I always wondered why groups such as the "Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence" focus exclusively on "Gun Violence" Is that a special kind of violence, demanding some type of emphasis? Is dead from a gun different than dead from being stabbed or beaten to death? Are other types of violence OK to these groups? Boy, if we could just get rid of this "gun violence". Then we could all live the Land of Oz.

That is indeed the impression these folks give. In fact, if Thirdpower will forgive me spamming my column, I once wrote about both the Brady Campaign and the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence complaining about government attention being paid to a savage murder by beating (with railroad ties), rather than "gun violence."

Subscribe to their mailing list. It'll keep you up to date on what they're up, to, plus cost them a little for postage. Small effort, but if enough did this, it might add up. Imagine breaking their bank on postage!

Maybe they hope they'll get excessive postage from the witless criminal supporters, and criminals, the only actual beneficiaries of the Brady Campaign for Victim Disarmament, that they can steam off and reuse.

Too bad. I got a Credit card application from a firm who I cancelled a card because of bad service. They sent me an application with a pre-paid envelope. I filled it with sand and mailed it back to them. The mailings stopped!

Too bad, I would love to donate a 1984 Chevette to them postage-free!

Find one of these envelopes (sign up if you have to).

Take some lead bullets, either melt them or pound them with a hammer to make a lead sheet. 3 or 4 ounces should be plenty.

Drop it in the mail, either at a remote box or the PO. Do not mail from home.

The PO will deliver it postage due so they can collect their money.

Rinse and repeat.

Pre-paid envelopes are more fun because you can tape them to a box of bricks. The PO charges for the weight.

A stamp costs, what? $0.44?
I would send a hand-written note detailing how I intended to send them 43 this year, but after the cost of the stamp, they owe me a penny.
