Is Anyone Really Surprised?

Guy in NY goes to the hospital for severe insomnia.  Next thing he knows, his firearm permit is revoked and his guns confiscated w/ no due process except to sue.

Yet I get called 'paranoid' and a 'conspiracy theorist' when I say that these things can and do happen.

I get called a danger to society and an 'insurrectionist' for opposing firearm laws because I see how they will be abused by anti-gun fanatics.

Now assuming that the lawsuit is on the up-n-up, will anyone try and defend this decision by the authorities?

As long as it eventually gets remedied in court it's OK for the antis. Never mind the costs in time and money, and whether the victim has either to spare.

We really need to restructure how the courts work. It's a little dream that I have about justice.

When someone is accused of a crime and found innocent or if a right is infringed, the state needs to pay the defendant plus damages so as to deter the state from unneeded litigation.

So, by my logic, the grieving parents who are suing Bushmaster should be fined when they lose their prohibited lawsuit. I know it is cold and callous, but not nearly as much as their effort to deprive me of my God-given right to defend myself with the best tools that are available.

@Braden Lynch

Exactly. Just the bare minimum of filing something in court or getting a lawyer to consult with can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, which is a lot of money for most people. It really is set up so that the little guy gets screwed unless he's willing to go bankrupt trying to defend himself.

And statists wonder why people with depression/insomnia/etc. do not self-report to medical professionals. Because you are then 'on the list'.

The incident with the gun owner in NY. Has that actually been verified? Seems to me I read on a Blog over a year ago, a very similar happening in NY.
