The recent push in CA is SB249, another collection of nonsense, feel good 'model' legislation that would have no effect on criminals in the least while at the same time playing the race card to try and keep opponents of the bill on the defensive.

 Movers?  Pickup money?  Huh?  Time for Google.  I typed in 'kaymaxwlll@gmail.com scam' and got this site. The owner also met the individual under a different name but same email and cutnpaste responses. They had much fun w/ him after he asked for an 'upfront payment' through WU.

Loaded Polls

After Mayor Bloomberg hired a hack polling group to push his 'poll' claiming that most NRA members hate the NRA, he got a little smarter and hired two companies to do a 'poll' after the Tucson shooting.

 It's still a bunch of BS however. (big PDF warning) starts on pg 24.The phone survey carefully guides people using loaded language and buzz phrases to get their results. Some examples:

After telling people about the Tucson shooting, emphasizing how many were killed, how the shooter had a history of issues and used a 30+ rnd magazine. (pg26) (bolding mine)

 Note all the leading terminology and phrasing.  'Terrorists', 'Drugs', 'massacre'.  If these questions were rephrased to emphasize that these laws would apply to people not convicted of crimes and even on hearsay, suspicion or secret gov't lists, the answers would totally change.

You get the idea.  But here's the concept statement that proves the entire poll is garbage:

Yeah right. Half of gun owners would support a national registry?  Not in the world I live in.

According to CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, Bloomberg was invited to the 27th annual event, scheduled Sept. 28-30 in Orlando, Fla., but he turned it down. 

 Because he knows that outside of a compliant media and his bought-and-paid-for sycophants, his inane arguments would collapse, especially among the hundreds of educated, knowledgeable persons present at the GRPC. When his money won't buy the results he wants, he flees like a coward.

Sorry I haven’t been on top of all this mass shooting business but I’ve been busy trying to get a raise at work. I’ve been riding my boss hard for months now trying to show him how important I am and how the business will absolutely fail without me being all fat and happy.

I just don’t know why I’m failing, but this time, this time will be different.

Kaveman: What if I start using capitol letters on FB when I call you a POOPY-HEAD?
Boss: You’re not listening, Kave.
Kaveman: Then perhaps you could explain it to me if you’re not too busy exploiting pregnant slave children to make your widgets which fuel your coke and hooker habit?

Boss: Kave, you keep doing the same thing over and over…and it’s not working. I keep ignoring you which DOES achieve the results which I want. In light of the Sikh Temple shooting, one needs to see what goes on in the minds and offices of gun control groups when events like this occur. 

Back in Feb. Sebastian TBFKASIH made this statement about the 'memorial' site set up for the Chardon school shooting:

  the information they are asking for is valuable, and is meant to build up a list. While I can’t make any connection between this registrant and gun control groups, I would not be a bit surprised to find out these names will be going straight to a gun control organization.

 As I posted here about the collected email addresses being sent to MAIG, Seb. nailed it. Reading through the emails, the entire discussion (pdf warning) was how to take advantage of it politically. From which legislation they could effectively connect to the tragedy to which one of them would handle interviews to trying to get inside information to take advantage of:

 it may still make sense to talk about guns on college campus in the wake of this shooting. You could still make the case that it’s a bad idea at colleges and universities .

  my nephew is a Chardon police officer. He's been keeping me in the loop. It appears a second victim may have died this afternoon. Awaiting confirmation from my nephew.

 I’m not necessarily opposed to trying to connect the two for messaging purposes – just want to make sure we have our facts straight. Inthe meantime, I totally agree that today is a good time for condolence page.

 Not only were individuals in the email thread tax payer funded gov't employees of Columbus and NYC, it wasn't limited to just these 4 or 5 people. Within hours that Ladd Everitt of the CSGV was calling gun owners 'despicable' for trying to 'score points', he was receiving emails from this thread promoting the website and encouraging activism.

This is how much they care about 'gun violence'. So much that they revel in being able to obtain new email address to beg for money from and new names they can weep crocodile tears over.

For anyone who continues to delude themselves that 'gun control' has anything to do w/ increasing safety or keeping guns out of the hands of criminals or the insane, shove this in their faces. Watch them dance around and try and make excuses.

THIS is 'gun control activism' in action and what is going on right now in their various, mostly Joyce Foundation funded, offices. 

IL Gov Gun Ban Update

To continue the post from here, I just love this line in his bill:

There is no place in the State of Illinois for weapons designed to rapidly fire at human targets at close range.

Yet it is immediately preceded by:

The ban would not pertain to law enforcement officials or members of the military. 

 So it's OK for the police to have 'weapons designed to rapidly fire at human targets at close range'? Why would they need such a deadly device?

Just more PuSH'er stupidity.

Anywhoo, the real meat of the matter is this.  They will be going into special session on the 17th.  They have 15 days to deal w/ it or it dies which means that the instate mailorder ammo bill would die w/ it. On the other hand, if it does die, legal challenges become possible because from what I've been informed, the Il Gov. does not have the constitutional power/authority to add unrelated legislation to his vetos.

Start calling your legislators. Join the ISRA.  Support your local FFL's and ranges. and REMEMBER THIS when it comes time to vote.

Youth and New Shooter Report

Sister and her family came for the 4thpower's Bday party and to take mom back home. This morning before they left, I took my nephew out for a little range time. He's been shooting here before so we worked on some technique. He likes shooting airsoft and has a fancy-schmancy 'sniper' rifle for it so he's got some pretty good basics. The niece was down last week so she didn't come out w/ us.

 Later when my sister and BIL came back from the hotel they stayed at she convinced him to go down to the range w/ me.  He shot a gun sometime in the distant past at some carnival but they're 'not his thing'. He decided to give it a go though. Chose the AK.

First round.  'Oh Sh!t!!, Well now I know what I'm up against."  Once he understood the concept of recoil, he did pretty well, taking down cups at about 30m. Not bad for a newby standing.

Guns still aren't his thing but now he'll understand a bit more when he sees nonsense in the papers.

Unfortunately mom didn't want to come out for her annual training. Too hot by mid morning for her.
