Silent but deadly, non-fart edition

GUN SHOW WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a rather large end-of-year bonus at work, considering the economy and the penny pinching disease, and spent some of it investing in silver. Still have a large chunk of disposable income for buying more shooty fun.

Nice lady at work told me the sandwich boards were out advertising the gun show this weekend so I spent a good deal of time today thinking about what to look for tomorrow.

I’ve pretty much got it boiled down to bolt-actions, lever actions, semi-autos, full-autos, wheel guns and small bore cannons. What??? Look in the mirror before you criticize me you big fat booger-eater!

In all honesty, I may just break down and start shopping for a suppressed option in any caliber I shoot. Getting an NFA item is a rite of passage for gunnies and I have that option available to me. There’s a custom maker at every ARPC show I go to so I might just take the plunge and thumb my nose at the politicos.

I call it a win-win scenario.

Can’t say for sure till I sign on the dotted line, but I can’t help but feel that if I don’t exercise my Rights to the fullest extent as they exist today, I may find myself fighting for a Right I once had and then lost due to complacency.

I hope ya’ll can Keep and Bear with me.

You can thank me later.

Been lots of debate concerning CCW lately from all corners. I thought it might be nice to share my thoughts so that others soon to enjoy this Right can benefit from what I’ve learned.

Basically, obtaining a CCW permit turns you into a cop without all the hassle of paperwork, wearing a uniform or an Internal Affairs department sniffing your crotch every time you smoke one of the little people. We don’t receive a paycheck, so there is a trade off but, I’ve found that robbing people at gun point can provide a nice supplementary income to my regular 9 to 5. Not as easy as it used to be with everyone carrying plastic instead of cash so there is the extra work of kidnapping and a quick trip to the ATM. But when considering that I can set my own hours and don’t have any dispatchers bothering me about some other poor schlep’s situation, CCW is a pretty sweet deal. Why someone would actually go to school and pay the enormous expense to become a uniformed LEO totally escapes me when they could have just spent $115 and sat through a 5 hour class at the range.

Being able to legally murder anybody who so much as give me the stink-eye gives me a sense of purpose in life. I know it may sound weird, but I also think it makes my wiener look bigger, which is why I’m an advocate for open carry as well since this allows me to strut my stuff and intimidate at the same time.

There are several other benefits as well, if you know how to exploit the loopholes.

1. While I can not legally write a traffic ticket, I can legally pull over another driver in a fit of road rage and threaten to shoot them in the face unless they give me $20. I do this quite a bit, except when it’s raining.

2. While I can not seek a search warrant from a judge, I can legally just walk around town and kick in doors until I find what I’m looking for. This is where I really wish I could call for back-up because some of those big screen TVs are frickin’ heavy.

3. The cops in my area score free donuts and coffee at any establishment that offers them and I get the same benefit just by brandishing my firearm and spitting while I scream. I like caramel mochas and scones with mint jelly. Most of my regulars know this and hence I rarely have to even ask anymore.

4. Technically, rape is still illegal for me(I know, I mean give me a break!) but I’m all good as long as I shoot and kill my victim, uh… I mean date as long as I blah blah blah about how she was thrusting towards me in a threatening manner. Timing is everything here because I ain’t no sicko.

The major drawback for me is that I’m not issued a squad car and I have to buy my own guns and ammo, or go through the hassle of stealing this crap from the proles.

But at the end of the day, my duty to PROTECT myself and SERVE my own interests fills me with an inner joy, knowing that I’m doing my part to make my world a better place.

Down the Memory Hole Redux

Dennis Henigan is good at making flubs then hoping they disappear. His most famous is when he truncated the Second Amendment leaving out 'of the people'.

In his latest post attacking the right to defend yourself on college campuses, he did it again. He initially made the claim that the VT shooter had a Virginia issued CCW license.

Then that claim disappeared.

Nothing disappears entirely though. I love screencaps.

So gun control advocates continue to try and smear all CCW license holders but then get caught up in their own lies. And when they try to cover up their lies, we are there to hold it up to the world.

Being Quiet is Racist

And this required going up to the DE Supreme Court.

The ruling overturned a judgment that would have awarded 23 black theatergoers $1,500 for being told to be quiet in a way seen by some to be racially charged, according to the report.
The outrage began one night in October 2007 when David Stewart, the theater’s white manager, told the crowd to silence cell phones before the screening.

One patron followed Stewart out of the theater and said his instructions did not sit well with some in the audience.

Juana Fuentes-Bowles, then the director of Delaware’s Human Relations Division, was in the audience and stood up and told the crowd that his remarks were racist.

People are stupid.

Wagging the Madigan to Prevent CCW?

From the old expression 'Wagging the Dog' to distract people from serious issues by inventing a crisis, quite a bit of discussion has been going on over the release of the IL FOID info.

It's very convenient that the AG office released this decision just as Concealed Carry is gaining serious momentum in the capitol. Then the bill to prevent the release gets stalled 5-5 in committee w/ no updates on the votes on the web site even though they have been updating the increasing numbers of cosponsors. I'm sure her daddy had nothing to do w/ it.

This is classic Chicago politics in action. Madigan et al are not working for the people. They are working to keep their own power base.

This could work against them as this issue has gotten national attention.

There are 1.3 million firearm owners in Illinois according the the ISP. We need to show the politicians who really has the power. IGOLD folks. I'm not kidding.

The race for last place

Truth be told, just a few years ago I couldn’t have cared less about may issue or no issue states. It didn’t affect me so screw all those commie bastards.

I didn’t even care enough about my own Right to carry concealed until I was 35 years old. But when I reflect; I’ve been shooting since age 6, started carrying openly at age 12(rifle, duh) saved my own life with the gun I was carrying at age 14 and have been eligible for an Oregon CHL since age 21, it still took me another decade and a half to actually do it. I should note that Barbarian gnawed on my ear for a full 5 years to get my ass off the couch and pony up the cash and sit through an afternoon class to actually get it. At one point, he even offered to front the cost if I would commit to the training class. I turned him down repeatedly.

I can’t honestly say that I was a Fudd, but I just wasn’t following what our congress critters were doing.

I was ignorant.

Now???

Well, I consider myself very well informed about Oregon Law concerning both concealed carry and open carry and somewhat less than ignorant about matters in the other 49 states.

Constitutional carry is way cool. Reciprocity is way cool. For those in the last two states that don’t have any form of CCW, you’re doing research about crap the rest of us take for granted.

That’s what the politicos need to hear. We have had this for a long time now. It’s time for you to join the union.

Together we stand, divided we fall.

Illinois State Police Refuse to Release FOID info

I'm impressed.

In a showdown over the privacy rights of gun owners, the Illinois State Police are refusing to release a list identifying all firearm permit holders in the state after Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan determined that the information "must" be made public.

Again, everytime we hear about 'reasonable, common-sense' laws that 'gun control' advocates claim will save the children, we keep getting examples of how they deliberately try and screw firearm owners over each and every chance they get. So when you hear about how mean and unreasonable we are for not 'compromising', remember this.

Next week (3/10) is IGOLD, where 7000+ of us are going to march on the state capitol. And we're going to use this as a rallying cry. Illinois residents who want to protect their rights should all meet there. Join us.

Shopping List For Criminals

The Atty General of Illinois want to make it easy for criminals to pick their targets.

SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says state police must release the name of everyone in the state who is authorized to own a gun.

State police determine who gets a Firearm Owners Identification card, which allows people to own guns. The police have always kept the list private.

This is why people oppose registration and licensing.

Telegraphing Their Intentions.

Not that it comes as a real big surprise from a group previously known as the National Coalition to Ban Handguns, but the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Ownership, the group that has called Chuck Norris a traitor (I kid you not) and the Second Amendment 'Nonsense', is offering this T-shirt for sale:

What do they want again?

H/T to STL GRE.
