raving mass murder and criminal.

Mexican Unpossibles

We keep being told that Mexico is getting almost all of its guns from US gun shops/shows.

In April, a DEA undercover operative was shown a hand grenade by one of the Iraqis and was told additional grenades were available from a Mexican military source.

Officials believe the weapons and explosives were meant to be sold locally, and there were no indications the group was supplying Mexico's most violent cartel with weapons for use in that country's drug war, which has claimed at least 35,000 lives.

Now we know that when a reporter says 'Assault Rifles', they could mean anything from a semi-auto handgun to a Chevette. If they're getting guns from Mexican military and NOT planning on shipping them back, they 'could be' the real thing.

And how long has this been going on?

Officials were tipped off after neighbors and even some of the club members' spouses complained for years about the establishment's criminal activity, which has included attempted murder, sales of meth and marijuana, gambling and illegal firearms sales.

Let's keep those borders nice and open. It won't cause any problems. And obviously the best response to this is to make even MORE gun control laws in California. That'll stop them.

Gun Walker Hearings: Facts vs Distractions

As the hearings were going on, gun control advocates squeaked and squalled that Issa kept the hearings on track and didn't let it get turned into a circus of 'We need to pass more laws'. That whole thing was about two sentences out of an entire day of hearings and 150 pages of transcript.

150 pages that include many statements like this:

"Rep Cummings: Special Agent Dodson, again, I'm trying to understand this. If you're following a suspected straw purchase and you start at the gun store and you follow it to a house, why wouldn't you keep following that -- that gun?

DODSON: Sir, that -- that's the one question that I can't answer for you is the why. It made no sense to us either. It's what we were ordered to do. And every time we questioned that order, you know, there was punitive action against those of us that did so."

But remember, all of this testimony, emails and evidence of abuse by the gov't resulting in increased crime and deaths is less important to the gun control advocates than pushing for more laws and restrictions. None of which would have prevented a single gun from being 'walked'.

Brady Campaign Responds to 'Fast & Furious'

"It's still the gun lobby's fault"

That basically is Paul Helmke's claim as he tries to justify more gun bans.

It is obvious that the 'Fast and Furious' operation involved only a tiny percentage of those trafficked guns.

A 'tiny percentage'. Between 10 & 20%. The same percentage that's the total of guns allegedly from the US. But he doesn't consider that 'tiny'. The beauty line is this:

"What Congress needs to confront is why it is perfectly legal to buy 10 or 20 assault rifles at a time from a U.S. gun dealer.

Well as it turns out, those 'gun dealers' were wanting to stop many of the 'Fast & Furious' sales but were ordered to continue by the BATFE amounting in hundreds of guns being bought at a single time.

Any excuse to ban guns. Ignorance and lying.

SIH correctly refers to their cult behaviour a 'scam':

It’s never been more obvious what a scam their phony concern about “gun violence” is. They don’t give a crap about gun violence. All they care about is restricting the 2A to the greatest extent possible.

More Anti-Math

We keep hearing about all the guns that are 'submitted for tracing' from Mexico and how most of them (70%/90%/whatever the made up number of the day is) in order to justify more gun bans.

But these reports tend to ignore or not emphasize the TOTAL number of firearms collected by the Mexican authorities and never question the difference.

The latest claim. 20,504 out of 29,284 guns were from the US during '09 and '10

The total, according to Mexican journalists, however, was 129,243 collected during the same period.

15.86%.

That's nearly identical to the numbers Foxnews came up w/ when the 90% canard was being promoted and debunked.

And still no word on where the other 70-80% of these guns are coming from.

I wonder why?

Some Mexican Authorities Figuring It Out

Acapulco, formerly a pretty safe place to visit:

Shootings and attacks in Mexico's Pacific coast resort of Acapulco left two police officers, three suspected drug cartel gunmen and two other men dead, police said Monday.

The State Police Chief is waking up:

Ramon Almonte, the Guerrero state police chief, said on Monday he will ask the federal congress to make it easier for common citizens to get permits for weapons to defend themselves...

"When you fight someone and at least you have a 'piece,' the person who is attacking you might think twice," Almonte said. "We cannot go on the way we are."...

"Having a weapon should be a right, because the bad guys are few and we, the good guys, are many, so we can't allow ourselves to be held hostage by the few," Almonte said.

Boy, that sounds familiar. 10:1 he'll be dead before the end of the month. The Drug lord and Mexican Gov't (but I repeat myself) need to keep the citizens defenseless. The same thing gun control groups want for the US.

For Sale w/ No Background Check

I'm waiting for Ford to be blamed for arming cartels as well. I mean you can buy an F-150 F-350 w/ no background check in a private sale in any state in the US.

More Anti-Math

Dennis "I Forgot the People" Henigan is touting a report saying it's all those nasty gun shows and 'assault weapons' in the US that are causing Mexican violence. But, as usual, the numbers don't add up.

The claim:

75,000 firearms seized by the Mexican government in the last three years, about 80%, or 60,000 firearms, came from the United States.

From the report:

Mexico has seized more than 85,000 total firearms from the start of the Calderon Administran
50,000 are AK-47 and AR-15 assault rifles

That would be an average of 21,250 thousand guns per year.

But:

individuals illegally transferred an estimated 14,923 U.S. firearms to Mexico from FY 2005 to FY 2009.

That's an average of about 3700 per year. About ten per day in the thousands of vehicles and people that cross the border every day legally and illegally.

So it would have taken over twenty years to have 'trafficked' all those guns, most of which was during the Clinton AWB. Plus you have the fact that they claim 5x the number of guns being confiscated than are being brought in. You would think that over the last four years, there would have been a reduction in crime w/ such successful police work.

So Dennis is, as usual, full of crap.

UPDATE: Turns out one of the actual authors of the report are upset they're being called on their crap research and are being shown their @sses. In comments (posted for him or here on his site) 45 Superman shows one of them how research is done.

Just Like Chicago, The Numbers Don't Add Up

Facing overwhelming losses to many of their supporters, the PuSH'ers have again regurgitated the Mexican Gun Canard usually attached to pictures of RPG's, Machineguns and other firearms you won't find at your local gun show.

But I really love this line by Paul Helmke's ghost writer:

Violence in Mexico has increased since Congress allowed the federal assault weapons ban to expire in 2004.

That's a nice correlation. Too bad for them it doesn't hold true for the US. You know , that place where crime has dropped or stayed the same since the AWB expired. One would think that we should have seen a spike as well.

But we haven't.

The same holds true for Illinois and Chicago. No state level laws relaxing restrictions have shown any increase in crime but Chicago, with strict laws like Mexico, has 5x the murder rate across the board as well as higher crime. Again one would think that the rest of the state should see high crime rates w/ all these guns freely available.

But we don't.

And people are realizing that.

So does MAIG, BC and all the rest. And that's why they're terrified.

Mexican Smugglers

So w/ the fact that we've effectively lost territory to the Cabals, what should we expect ICE to do about it? About as much as they've been doing. Remember that kid shot on the border?

The records show Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereca had been arrested at least four times since 2008 and twice in the same week in February 2009 on suspicion of smuggling illegal immigrants across the U.S.-Mexico border. Hernandez was repeatedly arrested along the U.S. side of the border near downtown El Paso, not far from where he was killed, but was never charged with a crime by federal prosecutors.

And where's the rest of the LameStream media on these events? Oh, right, they're busy calling Arizona a bunch of racists.

That brings us nicely to MexiData's "An Inside Look at Mexican Guns and Arms Trafficking." Quoting the Mexico City newspaper El Universal, it tells us about a Mexican "crime gun" source that Calderón, the Brady Campaign, the Violence Policy Center, and others would like us not to know about, because it's obvious that no combination of restrictions on American civilians can do anything about it.

A percentage of the weapons, the seller said, come from Mexico via Ministry of Defense personnel who provide [them] in part from weapons seized in raids, or stolen from the ministry's own arsenal.

Corruption in the Mexican government? I'm shocked, I tell you--shocked!
