How was the lecture presented? Was it a "this is one side and this is the other" type of lecture, or did he/she get into statistics and evidence supporting/opposing either side?
It was a discussion on the BOR. She didn't go into stats or evidence but asked relevant questions as to how different legislation can be defined and what its effects could be. She also showed that she had actually read Heller by her comments on it.
