Gun Show AAR

Sales were brisk to say the least. Common statements by vendors were 'Best weekend ever' and "I broke my record".  This wasn't all do to hard core 'gun nuts' either. Quite a few new gun owners and 'moderates' made up the queue.  Handguns, EBR's, magazines and accessories were the big sellers across the show and I know that the various pro-rights groups signed up dozens of new/renewing members.

While some of it was due to the holiday season, much of it was due to the expectation of more restrictions coming down the pipeline. So far the response by the anti's has mostly been severe hostility online w/ only little physical action while the politicians are dusting off every and any anti-gun bill they can dream of.

This can go either way. The public's attention span is small and there are still a lot more gunnies than there are anti's no matter how loud they get and their clearly shown insanity can work against them.

It's going to be a long season.

More Classy Responses

Calling for the murder of NRA members and their children along w/ a healthy dose of misogyny. 

Like I said yesterday, these responses have nothing to do w/ grief over the loss of the children and teachers in the school. Instead it is merely an excuse for them to vent their pent up rage and bigotry. Most people who are anti-gun ARE anti-gun because they know what they would do with one if they lost their temper.

Nevermind the politicos dancing in the blood trying to get their pet laws passed.

Another School Shooting. Another 'Gun Free Zone'

Another state with highly restrictive laws.

All soon to be followed by the blood dancing by the gun control advocates as they call for more laws/bans/restrictions that would have done nothing to stop the scum who did this.

More calls blaming all firearm owners for being heartless, insurrectionist traitors for now kowtowing to all the stupid suggestions that the ignorant and fearful make.

One can already see the hysterical mindsets and lies of 'gun control' advocates coming to the forefront.

children in Newton, CT today.  Or in any of the days when and where gun
owners killed innocent children; WHERE GUN OWNERS KILLED INNOCENT CHILDREN.

Comments like these have nothing to do w/ grief over this incident, they have to do w/deep held hatred, bigotry and stereotypes just like the commenter at TBFKASIH and the phone call to GSL.

Now contrary, already today while running some errands I've had half a dozen people who know I'm a 'gunnie' (but aren't hardcore themselves) say to me that CCW could have done something.This is going to be ugly.

Now Quigley's your typical anti in that his idea of 'common-sense' is outright bans on legal firearm ownership.  So yeah, he's nothing but another clueless moron who thinks it's the fault of those who are already following the law that Chicago has 5x the homicide rate of the rest of the state because we're driving pickup trucks full of machine guns into the city and handing them out in grade schools.

This is the kind of idiot that gets elected in Chicago.

IL Concealed Carry Ban Ruled Unconstitutional

Shepard/Moore v Madigan came down today w/ a MAJOR bitchslap to the anti-gunners.

From the decision via the ISRA Alert:

The theoretical and empirical evidence (which overall is inconclusive) is consistent with concluding that a right to carry firearms in public may promote self-defense. Illinoishad to provide us with more than merely a rational basis for believing that its uniquely sweeping ban is justified by an increase in public safety. It has failed to meet this burden. 

So now the legislature has 180 days to try and screw us over leading to more lawsuits visa-vi the way Chicago handled McDonald.

StG-44 At Gun Turn-In

Lady turns in $30K rifle to 'buyback'. The cops actually were cool about it and are getting her to sell it instead of ripping her off.

I'm also glad such a rare piece of history has been saved. My question is w/ the ATF and its licensing since it's a fully auto firearm and I'm betting it's not registered.  Are they going to try and screw her over or will this get some sort of exception?
