Fearmongering beyond WaPo

Other posters have hit upon the Washington Post regurgitating a Brady Press release stating that Congress is trying to turn DC into Somalia.

I'll hit on just one sentence from the Brady front page:

The bill, H.R. 6691, would allow nearly anyone, even teenagers and children, to carry loaded assault rifles on the streets of our Nation's Capital.
The bolding was theirs.

Enough said.

Update: OK, I can't pass this one up either....

"It would be legal for citizens to possess and openly carry .50 caliber sniper rifles, weapons that can pierce einforced bunkers, aircraft, and armor-plated vehicles, and are accurate to 2000 yards and effective up to 7500 yards. Given these weapons size, they may be fore useful mounted on the back of a pick-up truck-which would be perfectly legal under H.R. 6691. Imagine law enforcement having to stand idly by while an individual sets up a sniper rifle on North Capitol or K Street, waiting for a motorcade, a government official, or a White Househelicopter to come within range." -Paul Helmke

Mary really left these people disjointed, didn't she?
