From our gift that keeps on giving, Japete/Joan Peterson :
"ridiculous" (on the discussion of gun free zones)
"If only there were guns everywhere, those shootings would not occur" (which noone is arguing except her)
"To me that does not matter" (on 'gun free zones' not working)
"They want to think they can save the day and be a hero for doing so" (who? Oh right, gun owners)
"They feel threatened by all of those people just lurking around every corner" (as she posts links to spree killings, ironic no?)
"the argument of the gun guys is moot." (just a blatant dismissal)
"He was exercising his second amendment rights" (by killing police officers)
"meant to deflect the truth" (her truth)
"hide behind the second amendment" (nice showing of true colors there)
"there is absolutely no common sense to the arguments" (more dismissal and demonization)
This is how the mind of gun control leadership works. Ad hominems, outright dismissals, demonizing of gun owners and CCW/open carry advocates in particular, strawmen, etc. It all, though, boils down to this:
"What I wrote is what I feel"
Exactly. Facts don't matter. Evidence doesn't matter (especially if it contradicts her). Reality doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is how she 'feels' and we are all nasty monsters who want little children to be shot unless we modify our worldview to fit her 'feelings'.
Guess what? I feel differently.

The buck doesn't stop here
What does a movement do when they’re winning?
Have some fun. Some low tech fun at that. While thinking about the interweb tubes, facebook, twitter, texting and all the other neato stuff out there, I stared at my rotary dial phone(yes it’s true, and there‘s a reason) and thought about a new way to connect ala old school.
I’d like to share my idea and I would hope that readers would help spread the word and add your own twist to it.
Starting today, I’m going to start writing memes on my paper money. At first I thought about how cool it would be if each blogger wrote down their blog address on the front and see how many new readers we could gather out of the sheer randomness of how far and wide our money travels. But, with my luck there’s probably some stupid law against using cash itself as an advertising medium so I’m going a little safer.
Right now I’ve got $83 in my pocket and I’m going to write something familiar to us all on each of the four $20 bills and the three $1 bills.
$20 #1...PSH’er
$20 #2...Sad Panda
$20 #3...Reasoned Discourse
$20 #4...EBR
$1 #1...Unpossible
$1 #2...Kiss my GritsJr
$1 #3...DOOT
My hope is that if enough people start doing this, we could have a sort of contest to see who comes across them and how often. I encourage everyone to customize the concept to their liking yet keep it simple enough that most of us, when we see it, will recognize it immediately. Also, a certain percentage of people will be curious enough to google the term and find us.
I always smile when I see another car on the road with an NRA decal on the back window. I think I just might laugh out loud when I see a message from my Brothers in Arms on a greenback…and then I’ll sign it “kaveman found this” and head down to the coffee shop to spend it.
I’ll be looking at my change from Starbucks very closely from now on.

Swedish Meatballs
Or at least how we make them:
Meatballs. Pretty standard. 2 lbs of ground beef plus I added garlic and onion this time.
Mushroom sauce. Cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy mix, pepper, and sprinkled w/ oregano.
Out of the oven. 1 hr at 325f.
And served w/ a side of steamed broccoli in cheese sauce and a glass of whole milk.
Yum.

Disarm the Border Patrol
Because trying to defend against the smugglers will just result in more agents being shot and forcing the criminals to become more violent.
Just give them what they want and they won't hurt us.
Right?

The Gun Control Agenda
The Question:
Now that's an O, not a 0 but we all know what Japete/Joan Peterson means.
The number of firearm related murders in the US has dropped by 10% over the last 5 years w/o any major new 'gun control' laws being enacted and progressive firearm laws continuing to spread across the nation.
Even in countries like China and Japan where effectively all guns are banned, there are firearm murders and deaths.
But even those laws aren't good enough for gun control advocates. They will want MORE.
So remember that when they say they only want 'reasonable', 'common-sense' laws this is their 'goal'. And when those laws don't work, what's next? And next? And after that?
Where do they finally end since the admitted goal is unachievable?

What number of firearm murders or crimes would be low enough for you to say "We don't need another law"?The Answer: "O"

GIGO
From the ISRA.
In one of the current cases against local gun bans/restrictions,Wilson, et. al. v. Cook County, et. al., turns out the lawyers for the county were either ignorant or lying. Their brief misquoted the Heller and McDonald decisions, adding in phrases that don't exist in the decisions and changing their meaning. When this was pointed out to them, they blamed it on 'electronic errors'.
Yeah. OK.
So basically the lawyers made some crap up, got caught and are now pointing fingers. And how many tax dollars are going to defend these regressive laws?

Yeah. OK.
"If I were a cynic," continued Pearson (ED of ISRA), "I'd suggest that these 'electronic errors' were just poorly executed attempts by the Cook County State's Attorney's office to re-write the Heller and McDonald decisions more to Mayor Daley's liking."

SAF Customer Service Win
Last month the SAF ran a fabulous special on memberships. Well about two weeks later a box arrived w/ my Life Member plaque, coupons, stickers, belt buckle etc. The standard benefits. What didn't arrive were the promised specials including DVD's and Books.
I gave it a while longer since the PO has been horrible lately but sent them an e-mail about it yesterday. This was the reply I got:

AHSA Bought and Paid For
Remember the American Hunters and Shooters Assoc.? The group we called another Wolf in Sheeps Clothing trying to convince gun owners to support 'reasonable' gun control? Remember how we wondered where all their money was coming from? Remember how they said they were 'non-partisan' but ONLY supported Gun Control supporting Democrats and judges? Before they went offline AFTER the election that is.
Well the truth is out and really comes as no surprise:
So a guy who gave thousands of dollars to gun control groups, started his own and then supported gun control politicians was paid to do so.
Shock.
No Lawyers and SIH has more on this article.
Well the truth is out and really comes as no surprise:
The Obama campaign paid for Schoenke's travel to 40 events in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and Colorado to address pro-gun voters. As Kurt Hoffman/45Superman put it when he sent this to me : He was damned near a paid employee of the Obama campaign.

A Plant or Just Dumb as a....
I'm certainly of former Lightbringer COS Rahm Emanual. He opposes due process, is a Brady mouthpiece and a Chicago politician in general.
He is currently being questioned to verify his residency status for his run for Chicago Mayor.
And one of the idiots involved is working hard to hand Rahm as much positive publicity as he can.
During questioning there were multiple outbursts from one objector in the room, Jeffrey Black, shouting, "You're under arrest Mr. Emanuel. You're running out of time. Indict Rahm."
So is this twit really that over the top or is he a plant in order to discredit the entire issue?
