Still avoiding anything stressful or political. Just fun stuff.
Friend of mine that I hadn't seen in awhile came over w/ his son and better half to put some lead downrange. Boomsticks of choice were the 10/22, AK, and K98.
The AK trigger was kicking back for some reason which it normally doesn't do. Going to have to look into that more before I take it out again. Also found one of the Mauser casings w/ a cracked neck:
After I warmed up a bit, I then took the Fourthpowers out to use their Ryder BB guns and the 10/22.
Much fun was had.

The no warrant knock.
So I had a weird experience today, which is somewhat unsurprising since I have a weird life in general and I don’t worry too much about it; I just try to laugh at the world and have fun with God’s debris.
The local sheriff knocked on my door along with a female deputy this morning. I opened the door just a crack so my psycho dog wouldn’t run outside and asked what they wanted. They said they were wondering if I would allow them inside to search my home for guns I wasn’t aware of being there. I thought about it for a second while kicking my dog and figured what the hell, I should be able to have some fun with this scenario.
I said that would be fine and informed them that there were a number of firearms inside that I WAS aware of and I would really appreciate it if they could find the 3 or 4 I had misplaced.
“Are any of the guns loaded, sir?”
“Yes, please treat them all as if they’re loaded.”
“No problem, sir, is your dog friendly?
“To friends, yes.”
“It appears she has a mini-revolver on her collar.”
“Yes, I’m aware of that one.”
“OK, well we’d like to start with the bedrooms.”
So I go into the kitchen and start making breakfast and let them roam around when I hear the inevitable…
“DAAAAAAAAAMMMMN”
“See anything you like, officer?”
“I wish the department would let us carry these?”
“Yeah, well it’s a pain in the ass when someone else has the authority to tell you what you can and can’t have for your personal protection, huh?”
“True, dat, how many guns do you own?”
“You’re still in the first bedroom, do you have any medical conditions I should be aware of before I show you the armory?”
“DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMN, is this a gun show or something!?!?!?”
“Naw, it’s just me.”
The above is satire…but with all satire, it contains a truth nugget. Watching the news lately I had a thought. In some communities, the cops see only the weapon, or the person themselves AS A WEAPON and respond with lethal force after a minimal and somewhat ambiguous threshold has been breached.
In other communities, cops will pull over, roll down their window and tell you they wish they could carry on the job what you have on your hip while your out raking the leaves, then wave politely and drive away.
I have far more questions than answers, which I think is true humility when confronting the human condition. Pro-gunners, the antis and the “authorities” are all asking the same question.
“What if…?”
I prepare for the “what ifs” on this blue and green marble we call home. The antis wish to create a world where the question itself is no longer valid.
Which group is being irrational?

A Chest, A Quest, and A Revolution
A good day for geekery in the mail. About two months ago, I supported a KS by 'Dog Might Games' for a custom made dice storage/rolling chest. They promised that the first 100 domestic backers would get their orders by the holidays and, a first from any of the KS's I've been involved in, they kept their schedule w/ some interest. I got it in the mail today and wow was that finish fresh.
It's solid White Ash w/ the 'Ebony' finish, blue felt, and brass filigree corners. I also had a custom symbol added based off of my longest running RPG character's heraldry. It measures 10"x5 3/4"x 1 3/4" w/ a removable lid that can be placed in a notch for use as a rolling screen. The corners all match up, the finish is smooth and even, and the felt is flat. It (the felt) is a bit darker than what is shown on the site which I actually like. The only problem was that the edge trim of the lid had come off during shipping. A touch of wood glue fixed that w/o a problem. I'll likely be getting one of their 'Adventure Cases' when they run that KS in the Spring.
As part of the order, I also got their game 'Livestock Uprising'. Take control of an animal army and conquer the farm. I'll be digging through the rules more over the next few days and spending some time playing this over the holiday break. A cursory once-over looks like fun. More detailed review then.
And finally, for my reading enjoyment, I found a collection of a comic I've wanted to read for a long time, "ElfQuest" on Amazon. Book 1 arrived today while the other two books will arrive at a later date.
I have a few issues of this but was never able to get many more than that so I'm very pleased I was able to find this. I've already read the first few 'chapters' and am enjoying the story.

PSH alert
Well I broke down and bought a gun today. It ticked all the boxes: hella good price, will make the antis howl and I only had one prior to today...so now I have two. In all honesty, my first AR-15 pistol is the Carbon-15 which is a polymer frame, or as I like to call it, my ghost gun which can defeat metal detectors. This is the AM-15, all aluminum frame so technically it's something new. They both are indeed pistols which means I can carry them, with a 100 round drum mag...concealed. Need to get a bigger coat soon.
Yippee for me!
Love Is In The Air
You know a GM (Gamemaster) is truly evil when they go after your loved ones. If there aren't any handy, they'll make one. In my current Palladium Fantasy 1ed campaign, I've been running the same character on and off for near 30 yrs, an Elf LongBowman. Since the GM, the same guy who paints my minis for me, couldn't take out the character directly, he's decided to go at it sideways. He introduced a 'partner'. A female Elf Sailor that goes by 'Alta'. So since she's become a major NPC in the campaign, a mini was required:
The pair together:
Now the other major NPC is an Orc servant by the name of 'Mug'. We've been unable to find a good mini for this as ALL the 'Orc' minis we've been able to find are warriors or fighting in some way. No 'passive' mini's. Any help would be appreciated.
