And they Teach Our Children

Anti-gun activists demand schools be 'gun free' and that signs are clearly posted showing that.

Anti-gun school officials complain about the signs because people are derp and guns are scary.

I'm not kidding:
Nolan said she is not opposed to posting it, she’s just worried that not enough people are aware of what it means and could misinterpret the new signage.
Really?  If someone doesn't know/can't figure out what a red slash through an image means, they shouldn't be allowed outside unsupervised or hold sharp objects.

But that's not all the stupid:
High School Principal Theresa Nolan said. “It is bothersome to have to post a sticker of a gun that says, ‘Hey, folks, leave your guns at home.’ ”

Nolan, and others, take issue with the sticker’s design.
“I would have appreciated something more subtle, yet still recognizable — a logo, perhaps, not a gun,” she said.
“You can’t look at this (sticker) and not think about Sandy Hook,” she said,
Maybe because SH was a 'gun free zone' as well?  But nevermind that.  Principle Nolan... You are a dumb@ss and should not be involved in education.  I feel sorry for the poor children you have 'educated' if this is the kind of critical thinking you've instilled in them.

The answer is at the end; they'd just rather not have to think about it. They'd be happier pretending there's no such thing.

My school was posted when I started working there 5 years ago . . . guess they're ahead of the curve.

Really illustrates the mentality doesn't it.

And thanks.

I sympathize with the woman who doesn't like the signs, but I think she just expressed herself wrong. When you see a sign like that, it implies that the location is somehow UNSAFE. The same way they only put up "slippery when wet" signs after there have been a few accidents.

I don't like those signs on schools ( or anywhere for that matter) either because they are advertising it is a SAFE ZONE for those hell bent on doing harm. Amazing that these people think this is what's going to prevent the next tragedy. Yea point out to the nut case that it's a gun free zone, I am certain they'll comply...........
