You throw out your 'creds' of being a 'Gun Owner Butt...", an Army Reservist, and a legal expert, then throw out this bit of ignorance...

But I do know this. I’ve owned rifles and shotguns all my life. I’ve hunted from the moment I completed gun safety at the age of 12. I have four sons, three of whom are hunters. My dad is a hunter. My grandfathers were both hunters. One was a game warden. I’ve served in the United States Army Reserve. With all that background and experience around firearms I can tell you this with a certainty: Rifles like the Bushmaster were designed for one purpose and one purpose only: combat. They are not weapons of personal defense. A loaded semi-automatic handgun wielded by someone who has spent time on the firing range will do that job just fine. You don’t need a Bushmaster for target practice. A .22-caliber pump or semi-automatic is more than adequate to keep your shooting eye keen. Assault weapons are impractical for hunting. A Winchester or Marlin lever action 30-30 is a far better choice. If you can’t hit a deer with the first five rounds, you shouldn’t be hunting.

Anti-gun fanatics don't care about 'curbing sales and marketing'

They want to ban your 'hunting'.  They want to ban those 'semi-automatic handguns'.  Deceased Senator Ted 'Chappaquiddick' Kennedy even called your precious 30-30's 'armor piercing' and wanted them banned.  You want to throw out your military creds?  Take a look at this @sshat.  I was in the military longer than you but I'm not a 'hunter'.  The most common target shooting rifle at Camp Perry National Matches is the AR.  But you probably don't know that nor care.

  Let's take a look at the shooting you describe, a criminal defendant managed to get a gun into a courthouse, past  multiple levels of security.  Did he have a criminal past?  You don't say.  But during the situation, the security present failed.  911 failed.  Everything failed. It was a typical 'gun free zone'.  So you use that for a call to ban guns you don't like.

You're a typical anti-gun idiot.  You take your personal tragedy then call for restrictions on something that had nothing to do w/ it.

You can take your 'certainty' and stuff it up those robes of yours.

OGRE Nihon Shipping Update: Weekend the Second

As promised I've been working extra hard to get the Nihon: NAD orders out.  This weekend was a series of serious envelope stuffing session that got it up to 50% or so complete.

That is 80 orders sitting on my assembly line table. 40 more were taken by my mail lady yesterday morning.  I may not make the 100% by Xmas but it's going to be awful close.  At this point it's going to be the complicated orders (Intl, addy changes or dead addresses, etc.) that slow things down plus how long my forearms can hold out. I'm definitely feeling the effect of repetitive motions (ie some tennis elbow).

Yes, I said it.  I appreciate the LTC more than you can imagine. Why?  Because his article is some of the best PR for firearm rights there is.  It's just a few steps below the President calling for more gun control. 

When he rambles on about how many guns he wants to ban, the next thing that happens is all the anti-gun groups start reposting his words saying how he's 'reasonable' and how right he is.  Gives plenty of screenshots and quotes for us to use when they later claim to not want to ban guns and we get a giggle out of watching them dance around trying to explain their words. 

Going on about how much of an 'authority' he is reduces the effectiveness in future military veterans using their creds to try and ban guns due to his extremist, uneducated and ridiculous assertions.

So thank you LTC Bateman.  You've just sold more guns and NRA memberships than a dozen gun shows.

MAIG Faking More Members?

A few months ago, a bunch of new 'members' showed up under IL on the 'Mayors Against Guns' website.  Unlike previous ones, these weren't hyperlinked to the cities' own sites.  Looking them over, many of them seem suspicious., the names listed don't match up w/ the mayors/etc. that the townships claim:

For example:  Lake Zurich, IL.  Their website lists Mayor Tom Poynton but MAIG has it down as "
Village President Suzanne Brandint".  

MAIG actually has TWO 'Lagrange Park', IL's listed. Village President Julia Cedillo and
Village President James L. Discipio.  The Lagrange website lists Discipio.  

Hampshire, IL.  MAIG has listed 'Village President Doug Maxninck' but the city site has it as '
Jeffrey Magnussen'.

These are just the examples I've been able to check out so far.  So are all these townships wrong on their sites, or is MAIG playing fast and loose w/ the truth to artificially inflate their numbers.  Seeing the trend in anti-rights activism lately, I know where I would put my money.

Somehow I doubt that.  Did he happen to mention his group wants to ban most semi-autos?  Force all sales to go through FFL's which Bloomberg is also trying to sue out of existence?  That his 'background checks' also include a defacto registry, the same kind of registry NYC is using to confiscate guns they declared 'illegal'? No? Didn't mention any of that? Didn't think so.

Nihon Shipping Day 2: Packing Party

The guy that's been painting all my mini's came down today to help package up OGRE DE Nihon sheets.  I had spent most of yesterday printing out packing slips and address labels.

After hours of game talk and work, this is the result:

A nice chunk of orders to be taken to the PO tomorrow after the day job.  He also brought down some mini's he's painted for me.

His reward for all this work (plus some of the other painting he's done for me)?  His own copy of OGRE KS edition and several Nihon sheets.

Maybe one day I'll actually find the time to punch out all the counters and play.

Theft, vandalism, defamation, outright deceit.   These are the core tactics of those who attempt to claim the moral highground while calling for 'reasonable' laws.

Blame The Gun

Typical Chicago headline:

2 men held without bail on charges they fired rifle out car window

So we should blame the gun. 

 Two men were ordered held without bail Thursday on charges that they fired an AK-47-style rifle out the window of a car as they drove around the city’s West Side this week, striking one man and partially paralyzing him, authorities said.

So blame the gun.

The men jumped out of the car and started fleeing south through a nearby alley before officers caught up to the two and arrested them five minutes later, police reports stated. Through an open window, an officer also spotted the assault rifle on the back seat floor of the car.

So blame the gun.

Both men were charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm, both felonies. Hill was also charged with a felony count of being an armed habitual criminal.

 So blame the gun.

Boyd has seven previous felony convictions and Hill has four, Dibler said.

 And we know the only response by 'gun control' advocates will be to blame the gun. 

OGRE shipping Day 1

First day of shipping the Nihon pieces.  I think I've figured out most of the snags and have plenty of supplies. Main issues were Paypal locking up and getting payment through the USPS for orders.  After several hours, 25 orders were ready to go to the post office.

Yes, I know, there's only 20 in the box. 

A friend of mine is supposed to come over this weekend to assist in packaging so hopefully a nice chunk of them will go out.
