Being promoted by the media and others who benefit from it like Jackson and Sharpton.
We've all seen the race baiting the in Martin/Zimmerman debacle. The media is just doing what it can to exacerbate it.
The National Review recommends that people don't go where blacks congregate.
Shootings of blacks in OK are being blamed on a 'white guy in a white pickup'. The media will be all over this one.
My bet is we'll have riots, revenge killings and burning cities w/in the next 6 months. I hope I lose that bet but I'm not counting on it.

FOID Fail
From the FOID audit:
At $10/card and up to 3K applications/day, that's over $10 million/year for FOID's. Even on the low end of the applications (1000/day), that's over $3.5m/year.*
Where is all this money going?
There are so many levels of fail in this that I have no idea where to start.
*UPDATE: There is some discrepancy and I have been informed the author may have confused the number of cards /week w/ /day. I'm checking into it.
UPDATE 2: Here's the actual audit report. It looks like the reporter may have added all years together. Based on a 5 day work week, it averaged about 1,200 applications/day in 2010(290K total) which would make 3K/ day a very short period. That totaled about $3m in revenue/year so they spent over a 1/6th of their budget on overtime alone.
The State Police spent nearly $527,000 on overtime pay for employees to process FOID cards between July 1, 2009, and June 30, 2011. Of that, three employees accounted for more than $239,000 of the overtime pay.So over $250,000 in overtime per year. OR, they could have hired 5 more employees at $50K/year and gotten nearly twice as much work out of them for the money. Nevermind that the ISP is only retrieving 30% of revoked cards.
Workers were unable to approve or deny all FOID card requests within 30 days, as required by law. During 2008, 2009 and 2010, only 64 percent of the applications were approved within a month, and only 71 percent of them were denied during the required time frame.
Logs of customer-service calls to the FOID division show that 85 percent of the calls in late 2010 - a total of 29,420 calls - were not answered.

Josh Sugarmann: Gun Salesman Extraordinaire.
Back in the 80's, there was a media generated scandal claiming that the game Dungeons and Dragons caused suicide, devil worship and criminal activity.
Sales of D&D skyrocketed.
Last week, Ladd Everitt and Tim Johnson of the CSGV went on a rampage against 'hoodies' w/ pockets for a concealed firearm. I hand't seen it before they tweeted it to the world. What I did see was quite a few people saying thanks for the info and that they were going to buy one. The people who were 'disgusted' wouldn't have bought one anyway. Net win for the NRA. Thanks guys. BTW, that item is still for sale here.
Now Josh Sugarmann, head of the VPC and licensed firearm dealer, is competing against Obama to be firearm salesman of the year. In his latest Huffpo rant against the firearm industry, he squeals about how CCW is only an excuse to sell more guns. In doing so he gives free advertising to nearly half a dozen companies, reproducing their ads for them.
So how many guns did Josh indirectly sell in comparison to how many people read his article and decided to destroy all their firearms and donate to the VPC?
Thanks Josh, you're a good friend of the NRA.

Wayne Lapierre Burns Down St. Sabina Church
No, not really, but the mental midget that is Father 'Snuffy' Phleger probably has visions of NRA members sneaking into Chicago to light fires on his church's door.
This is the same person that has protested the NRA at non-NRA events, has threatened the lives of licensed firearm dealers and progun legislators, thinks water-pistols lead to a life of crime, and wants to close down stores that 'allow' gang bangers to shop there. As if the stores really have any choice in the matter. Needless to say he's not entirely with it upstairs.

Chicago Crime Skyrocketing. Rep. Bobby Rush Nowhere to be Found
Oh the finger pointing is going hot and heavy in Chicago. Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy last week was not only blaming Illinois firearm owners for Chicago's dismal failure at crime control but also the various commanders, 're-assigning' nearly a half-dozen.
Why this near panic to blame others?
Because murders are up over 35% so far this year as the gang bangers have a field day. What they classify as 'shooting incidents' are up 40%. I'm betting not a single one is by a FOID card holder or Chicago handgun license holder.
So why do they continue to try and punish the people NOT committing the crimes for the actions of criminals? Because they have to blame someone.
And where are Rep. Bobby Rush and the 'Reverends' Jackson and Sharpton? Why still trying to incite race violence in Florida.

Illinois Court Cases
From the SAF:
And C(r)ook county's 'Assault Weapon Ban' case, Wilson v. Cook County, is expected to be decided by the IL Supreme Court Thursday (4/5):
And this is why you should join/donate to the ISRA and SAF.
BELLEVUE, WA - The Second Amendment Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit against the Warren County, Illinois Housing Authority, seeking an injunction against the WCHA's ban on personally-owned firearms by residents of government-subsidized housing.Restrictions like this are intentionally designed to affect the poor and minorities. If this one falls, the the CHA's is next.
And C(r)ook county's 'Assault Weapon Ban' case, Wilson v. Cook County, is expected to be decided by the IL Supreme Court Thursday (4/5):
SPRINGFIELD — The state’s top court is poised to rule on Cook County’s assault weapons ban Thursday in a case that will determine the fate of one of Illinois’ signature gun-control laws. And the Brady Bunch isn't hesitating to spread the PSH:
“You don’t have a constitutional right to pack an AK-47,” said Jonathan Lowy, director of the Legal Action Project at the Washington, D.C.-based Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. “It would be a vast, unwarranted, unjustified expansion of the Second Amendment right that’s recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court” if the ban is struck down.If this is the quality of their legal director, no wonder no-one takes them seriously anymore.

*BANG*!! Oh My Foot!!!
Just like Officer "Only One", I'm betting the Lightbringer is regretting his words to the Supreme Court right about now.
While out the other side of his mouth, he uses 'unelected' bureaucrats in ICE and BATFE et al to circumvent congress w/ fiats allowing illegal immigrants and more gun control.
So people are still supporting him why?
A three-judge panel for the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday ordered the Justice Department to explain by Thursday whether the administration believes judges have the power to strike down a federal law.Outside of his hand-picked puppets like Kagan and Sotomayor, I'ld wager he just lost the support of a large number of 'unelected' federal judges across the nation.

Obama: The Constitutional 'Scholar'
This is the President of the United States, a man who taught what was allegedly Constitutional Law:
That he's either this ignorant of the basic facets of our nation or is intentionally attempting to subvert the Constitution shows that he's an absolute disgrace and has no right to hold the office he's in. Anyone who votes for him after reprehensible comments like these and his 'more flexibility' remarks will now prove that they are as ignorant as he is and care nothing about the foundations of this once great nation, that they are nothing but partisan/racial hacks.
November can't come soon enough, no matter what turd the GOP put up.
The president, adopting what he described as the language of conservatives who fret about judicial activism, questioned how an "unelected group of people" could overturn a law approved by Congress. How could they do it? The way that every child in grammar school is taught about. This thing called 'Checks and Balances' and the reason the Supreme Court IS 'unelected', so they don't have to cater to the whims of political reeds like Obama and his socialist ilk.
"I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress," Obama said.
