Brady Bunch Prepping for Loss in McDonald v Chicago

Amidst all the claims that the 'gun lobby' really lost in Heller, the Brady Campaign, just like the Joyce Foundation, is lawyering up, knowing that they're going to have to fight tooth and nail for every one of their 'common-sense, reasonable' gun laws.

They've been reduced to claiming victory because convicted criminals will use any excuse to claim a twinkie defense. You know, the majority of those 'many' cases Helmke brags about the 'gun lobby' 'losing'. But even he knows the fact that those don't matter. It's cases like Heller and McDonald that are shaping the agenda nationwide and even the lower court cases of significance are generally leaning our way.

And, as usual:

PEG Heads Shooting Themselves in the Foot

Is it really a good idea to promote your cause by highlighting a 'protest' where the attendees of the event outnumber your protesters 1000:1 ? Protest Easy Guns thinks so.

Prosecution of Chicago Criminals

With a third (at least, I've been told there's at least one more that didn't receive press) Defensive Gun Use in Chicago in as many weeks, the Chicago Tribune calls for the prosecution of the victims because they used guns. Never mind that O voted that they should be prosecuted as well.

Here's some interesting facts on the dead goblin involved:

He, along with three other men, had been indicted on armed robbery and robbery charges. But they pleaded guilty before Cook County Judge Michael Brown to robbery in exchange for prosecutors dropping the armed robbery charges, records show.

Wonder when we'll hear the outrage from the trib about that.

At Least They're Consistent..

"We strongly disagreed with the court's 2008 ruling."

That's an understatement.

In 2008, right before the Heller decision, the Chicago Tribune called for the repeal of the 2A. They ignore 5000+ people marching on the capitol only if it supports the rights of citizens to own firearms.

Today they continue their support for the ban and every other useless restriction they can think of.

Yeah, another 'reasonable, common-sense' law that didn't effect criminals in the slightest.

At least they admit they want the recent individuals who defended themselves against violent criminals to be victimized again through prosecution.

Wonder how long it will be before they get a 'bailout' and become a formal puppet of the administration instead of just defacto?

Chicago Apartheid

In an article on how to stay safe in Chicago, there came this little vignette:

"I'd cut through an area under some 'L' tracks to see this girl I dated who lived by Roscoe [Street]," he said. "Guys would be approaching me, and I'm 6-foot-3, bald and intimidating. I'd have to show them my gun."

This was done perfectly legally and after 1982. How you ask. Simple. The individual was Steve Wilcos of Jerry Springer/Steve Wilcos Show fame while he was a police officer for the city.

In other words, a privileged class afforded rights not available to the 'average citizen'. While not based on race as is traditional, it's based on connections and money. You can add Aldermen and the Mayor into this as well.

Who else can rewrite laws allowing them to re-register their firearms or are provided tax-payer funded security armed w/ weapons denied the rest of the population?

It's time for these Orwellian style privileges to end.

Real Common-Sense Revenue Generation and Environmentalism

Too many deer destroying the local flora? Some locals think its a better idea to spend countless tax dollars hiring 'professionals' to shoot deer w/ birth control chemicals.

The Commissioners of the Will County Forest Preserve District in Illinois actually thought about the issue instead of falling for tree-hugging nonsense. Open up the Preserve to hunting. What do you get? Population control and revenue.

But of course there's going to be opposition in the form of people who think guns are scary and those who think it's better for animals to starve and the preserve to be destroyed than let them be shot.

Joyce Foundation Damage Control..

Attorneys for Legal Community Against Violence will host a conference call with political leaders, law enforcement officials and others to brief members of the media on McDonald v. Chicago on the day the Supreme Court announces its decision.

IOW: Spin it like it really isn't a big deal and that it will really a 'loss' for the pro-rights advocates.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat...

A little over a week ago, we had a Chicago lawyer by the name of Saunders spiel on about how SCOTUS should uphold the gun ban, As usual, filled w/ bigotry, half-truths and outright fabrications.

Now that the decision is closer, instead of replying to her many, many critics, pointing out the above, she instead reposts it pretty much verbatim except for adding a new emotional appeal by opening w/ the Kennedy assassination.

Just like Chicago's argument tried to repeat Heller, repeating a nonsense article doesn't make it any more a winner.

PuSH'ers Obsession w/ Rifles and Derrieres

We all know the classic fetish that 'gun control' advocates have w/ firearm owners genitalia, projecting that it must be 'small' if we like guns. There's also a pattern w/ the most insane of them being obsessed w/ the other end and shoving rifles up it.

About 2 1/2 years ago we had an borderline psychotic troll (and CF PA board member) expressing his desire to witness such a thing.

Just recently we had Chicago Mayor Daley, founding member of MAIG, wanting to do the same thing to a reporter.

Classic cases of projection. It's no wonder they're anti-gun. They know what they would do if they were to own them.
