Judges who oppose gun bans "Extremist"

According to the Brady Bunch and a group called CREDO :

HELP STOP THE APPOINTMENT OF EXTREMIST JUDGES
Our partners at CREDO Action urge you to contact the Senate Judiciary Committee Chair

Dear Thirdpower,

The United States Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling soon in District of Columbia v. Heller, which promises to be the most significant Second Amendment case in U.S. history. The Heller decision will affect the constitutionality of gun laws for a generation.

As we wait for the decision in the Heller case, our partners at CREDO Action have asked us to forward this alert to you. They are asking you to protect our nation's gun laws by making your voice heard on President Bush's judicial appointees. We hope you read it over, and if you agree with CREDO, take action.

No More Second Amendment Extremist Judges
Tell Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Leahy to block the appointment of federal judges who are hostile to reasonable gun control laws.

Take Action Now!

Dear Brady Campaign Member,

George Bush has only nine months left in office; he and his allies are still trying to ram through a set of judicial nominees that could run the courts for the next 50 years.

The Heller case before the Supreme Court is a reminder of the importance of federal judicial nominations to preserving hard-fought legislative victories against the gun lobby. The battle against gun violence is fought in courts as well as in legislatures. We must be vigilant to prevent the appointment of judges who will enforce an extremist reading of the Second Amendment.

So I hope you'll take action today to ensure that Congress will block the appointment of federal judges who are hostile to reasonable gun control laws.

Thank you for working to build a better world.

Sincerely,
Will Easton, Activism Manager

Thanks to CREDO Mobile (formerly Working Assets) for taking the lead on this important issue. We hope you consider taking action.

Sincerely,

Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence

So remember folks. The Brady Campaign in no way advocates gun bans except to call for various gun bans, smearing legislators who oppose their "reasonable" laws, and lobbying for judges that will support and uphold them. Recognizing the 2A as a right of the people and following the words of the Founding Fathers is considered "extremist".

In one of those little bits of irony, the "parent company" , WorkingAssets, has a group called the Center for Constitutional Rights listed right below the Brady Campaign(under Civil Rights no less), an organization dedicated to restricting rights and upholding racist and discriminatory laws .

I posted this over at HuffPo but it's stuck in the mods right now.

I can't believe Doug lied to us.

Note to Brady Campaign staff: Make sure the right hand occassionly looks over and checks what the left hand is doing.

Otherwise, you might look silly.

We do not need more gun control and reasonable regulation, you dopes, maybe try getting judges that actually lock up criminals instead of plea bargains.

Funny, I was just having a conversation with someone on the topic of banning guns. I made the point that it is a human issue, where there is a will, there is a way. And they said, yes, but you won't get mass murders sprees. Just one or two dead in a knifing. And I agreed.

GUESS WHAT!!!! We both just got proven WRONG!!!

7 killed in Tokyo

(article references the increase in knife attacks, including a case of 8 children killed in an elementary school near Osaka.

"extremist" = those who interpret the words as they were written by the founders.

"ram through" = use the traditional means ascribed by the Constitution. And try to get judges appointed even when such bent and twisted tactics like constant filibustering is used.

You don't even know about how guns and crime work. Illegal gun dealers just make more money on their sales. Which means the criminals need to rob, steal, and thieve more to make their money.

As for gun laws, recently a Philly police sergeant was murdered. This was NOT the fault of the gun. It was the fault of "liberal judges". The three men involved have over 25 pages of criminal rap sheets. The trigger-man had nearly a dozen prior illegal firearm charges. We're NOT talking about gun control laws. But criminal laws. These men should never have been on the street to begin with. And frankly, since liberal judges are letting men like this lose - it only proves my need to carry a firearm. If the police aren't safe from our judges - NO ONE IS!!!
