Shannon Watts: Terrorist Gun Owners Will Shoot and Rape You

Even though they can only get 4 people to show up to a state-wide membership 'meeting', this is the leader of one of the most prominent anti-gun groups in the US today.

This is her view of pro-rights activists who MDA dishonestly claimed were 'threatening' them.

The reason that the moms in Dallas were so intimidated by the counter-protest outside, she told me, was that Open Carry Texas is “like the Taliban” and could feasibly have planned to open fire. “You don’t honestly believe they were going to shoot you?” I asked.“I have no idea why you would actually assume that,” Watts replied. “You never know with these mass shootings. I don’t know who these people are. I don’t know if these people have had background checks. Or if they have had any training.” Watts also suggested that Open Carry Texas was full of people who might rape the women involved in Moms Demand Action.

Seriously?  She assumes that a bunch of people protesting her unconstitutional beliefs are going to shoot and rape her in front of their wives and kids?  What does she think it was, an Occupy rally? 

And remember, this isn't just some random person on the internet like she tries to use as her justification for this paranoia but the LEADER of the organization, the one who decides which laws are 'reasonable' and 'common-sense' for her group to push for.

Yes, boys and girls, they are this sick in the head. Gun control is a mental disorder.

Metcalf Still Doesn't Get It

No you dipsh!t, it's about you playing right into the hands of the anti-gun groups by supporting their calls for 'compromise' and 'discussion' in order to pass more gun restrictions. Had you ever actually read anything they've said or done over the last decade or so, you might have realized there is no 'compromise' except what they want us to give up.  You may notice that they're pretty much the only ones backing you during this.

But the stupid continues:

“I do not believe,” he said, “I cannot personally or philosophically believe that refusing or forbidding discussion of significant issues of any kind because of fear that somebody else might take advantage of it or hold it up as a matter of political weakness should ever close peoples’ minds or close the door to reasoned discourse.”

Again, had you paid ANY attention, EVERY law that the anti's get passed is followed up immediately by another, even stricter law.  When we do try to 'discuss' w/ them, they immediately start demanding we give something up and then end up blocking/banning us when we don't roll over and give them what they want.

Oh, and 'reasoned discourse' is exactly the phrase the Brady Campaign used as an excuse to shut down debate on their now defunct blog. Telling how much he likes their terminology.

Around 15:00 he goes on about wanting a conversation w/ gun owners about 'reality' and how the IL CCW bill only got passed by being filled w/ a bunch of crap instead of a clean bill. This is true, it wouldn't have gotten passed clean but then there's this thing called 'strategy'.  If you go public claiming you're willing to accept restriction 'X', then the gun banners will read that and then push for X, Y and Z because they know they can get at least one then will move onto the other ones.

Around 20:00 he goes on about all rights are 'regulated' although he claims to support 'shall not be infringed'. Here's the thing skippy, in many areas like CA, NY, NJ, etc, they've effectively been 'regulated' out of existence.  It was those 'compromises' and 'regulation' that led the the Chicago handgun ban which lasted for nearly 30 yrs. Try and remember that.

"Safe Storage" = Home Searches

Remember how we're called 'paranoid' and 'extremist' for claiming that firearm regulations regularly lead to abuses by the gov't and a loss of civil rights?  It's all in our minds as we imagine black helicoptors and heavily armed 'police' invading our homes to search for our guns.

Selectman Barry Greenfield would like to give police the authority to inspect gun safety at people's homes.

The irony is that this is occurring in MA, the very state where the American Revolution started for just these same reasons. The very reason that the 4th Amendment was written into the Constitution.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. 

 So according to Barry Greenfield, owning a firearm is 'probable cause' for a home search.  I guarantee this won't be the last anti-gun fanatic politician proposing such a measure.

Mosin Twins Cleanup Day 1

There are others who have done much more intensive reconditionings of M44's than I but this is my endeavor so.... 

Today I disassembled the 1955 build of the two.

It took a high torque drill to get the bayonet screw off but the others were easier.  There was a lot more crud on/in it that I originally thought.  Whoever unboxed it cleaned the cosmoline out of the barrel and off the outside but that was it. Even the magazine had a thick coat. Thankfully there was a lot less rust than I thought though. Some 0000 steel wool took any spots off and there were only two areas where it was pitted, neither of which are critical.

I don't plan on stripping/refinishing the stock so I cleaned it off w/ hot water and some dish detergent to get off all the oils/dirt.  Tomorrow, I'm going to treat it w/ a lemon oil wood preservative, disassemble/clean the bolt assembly and start on the 1956.

Lockport IL IAFF Local 1544 is raffling off some guns to raise money for the firehouse and a local food pantry. All winners must go through an FFL and background check.  Apparently that's not enough.

The nutballs at the NGAC have likened that directly to arson and murder. 

This week Oregon City police said an 88-year-old man set fire to his house as a lure and fatally shot a volunteer reserve police officer. Last Christmas Eve, a convicted felon in Webster, NY set fire to his house and shot four firefighters, two fatally. Four days later an Alabama man lured and shot at firefighters and in March an arsonist/gunman in Herkimer, NY did the same thing. Undaunted by links between arson and gun violence, you raffled off 12 guns this year to raise money. The grand prize is a Smith and Wesson AR-15 assault rifle. What?

The ICHV claims it will result in more 'accidents and suicides'.  Can there be any 'discussion' or 'compromise' w/ people who are inherently opposed to ALL firearm ownership no matter their PC claims to the contrary?

Illinois Double Standards

While at the same time the IL legislature is voting to increase the rights of one group (gay marriage which I support), they are also voting to try and create countless more criminals by making a 'mandatory minimum' sentencing for not having a FOID/CCW card (SB 1342).  Problem is, the FOID card system is so broken most people don't get their cards renewed w/i a 6 month period because of delays.   The CCW law is so convoluted that walking one foot in the wrong direction could them make you an instant felon.

If you think I'm being paranoid, SA Alvarez has openly stated she believes no-one should own a gun. Think her office will be fair and unbiased when it comes to prosecution?  Instead of catching and locking up real criminals, instead the courts will be filled w/ those who didn't see the 'No Guns' sign at their bank or who forgot their license at home.

That's 'Justice'.It's pretty sad when you can forecast just how (not if but when) a law will be abused the the authorities.

Why I Oppose 'Universal Background Check' Laws

Beyond the fact that only .01% of prohibited persons are prosecuted is this...

It will never be 'enough'.  Take a look at this article claiming the usual panacea of UBC's (using BS claims from the Brady Bunch) and how unreasonable, robot-like, and in denial we gun people are for opposing such a common-sense measure. 

Why won't we just 'compromise'? 



In Illinois, we've had UBC's for years in the form of the FOID card.  Yet that hasn't stopped the anti's for pushing for even more.  They fought for years for ALL sales to go through FFL dealers (while at the same time trying to shut down as many FFL's as they could) and finally got a 'voluntary', watered down version following the passage of the CCW bill.  It hasn't stopped them from trying to ban semi-autos, magazines, CCW, etc. It hasn't stopped them from trying to push additional licensing for handguns, registration of all firearms, 'safe storage' or any other myriad of laws they think might stick if they throw it against the wall.

They will never stop trying to pass more so-called 'reasonable', 'common-sense' laws which offer nothing to firearm owners in return and which only effect those who aren't currently criminals to begin with.

I will not give them another nibble of my 'cake' no matter how many blood drenched diatribes they post or how many times I'm called a baby killer by those who choose to give the state total power of life and death.

Not another bite.

The Truth Hurts: Elliot Fineman Enables 'Reasoned Discourse'

After years of calling them on their lies/nonsense and showing just how ignorant their supporters are, they went and banned me.  I guess the 'final straw' was remarking on this comment (which has been left up):

Update:  Unsurprisingly, I'm not the only one.  A number of other pro-rights commenters have been blocked/banned and countless posts removed.  Yet more like the one above remain. They are in full RD mode.

Translation: Chinese Army Guns and a Hat

Show is over.  Fair but people are still being tight w/ their spending.  Mostly hats sold w/ a couple of good sized toy purchases. 

I managed to pick up a few goodies. One of the dealers had a pair of Chinese M53 copies of the M44 Mosin-Nagant.

Dated 1955 (top) and 1956 (bottom), they are both is good condition but are absolutely filthy.  Some rust but it's all surface and just covered in crud.  Next weekend I'm going to disassemble them, take some 0000 steel wool to those areas and clean the hell out of all the nooks and crannies and the wood. Follow that up w/ lots of oil and wood preservative should make them look a lot better.

Chinese PLA 'Mao' cap (modeled by 4thPower Bravo's head) w/ a few baubles pinned on. Neat addition to my Commie gear collection.
