Echo Chambers

It's fairly common for an individual/group that vehemently opposes one civil right to have no problems violating others. Another case in point, IL State Rep Karen May (D-58) is a hard core gun banner and was one of the minority to vote against Concealed Carry. Well now she's having an open, public meeting(10:00 a.m., July 9, at the Highland Park Public Safety Building, 1677 Old Deerfield Road, Highland Park, IL). But when she heard that people who opposed her were actually going to show up, she declared her staff would stop them.

Nope. Don't think so. The meeting is being held in a public, tax-payer funded building. But it does show that they don't really care about or respect the very things they swore an oath to uphold.

Lawsuit Against IL Carry Ban

Since we are officially the last state to have no form of legal carry whatsoever (unless you're a Chicago Alderman) and the Chicago-crats have seen fit to deny us our rights, it's time to continue it w/ the Jury Box. Shepard v Madigan was filed today in the US District Court for S. IL.
Illinois’s 720 ILCS 5/24-1 (the “Unlawful Use of Weapons” law) and 720 ILCS 5/24-1.6 (the “Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon” law) constitute a complete ban on the public carrying of firearms by law abiding citizens otherwise qualified to possess them in Illinois.
The effect of the Unlawful and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon law (the “Weapons Laws”) is, at a bare minimum, a plain violation of Plaintiffs’ Second Amendment rights. The harmful effects of this ban are severe, and its immediate forestallment imperative.
They want to play hardball, OK, let's play hardball.

The 'Gun Lobby' would like to thank Mayor Emanuel and the City of Chicago for helping further the restoration of the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

The Spin Doctors Are Spinning Fast

With the continuing revelations that 'Fast and Furious' wasn't just a BATFE foul-up, involving even more higher ups in the DOJ and that the same thing seems to have been going on in Florida, the 'O' administration is doing everything they can to wag the dog.
"As you know, the President directed the Attorney General to form working groups with key stakeholders to identify common-sense measures that would improve Americans' safety and security while fully respecting Second Amendment rights," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Thursday.

"That process is well underway at the Department of Justice with stakeholders on all sides working through these complex issues. And we expect to have some more specific announcements in the near future."

Carney didn't say how soon those announcements would come, nor what they might entail.

Let's take bets on how desperate they're going to get in their attempts to keep even a few of the groups they've thrown under the bus the last three years.

The Next Brady Campaign Spokesman?

Someone even better than Plaxico:
Dantzler has an extensive criminal record, including a felony assault less than murder, misdemeanor assault and battery, domestic violence and breaking and entering.

@CSGV Playing the Race Card

Continuing to display their irrelevancy, they continue playing the Race Card to try and demonize their opponents since they can't argue their stance based on facts:
CSGV
Now actually reading the article, there's nothing about ''race' in there. So why even use the word?

Why? Because they've got nothing else left except for smear tactics. He's also jealous that Nugent actually has some musical talent.

More TSA Abuses on the Horizon

Some unnamed Gov't source is telling airlines terrorists 'might' start implanting bombs surgically.

"people traveling to the U.S. from overseas may experience additional screening at airports."

Soon to be expanded to domestic flights as well I'm sure. Especially for young, pretty women.

But don't worry about it. Just go back to your episode of 'American Idol'.

Chicago Range Ban Overturned by 7th Circuit

Decision here.

The ordinance admittedly was designed to make
gun ownership as difficult as possible.
The City has legitimate,
indeed overwhelming, concerns about the prevalence
of gun violence within City limits. But the Supreme Court
has now spoken in Heller and McDonald on the Second
Amendment right to possess a gun in the home for selfdefense
and the City must come to terms with that reality.
Any regulation on firearms ownership must respect that
right.

Reading more, the court realized that the Ordinance was designed to prohibit firearm ownership and to 'thumb their nose' at the SCOTUS and the court responded in kind. W/ the new range requirements already voted on, realizing they were going to lose and for the same reason, this is just going to lead to another round of lawsuits against the city.

Avoiding the Issue (UPDATE)

The news hit that Acting BATFE director Melson testified on July 4th to Issa's congressional committee over 'Fast and Furious' claiming that lots of other agencies are culpable.

So what are groups like the Brady Campaign, Violence Policy Center and the rest of the Joyce puppets saying about it?

Absolutely nothing.

Instead they're retweeting alleged incidents and anything else they can think of to avoid talking about the fact that the BATFE deliberately let thousands of firearms be smuggled to Mexico to arm narco-terrorists.

Joyce Foundation funded 'Media Matters' completely avoids the fact that Melson testified regurgitating the predetermined 'forum' headed by anti-gunners.

Reasoned Discourse: Really Pathetic Edition (UPDATE II)

New author on Huffpo w/ lots of credentials as a "Public Administration and Policy Consultant; Writer" throws out a few random posts w/ the latest being on gun control. He actually starts receiving more than a handful of comments, most of which hand him his @ss over his regurgitation of the usual talking points.

Then suddenly about 90% of the comments made (over 30) disappear and no further have been approved.

Note to the author. If you're going to jump onto a bandwagon that's already lost three of its wheels, at least know what you're talking about first.

UPDATE: About half the comments have returned. The interim comments/replies by Paul Heroux have been 'removed'. More info forthcoming.

UPDATE II: Some of Heroux's comments have been recovered. It gets even more pathetic:

IOW, he thought he knew more than he actually did, made the mistake of responding, got his @ss handed to him, the 'Reasoned Discourse' kicked in. Just like I called it.

And that's how we 'roll'.

All they're going to do is end up costing the taxpayers more money in court costs and legal fees.
