A day in the life...

So I managed to score an internship at the Brady Campaign out here on the West Coast with their MMM chapter in Eugene, Oregon. I put in 2 hours each day, unpaid of course, after a real job which allows me the financial freedom to spend my free time exploring…uh…interesting creatures.

After receiving the “50 cent tour” of their basement facilities by someone I couldn’t guess the gender of, I was briefed on what the average day consisted of in support of gun-control.

I work my usual 8-9 hours at a paying gig and show up at 3:30pm…

3:30-3:32.……the proverbial 2-minute hate where we all sit naked in a circle and swear like drunken sailors about the NRA while burning incense and melting butter with our body heat. I like swearing for proper emphasis and enjoyed teaching them a few new renditions of themselves. As far as the smell of burning sage/rosemary and clinching a cold cube of “I can’t believe it’s not illegal” between my butt-cheeks, I was actually starting to wonder if I had taken the wrong path in defending the COTUS.

3:32-4:00pm is spent doing google searches for “CCW murders” and “racist Tea-party horse sex.” I asked a question about that second one but dropped the matter after they snatched away my cube of butter.

4:00-4:15pm is spent on the philosophical implications of a coinciding 10% unemployment rate with the fact that the Brady Bunch can’t find a new CEO. I chimed in that perhaps a $250,000 salary for saying stuff easily refuted by other stuff said by the exact same person wasn’t really a winning strategy.

4:15-4:30pm is spent patting ourselves on the back for being merged with the Brady Campaign rather than suffering the total humiliation of being part of the VPC or CSGV.

4:30-4:45pm is spent editing videos to hide the number of audience members at gun-control events and their applause.

4:45-5:00pm is spent weeping uncontrollably.

I was told that I could advance to a paid position of I could crap my pants on demand in front of some theoretical camera…and find someone to pay for it.

So that’s where I’m at folks. I try to post when the mood suits me, but if I have the opportunity to practice pinching a loaf in my shorts for cash…well…you’re just gonna have to wait until this gold mine pans out dry.

Uhmmmmmm….butter.

Professionalism: PEGheads Don't Have It

The Brady Intern must be helping Abby Spangler of Protest Easy Guns.

Maybe they should change their name to Protest Easy Spelling.

This screen cap is from their latest video of an 8ry old using provided talking points for the 'cute' factor.

Instead of teaching my 8 yr old kids fear and lies, I'm teaching them safety and to enjoy the shooting sports. Isn't it nice that they lie to their children to push their political agenda?

More From 'Citizen Dave'..

The former mayor of Madison, WI and MAIG member has this to say about the millions of people who legally carry firearms:
they're scared, paranoid or have some kind of Superman complex.
Sebastian TBFKASIH calls him a 'fraud', not a Fudd. I call him both. He is typical of your gun control elitist. He has no problems throwing millions of other firearm owners 'under the bus' as long as he can keep his TWO (count 'em), TWO guns. One of which being an intermediate sniper rifle in a military caliber. Then he can have his private 'sportsman' club where he can keep his guns locked up there and never have to worry about all the unwashed masses having the same privileges as him.

UPDATE: And reader DYLAN! notes that 'Dave' also believes anyone who wants to protect themselves in an urban area is obviously racist. That must explain why MAIG co-founder and former Chicago Mayor Daley demanded 24/7 taxpayer funded security even after he retired.

It's 95% Now?

In the usual speils about how 'Fast and Furious' means we should give the BATFE MORE authority, the Utah AG and former AG make up some statistics:
About 95 percent of weapons recovered from murders in Mexico were traced to the U.S.
95%?! Really? How do they make these numbers up?

His whole position is odd in that Shurtleff signed an Amicus Brief in Heller and opened up a lawsuit against the BATFE regarding instate firearm manufacturing.

Working To Our Advantage...

Sometimes you really have to love fanatics. Their foaming-at-the-mouth rants and over-the-top rhetoric tends to have the result of turning people away from their cause, even those that tend to agree w/ the basic principles of the cause. Take for example this 'authorized journalist':
The National Rifle Association, that well-funded protector of the people's right to keep and bear arms, is also a felon's best friend...

..our elected officials who've allowed NRA self-preservation to take precedence over public safety considerations are complicit in criminal acts of violence that target children.

..it's time to expose the NRA for what it really is: a front for illegal gun sales.

In between, he follows the standard theme. Throw in a few emotional arguments followed by some 'facts' arranged in a way that the 'average' person doesn't notice all the laws that were already broken unless they do some research. But what's going to stick in their heads isn't the facts and figures but instead the radically hostile phrases above and they're going to start questioning the integrity of the writer.

Odds are good the 'average' reader knows some NRA members, is a member themselves (that helps when an organization has a membership of 4m+) or they voted for those 'complicit' elected officials. Most people will take a look at an article written like this and realize just how stupid it is. Then, when they start hearing the same arguments from other gun control fanatics start in on their rants, the people are already disposed to put them in the same category.

Keep writing Mr. Evans, you're helping us out w/ every word.

Not Just Your Average Fudd..

Turns out that the "I'm a gun owner but..." Fudd from the other day isn't just your average, everyday elitist not caring about anything but his own privileges.

'Citizen Dave' is actually the former mayor of Madison, WI and MAIG member.

Wonder what he thinks of the fact that MAIG has a higher indictment/conviction rate of it's member than CCW license holders?

Weekend Wildlife: Dominance

When I set out the camera , I dropped a possum I had 'relocated' 22lr style. Just a few hours later, a flock of Turkey Buzzards flew in for a snack.

Quite a few of them as a matter of fact.

Then a hawk showed up. We see who the dominant predator is.

It left after a while and the buzzards resumed munching.

Then it came back.

MINE!!!

No, The Jobless Rate Didn't 'Dip'..

Headline: Jobless Rate Dips to 9 Percent

No, what it means is 9% of people are collecting unemployment benefits, not that more have gotten jobs. IOW, more people have been out of work for so long, the Gov't doesn't count them anymore.

Lying w/ numbers while they try and ruin the country.

Illinois 'Justice'

Recently, a 14yo girl was stabbed to death after walking in on a goblin burglarizing her home. He took only a few hundred dollars worth of stuff, mostly in the form of her Ipod, cellphone and a bowl full of change. They caught the scum after he started sending the mother harassing text messages from the daughters phone.

This should come as no surprise then:
John L. Wilson spent 17 of the last 20 years in prison, and had been on parole for just 11-1/2 months before his Wednesday arrest in the stabbing death of Kelli O’Laughlin, according to court and Illinois Department of Corrections records.Link
1991: In January, police spot Wilson dealing drugs and chase him, finding a total of 5 grams of heroin in several bags on him. Then in February, police who stop Wilson on Chicago’s South Side for traffic offenses discover the car he’s driving is stolen. They arrest him after a brief chase. He’s sentenced in August to a total of five years in prison.

1993: Wilson paroles out of prison in February. In June, he’s found at his home with eight packets of cocaine. While out on bond in November, he forces his way into the driver’s side of a car by pointing a gun at the driver’s head on Chicago’s South Side. He’s spotted a few hours later by police and crashes the car. While running from police, he drops his coat with the gun in it.

1994: In May he’s sentenced to a total of eight years for both the drug and carjacking cases. He’s sent to prison in June.

2001: While in prison in Downstate Pontiac, Wilson is charged and sentenced for aggravated battery of a prison guard. He paroles out in May but is sent back to prison July 19 for an apparent parole violation, though corrections officials couldn’t say exactly why Friday.

2002: Paroles out in June. In August, he steals the purse of a woman who tries to help him after he rams her car with his bike. As she’s going to give him money and bandages, he grabs her throat and her purse.

2003: Sentenced in May to 11 years in prison for unlawful vehicular invasion.

2010: Released on parole Nov. 16.
Remember the gun controller's mantra. If you give them what they want, they won't hurt you.

Right?

I'm a Gun Owner Butt + Fudd = This Guy

Uncle points to a textbook example Fudd who is perfectly willing to throw all other gun owners under the bus as long as he can keep his 'huntin' guns'. He even quoted Brady Campaign statistics.
I'm not worried that laws clamping down on handguns and automatic weapons will affect my hunting options one bit.
Yet who will he come crying to when his 'hunting options' are reduced by loss of lands, expensive licenses, etc. ? Oh right. All those handgun and automatic weapon owners that support the NRA etc. and have done his heavy lifting for all these years.
Of course I am aware that my hunting rifles can be used to kill people as well as deer and ducks, but they're not designed for that, and that makes a big difference.
I certainly can think of no reason why he should be allowed to own an intermediate power sniper rifle like the Remington 700, do you?
What's needed is a new movement of responsible sportsmen who recognize the fact that there is so much unnecessary death, injury and suffering that goes on in this country thanks to our lax gun laws.
Boy, that sounds familiar. Maybe he should check out the AHSA. The Obama shill 'sportsmans group' that disappeared right after the election and which supported all the gun control schemes he does.

I wonder if this @ss realizes that there wouldn't be any firearms left except for specially licensed hunting clubs for the elite if it weren't for the 'radical' NRA and the millions of firearm owners who finally said people like him were anachronisms. The very reason Harlan Carter staged his 'revolt' back in the 70's.
