Why the 'Conversation' is Over

Gun control advocates are regularly calling for a 'conversation' on gun violence, mostly due to the fact that they've effectively lost and are now fighting what are little more than holding actions. 

The irony of it is that they still don't understand why.  When they're not banning dissenting voices on their FB pages or calling their opponents 'traitors' and 'insurrectionists' (sure starters for reasoned discourse in any setting, right?) this response on Huffpo is a perfect example why:

Then there needs to more "conversations" or those having the "conversation" need to get much louder.

Apparently everyone posting on this story who are against gun control laws haven't been the victim of gun violence because guns are too easily obtained by those who should not have the. And the reasoning that background checks don't work is the best reason not to have them is idiotic reasoning.

The anti- gun control people posting on this article will never say enough to sway those of us who believe in gun control to change our minds.

More guns, means more violence, that fact does not seem to mean anything to those obsessed with gun ownership.

Perhaps if you had a very young family member shot and killed by an equally young person who had no business having a gun, maybe you might actually be for some common sense approaches to gun ownership. Everyone being armed is not anywhere close to common sense and it is obviously not making for a safer nation despite what all the pro-gun, anti-background check people think.

Now this is pretty typical of what you get. There is not ONE rational or factual piece of information in it. Instead it relies exclusively on strawmen, character attacks, emotional diatribes, and myths/talking points, none of which hold up to scrutiny. They've got nothing else.  The only time it's effective is when people like Bloomberg or the Joyce foundation pay tons of money to flood the media w/ their skewed information in order to influence those who don't normally pay attention to the issue.

But then, when/if they start researching it more, they find out they've been lied to and they tend to start looking at the issue from a view leaning more towards our side. That's how I and several others became 'gun nuts'.

And they still don't get it and never will.

 

Anti-gun 'Logic' from Lori O'neill

Lori O'Neill (AKA Gunsensus)states on the NY Appellate CourtViolating the Protection of Lawful Arms in Commerce Ruling:

 Any multiple sale of handguns requires a multiple sale form go to ATF and the police department in whose jurisdiction the sale occurred. Question is what happens then? Do police or ATF act on multiple sales reports, especially those that indicate the same person or people are making bulk purchases frequently?  

So the police/ATF drop the ball on obvious straw purchasers and a dealer who was doing the selling.  Her solution?

The state should limit the number of handguns a person can purchase in a single transaction, she said. And all federally licensed gun dealers and employees should be required to undergo training on recognizing straw purchases

So we need MORE laws that won't be enforced and violators prosecuted. And obviously we need to sue the manufacturers and distributors because a dealer (who the ATF also didn't charge and made excuses for not doing so) is an idiot. 

The goal of the groups she belongs to is to require all sale to go through dealers and sue the manufacturers/distributors/dealers out of business. No new guns and no legal transfers so all legally owned ones would eventually have to be turned in/confiscated. Any attempt to deny this is just deliberate dishonesty and ignorance of all their actions to date.

Ladd Everitt/CSGV Get Their Censorship On

Not content w/ attempting to strip people of their 2nd Amendment rights, Ladd Everitt of the CSGV and nutball anti-gun lawyer 'Michael Bannerman' aka 'Laci the Dog' are attempting to strip the 1st Amendment rights of a paraplegic veteran that they consider a threat to national security.

Because he writes a column criticizing the gov't.

This is the same tactic they tried by accusing a blogger of child abuse.

They CANNOT win on their own merits so they have to resort to trying to shut down the voice of their opposition using lies and deceit. Maybe Ladd can show us on a doll where the dangerous insurrectionist touched him. That might explain all his hate. 

Gun control activism in action. Remember this whenever they call for a 'conversation'.

Update:  They've also done one of their classic hit pieces against Sebastian TBFKASIH.  Their Jerry Springer audience rejects continue to call for the arrest of political opponents.

 So 'gun violence' is fine as long as it's people of a different political stance. And throw in some racism for some filler. Ladd should be proud.

How Chicago Votes

We have a Congressman who disappeared, only to turn up weeks later at the Mayo Clinic in MN w/ 'Bi-polar Disorder'.

He is currently under investigation for campaign fraud and was seen partying in DC ( a really good idea for someone w/ BPD *sarcasm*) while still not working.

Now he's back at the clinic for more 'evaluation' and another possible stay. All the while collecting a paycheck from the taxpayers.

Mr. Jackson has the support of 58 percent of prospective voters, compared with 27 percent who support Republican Brian Woodworth and 15 percent who back independent Marcus Lewis

Does this really surprise anyone? 

How to Raise a Choir Boy

What kind of family tends to create a lifelong criminal w/ a " a criminal past, liked to fight and had been behind bars on and off since he was 17 years old " w/ charges ranging from " assault, theft and domestic violence"? 

Why the kind that, after said criminal gets ventilated while burglarizing a home, goes to the home to confront the real victims and blame them for their relative's stupidity

 the situation could have been resolved differently.

 Boo, frickin' hoo.  You can tell this entire family were a group of enablers. It wasn't boo boo's fault, it was society.  Those meanies in their home should have trusted in him not to hurt them even though he had a long history of violence. The same argument made by gun control groups like the CSGV who believe the homeowners should have a 'duty to retreat'.

This turd was living a lifestyle where it was just a matter of time before he got into a situation where he would end up being room temperature after a few hours. I say the homeowners should sue the family/estate for the cost of a new couch and cleanup.


 

Elliot Fineman Lacking Originality

Shortly after Cook County, IL proposes to impose a poll tax on firearm owners for the actions of criminals and gang-bangers, the NG(V)AC puts up a post calling for gun owners to be taxed.

Over $5 billion tax dollars are used each year to cover the cost of U.S. gun homicides. Non-gun owners’ tax dollars pay the lion’s share of this cost.  This makes no sense; gun owners should pay 100% of this cost.

 I wonder where he gets the 'fact' that "Non-gun owners’ tax dollars pay the lion’s share of this cost."?  Probably the same place he got his 'fact' that Starbucks was losing millions to his 'boycott' and that his organization has 14 million members.

Gun control is a mental illness.

CSGV's Treasonous Actions

Josh Horwitz and Ladd Everitt like to define 'Treason' as 'Contempt of Government'.  What they're really saying is that disagreeing w/ THIS administration should amount to 'treason' because they certainly were contemptuous of the last one:

  In the end, the expiration of the assault weapons ban is another broken promise, and another example of this President's failed leadership. 
"Now it is time for the voters to have their say.  Come November, Americans will tell the President how they feel about a so-called leader who breaks his word to law enforcement.  They will tell the President how they feel about a so-called leader who refused to fight for a landmark public safety law.  And they will tell the President how they feel about a so-called leader who sold out America's public safety for an endorsement by an extreme special interest group."

So by their own definition, Josh Horwitz is a traitor and the CSGV is an insurrectionist group because they endorsed an opponent to a sitting president, which is also a treasonous, insurrectionist activity according to them. 

Will Ladd perform a citizens arrest on his boss for being a 'traitor'?  Of course not because 'Treason' and 'Insurrectionism' can only be performed by those they label as 'Right Wing'.

Too Hot For the Kitchen

Several individuals and groups have covered the fact that gun control's very roots are racist and the fact that Josh Sugarmann of the VPC continues to promote disarming African-Americans for their own safety.

Back in May, GSL reprinted a piece by Kurt Hoffman entitled :
Violence Policy Center’s solution to reduce the black homicide toll: NO GUNS FOR NEGROES

Shortly after, as reported by GSL, an Illinois based firearm company pulled their advertising.

 Shortly after we published the Hofmann piece, we heard from a representative of that company.  After reading the headline (we can’t imagine they actually took the time to read the article, could they?), they told us they would get back to us about that advertising agreement to appear in GunNews.

I guess calling out an anti-gun group that has called for the banning of most of the products the company produces is just to 'controversial'.
