Private Sales and Background Checks

I'm often lambasted by gun control advocates for opposing the 'reasonable, common-sense' measure to have all firearm sales go through FFL dealers for an NICS check.

This is why:
"We had a fellow who wanted to open a gun selling business and we said no way," said Trustee Dominic Falagario...

As a result, an ordinance reenacting weapons dealers licensing and amending associated fees and penalties was approved at the Feb. 9 board meeting. The ordinance further states that the villages' current weapons dealer licensee must cease doing business in the village no later than April 30, 2013.

When I've countered that while the same time the push is for all sales to go through FFL dealers, there is a simultaneous drive to reduce and eliminate as many firearm dealers as possible, I'm called paranoid.

Guess not.

No FFL dealers, no legal firearm sales/transfers.

That is their goal.

Same with the California attempts to ban lead ammo, as well as ban any non-lead ammo as "Armor Piercing". Or Ms. McCarthy's "Barrel Shrowd" that essentially made ALL semi-auto long-guns "Assault Weapons" .

And of course I don’t need to remind you how Chicago "Banned" Handguns. They required licenses, then closed the licensing office.

They want to ban all guns. They know they can't do that, so they aim for shit like this.

I had just said something similar on crazy old Joan's page. She thinks we're being paranoid about door to door confiscations, which aren't that likely. What we're concerned with is that they're just going to keep making the laws and cost of ownership a hassle so that we give up.

It's an excellent point, Third.

Thanks for the inspiration, and for the linkage.

Always try to collect weapons dealer licensee to start a business regarding weapons, when your license expires, the renewal of that license should protect you. Thanks a lot.
