Elliot Fineman : Target Shooters are Terrorists

Even though he runs a 'D' list anti-gun group, he's still a fount of posts. From the same guy who stated that jaywalking is morally equivalent to serial murder/rape comes this dredged up topic:
Along with its partners, NGVAC is now calling for a legislative ban of TrackingPoint firearms and any other guns that use smart scopes from the civilian market.
“A no-skill, can’t miss weapon that will kill from 1,200 yards away? Insurrectionists, terrorists and hate groups thank you, TrackingPoint,” NGVAC said on its website.
Yep.  Fancy, hyper-expensive scopes are only for terrorists.  This is similar to Josh Sugarmann's VPC calling for all scopes, stands, etc to be banned as 'sniper weapon accessories'.

Now if you think about it, this is what THEY imagine that the guns will be used for.  Certainly telling as to their mentality.

Poor Snuffy

He's getting hate mail over his support for banning guns and he and his palls, Sen. Dicky Durbin, Chicago Sup. "Streetlight" McCarty, and Rhambo Emanual don't understand why.
Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Catholic Church — one of the city’s largest African-American churches, said: “Sen. Dick Durbin was at our church Sunday for service and he was talking about how bizarre this all is.
“Even the mayor and [Police Supt. Garry] McCarthy called about their concern,” he added.
Amazing, isn't it?  You do everything you can to strip people of their rights and those people get upset about it.  Who whudda figured?

A 'True Believer'

One of those individuals who's a regular commenter on anti-gun FB pages just proves that one can be willfully ignorant to levels unprecedented in normal society:

The levels of self-deception and partisanship present here are nearly incomprehensible.  That someone could ignore reality to such a point as to make this statement just goes to show which is the real 'cult'.  This is the kind of  'gun/gun owner hate' mindset that firearm owners are up against.  Think there can be any sort of 'compromise' or 'discussion' w/ ones such as this?

While Brady Campaign/Snuffy Phleger Were Protesting A Gun Store

A shooting at a street party in Chicago.  A 73 yr old lady was hit.  The response by locals?
"I know who did the shooting," the woman said with a sneer. "Do you?" The sergeant stood across yellow tape, and a delayed look of bewilderment briefly overtook his face before he asked, "Well, are you going to tell me?" The woman said nothing. She kept walking.
One woman threw a glass bottle at a passing car as someone inside took pictures.
Chaos followed the shooting, with people testing the boundaries of the crime scene on different sides at the same time. The sight of a scuffle or an officer running sent a dozen more off in the same direction as police tried to lock the scene down.
The ambulances lined up on Pulaski, two facing north and one south, and police had to yell at people lingering in the street to move so ambulances could leave.
Hundreds of people harassing the police and stopping ambulances because they thought it was funny. Doing everything they can to STOP any sort of investigation and attempts to end this sort of nonsense.

This isn't civilization, this is Mogadishu. But remember, it's those 'lax gun laws' and 'bad apple dealers' that are the cause of the problems while the same people who make those demands walk around w/ private, armed security (Bloomberg, Watts, J. Jackson, Rahmbo, Daley, Phleger etc. )

More at SCC.

What's Up @ Chuck's?

Via GSL, some photos of the 'protest' at Chuck's guns yesterday:
According to John Boch, the anti-gun rally was denied a permit so they could only approach to about a block away:
The local authorities were polite and cordial to the large amount of customers that showed up at Chuck's:

About 20 media were there. Like I mentioned earlier, all local stuff that will be buried the next time a 'puppy rescues a kitten' story comes up:
Pro-rights side (about 100):
According to John, Rhonda Ezell, instrumental in overturning Chicago's ban on ranges, was asked several times if she wanted a Brady Campaign shirt.  Can we say stereotype boys and girls?
Signs up at Chuck's.  You need a FOID even to enter. But remember, it's all their fault Chicago has crime.

According to reports, the anti's started getting somewhat hostile near the end of their rally.  If what they believed about firearm owners were true, how did any of them survive the experience?

Update.  More photos from GSL including Snuffy's armed security.

Two Tales of a Protest

The Brady Campaign and the violent insurrectionist Father 'Snuffy' Phleger, held a 'protest' against lawful activity and civil rights yesterday w/ about 120 people.

In response about the same amount of pro-rights activists showed up to support local businesses and the COTUS.

Now look at how this was reported in the media.
From CBS:
About 200 protestors and counter-protestors were outside Chuck’s Guns in south suburban Riverdale Saturday morning, the site of frequent protests because of the number of firearms the shop sells legally and which end up being used to commit crimes in Chicago.
A good, balanced article w/ quotes from both sides.

Then there was ABC:
A march and rally helped launch a new effort Saturday to cut down on gun crimes by going after so-called "bad apple" gun dealers.
Dozens of protestors and advocates joined with members of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence outside Chuck's Gun Shop in south suburban Riverdale. They say Chuck's is one of the "bad apples" responsible for selling guns used in crimes.
The fact that an equal number of pro-rights activists were there isn't even mentioned until the end of the article and it is quickly followed up by more anti-gun talking points.

Looking at the longer term effects, this 'protest' was actually counter-productive by the Bradys and Snuffy.  It showed just how weak the BC is by having to partner w/ 'D' list, local activists to get any sort of attendance. It's also going to get nothing but local coverage, quickly forgotten. This is their 'big' current push.

On the other hand, Chuck's got a boost in business as quite a few of the NRA/ISRA/GSL etc. people went in and picked up supplies and ammo as well as seeing those members see first hand just what the anti-gun crowd is about 1st hand.

'Snuffy' Phleger Is Upset w/ ISRA

So a guy who publicly threatened to murder his opponents is whining he's being compared to a group that murders their opponents.

Well if the serrated knife fits......

Riddle Me This...

So anti-gun groups and politicians have railed for years demanding that people (especially gun owners) on the secret and arbitrary 'Terrorist Watch List' and 'No-Fly List' be stripped of their Constitutional rights.

Yet the current administration, whom these individuals act as eternal apologists for and including many of those same politicians (SoS Kerry), does not necessarily consider membership in a recognized terrorist organization to be grounds to revoke ones passport.

Fantasy Coins

Awhile back I missed out on a KS for a selection of 'Fantasy' coins from a company called 'Rare Elements' to use for props for gaming, theatre, displays, etc.  Saw them at GenCon (I got one of their pins) but the booth was gone on Sunday when I went back for my final purchase spree.

Instead I ended up ordering a set each of their 'Elemental' and 'Alignment' coins, 60 coins each.

While shipping took a bit longer than hoped, it's a small company and it's con season so that can be forgiven.  The coins are solid and the casting clean. The artwork on them is beautiful. I think is one of the better sets I've seen out there of which there were three or four at GenCon.

Methinks they will make great game visuals this weekend when I break out the dice again w/ the spawnlings.
