For comparison, the unadjusted April 2013 NICS figure of 1,702,455 reflects a 20.2 percent increase from the unadjusted NICS figure of 1,416,074 in April 2012.

 Nearly 250,000 FOID applications and 1.2 million firearms nationwide. People in Illinois must be getting multiple FOID cards as well as guns according to anti-gun logic.

This belief is the continuation of what small children do when they hear something they don't like,  They cover their ears, stomp their feet and yell so they don't have to hear the grownups telling them to eat their vegetables.

OK. 

"If Muslims do not want regulation, they should assume accountability for those wounded and killed by Muslims."

"If Blacks do not want regulation, they should assume accountability for those wounded and killed by Blacks."

"If Liberals do not want regulation, they should assume accountability for those wounded and killed by Liberals."

"If Judges do not want regulation, they should assume accountability for those wounded and killed by criminals released by "law abiding" Judges."

Sorry 'Judge'. I am NOT responsible for the actions of some dumbass just because he happened to own a gun.  You may give the platitudes of 'blame the person responsible' but your real agenda is your last few sentences:

NRA Members Oppose NRA Members.... Or Something Like That

Long w/ the meme that its the 'NRA Leadership' is 'out of touch' w/ its 5m+ members, paid propagandists at 'Media Matters' are really having to tapdance to explain how a resolution at the annual members meeting opposing all new gun control was passed unanimously by the hundreds of attending members. 

This position puts the activists in attendance out of step not only with the American people, but with the broader membership of the organization.

Oh right, only the 'Fringe' , hard-line, fanatic members attend meetings.

They are so sure of themselves they need to continue to demonize their opponents and poison the well knowing full well that membership has increased by the hundreds of thousands in the last 5 months. I signed/re-signed up 4 weekend before last.  Makes you wonder how if these hundreds aren't representative of the 5m NRA members, how is a poll of a thousand + representative of 300 million?

Chicago/Cook County is crapping themselves over the possibility of Constitutional Carry on June 9th.

Dart said he’s worried about a stalemate in the General Assembly on a law to license people to carry concealed guns. If legislators don’t meet a June 9 court deadline to pass such a law, anyone with a state firearm owner’s identification card could legally walk anywhere in public with a concealed weapon, Dart said.

They're trying to pass a County specific 'May Issue' bill (iow NO issue) w/ a 'reasonable' $300 fee that would take effect on June 9th should the legislature do what they do best.  Nothing.

All I Need Now is the Black Van

Picked up a new toy at the gun show today.

Ruger Mini-14 'Ranch Rifle' w/ side folding stock along w/ a few mags. I figure since I couldn't make it to the NRA AM, I'ld increase my insurrectionist credentials some other way.

Update: Ran a magazine through it. Me likey.  Love the feel of the gun. Hate the mags. Whoever designed that stupid little hole insert needs to be beaten severely.  Trigger safety reminds me of the SKS. No recoil at all. Need to check accuracy when I have more time but it's hitting the target.

Also picked up some more 80's era US Army Recognition Cards.  These being Russian Language.

These have inspired me to sign up for one of those Rosetta Stone language courses.  Hopefully this time I'll actually be able to get it. I've always had trouble learning languages.

And just to make the day extra special, I took 4thpower Alpha to the local PD for a tour w/ his cub scout group.  Every single one of the officers I spoke to were pro-gun and were wanting CCW to pass. One had his own AR build as his 'patrol rifle' and another said he was building up a couple for his daughters.

Overall a good day.
