Yep, even if Bloomie spends all his money on a miracle machine that will undo all guns in the universe and make it so they can't be re-invented, he'll still have streets crawling with criminals, and we'll have the age old conundrum:
"What's more dangerous? A citizen with a Conceal Carry Permit and a loaded gun, or a career criminal with a screwdriver?"
That's one of those questions the Antis never answer.
Far be it from me to say in defense of Bloomberg (spit), but $30K a year won't even cover the payroll taxes and benefits for a NYC cop, let alone their actual salary.
Realistically, it's going to be closer to $150K each when all is said and done, especially when you factor in the extra overhead (cop cars, office space, bullets for spraying, etc) and administration.
So, that means more like 10 extra cops and only for one year unless he spends that kind of money every year. Still better than nothing.

Too bad it doesn't come out of Hizzonor's own pocket, instead of the taxpayer's coffers.
But that's the progressive/liberal/socialist/etc way, to "help" others by using YOUR money.
