Sylvester Stallone: Dumb as a Post and Hypocrite

Rambo, while making movies and money by glorifying killing as many people as possible and cutting people in half w/ .50 cal machine guns, (his latest film is called 'Bullet to the Head') has been a long time anti-gun advocate.

His latest rants show just how stupid he really is:
"I know people get (upset) and go, 'They're going to take away the assault weapon.' Who ... needs an assault weapon? Like really, unless you're carrying out an assault. ... You can't hunt with it. ... Who's going to attack your house, a (expletive) army?"
So basically he's an 'actor' and is just repeating the script that's been put in front of him.  He knows nothing about the issue besides what the Brady Campaign tells him. He probably thinks one can really carry around a pair of machineguns and that they have no recoil.  Just like the blanks he fires in his movies.

CSGV: Freedom of Assembly = Terrorist Attack

Miguel finds another winner by the nitwits who run the CSGV FB feed. In this case they claim that calling on the Gov't to adhere to the Constitution and rule of law is the equivalent of terrorism.

Can you really have a intelligent conversation w/ people who hold this kind of mentality?

Illinois Gun Numbers

Via IL-Gunlobby:
As of January 31, 2013, there are 70,218 applications in the backlog for a
FOID card, and the Firearms Services Bureau (FSB) continues to receive a
record level of applications. For the first month of 2013, 61,172
applications were received for processing, which far surpasses the previous
record of 39,394 applications received in March 2012.
Tens of thousands of new people are buying firearms.  Now (to paraphrase Uncle) if only those people will contact their legislators, join the NRA, SAF and ISRA we'ld smash any attempts at gun bans.

Mass Shooting In Chicago

11 shot w/ 3 killed.

Why isn't this all over the news on every channel over and over?  Because it didn't happen all in one place and it's pretty much a daily occurrence there.

Chicago also has all the laws and more (effectively a gun free zone) that the anti-gun advocates are pushing for so they have to ignore it because it doesn't fit their talking points.

Glad To Be A Prepper

Power was out for 36 hours starting night before last. Now yeah, that's not a 'real' long time but when you're getting below freezing nights and you have an independent water supply, it makes a difference.

While there was no TV ( :) ) or Net (:( ), we were nice and toasty w/ plenty of food, water and light w/o even having to hook up the generator (a laborious process, working on improving it) or take any extreme measures. We had it all available.  Just like camping.

We were lucky, this is what happened to some neighbors of ours:

Ashmore Storm Damage 01/30/13 (5)

Just FYI, there used to be a 4th story to this building.

Crews worked night and day and night to get the power back on. W/ the recent rain, the dozens of cherry-pickers were buried axel deep in mud putting up the dozens of poles that were taken down by the wind sheer, being moved from place to place by tractors and back-hoes.

So DOOT is back up and I'll spend the next day or so catching up on things.

US Borders: Safer Than Ever Before

Nevermind that hundreds of square miles are off limits due to drug smuggler incursions. Nevermind that ranchers and residents live in fear of being attacked. Nevermind that millions of illegals cross it every year.  Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain:

our borders now are more secure than they have ever been in history
That ANYONE can take this administration seriously shows just how much we've devolved as a society.

What's Good For The Goose

Apparently the idea that 'Gun Free Zones' should be good enough for politicians who promote them (while at the same time having retinues of taxpayer funded armed guards) is spreading.

A petition to the White House calls for the elimination of the Secret Service in favor of laws banning firearms around the President, VP and their families.

I'm betting Zero and Biden will react in the same way as Mayor Bloomie to losing their beloved security especially since O just signed a bill giving himself lifetime security.

Chicago: Gun Control Works

7 people killed in shootings during bloody Chicago day

And that was just one day boys and girls.  Sunday accounted for at least one more.

And here's the part making the most headlines:
Among those killed Saturday was a 34-year-old man whose mother had already lost her three other children to shootings. Police say Ronnie Chambers, who was his mother's youngest child, was shot in the head while sitting in a car...

Shirley Chambers' first child, Carlos, was shot and killed by a high school classmate in 1995 after an argument. He was 18. Her daughter Latoya, then 15, and her other son Jerome were shot and killed within months of one another in 2000.
But the part that's not mentioned or buried deep in the articles:
In a December appearance on the "The Ricki Lake Show," Chambers identified himself as a former gang member who was trying to help others stay away from that kind of life.
Police said he'd been arrested 29 times and had four felony convictions. Records show his most recent conviction was in 2005 for receiving, possessing or selling a stolen motor vehicle. He was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, records show.
Chambers, whose nickname was "Scooby," had been "trying to change his life," Smith said.
Yep, just another choir boy 'trying to change his life'.  I'm sure the other siblings were just as innocent.   Just two weeks ago, Obama cited Chicago, the city w/ some of the strictest gun laws in the nation and where over 90% of shootings go unsolved, as the reason why we need MORE gun laws even though the ones he's calling for are already in place in the city.  And what's even more fun is that Chicago is exporting its crime.  Aren't we lucky?

Gun Show AAR: EBR's and Ammo

The panic buying was somewhat less than it was at the show I was at the end of last month.  Erin Morelands guns of Ramsey, IL sold the first AR in 15 min. after the doors opened.  Most of the dealers were light on firearms (especially EBR's) and ammo by the end of Sunday.  Prices were still high but not stupidly high like I saw earlier in the month. Several dozen new ISRA and NRA members were signed up as well.

For me, the items that moved like mad were toy soldiers.  Many miniature wars will be fought over the next few days. I also traded my RIA 1911a1 and some ammo for a Baretta 92 and some ammo.   Because of Illinois' stupid 72hr waiting period, I'll be picking it up next weekend when I'm back down in that area.

One of my biggest highlights were several DOOT readers who came by to tell me how much they enjoy reading my rants.  Well, there's no accounting for taste. ;)

And of course endless talk about what's up next in DC and Springfield and how they're going to try and screw gun owners.

Even though I had to fight through a cold the whole time, it was a good weekend overall.

Fake Gun Control Numbers

Headline: Thousands march for gun control in Washington.

The only aerial shot that TBFKASIH can find shows maybe a few hundred (a dismal turnout for a DC event).

The photo shown on Fox of the march in PA: (Note the sign on the left)

 Gun Show Assault Weapon.jpg

Yet when the few newspapers report on Pro-gun rallies like IGOLD, they report 5k-7k people as a 'few hundred'.

The only way they can win is through ignorance and lies.
