Don't they know handguns are banned in Chicago?

Gold Coast resident tries to clean the gene pool

A 23-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the face early this morning in a Gold Coast high-rise, Chicago police said.

The man was with family members in his apartment, in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street, at about 12:10 a.m. when the "small-caliber" gun discharged, police Capt. Ken Angarone said.

Police said the man probably would be charged with possessing an unregistered firearm and not having a firearm owner's identification card, both misdemeanors.

I'm betting it's not his first.

Drug deal gone bad?

A 27-year-old man was found shot and killed early this morning inside a sport-utility vehicle in the West Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The victim was found with a bullet wound to his head at about 1 a.m. in the 5700 block of South Hoyne Avenue, police said.

1am. Doesn't live nearby. High crime area. Hmmmm. Let me think.
