A Real Conversation Starter

One of the dozen or so protesters (compared to the 70k attendees) at the NRA AM in Houston.

Yep. That's some 'Reasoned Discourse' right there. I'm convinced.

Here's a few photos of the '90%' of Americans dedicated to gun control

Reese Witherspoon: Laws are for Little People

When you're not being interviewed trying to salvage your career that is.

A few weeks ago we talked about actress Reese Witherspoon being arrested for disorderly conduct just days after endorsing restrictions on firearm ownership, a recognized Constitutional Right

Here's the video of her arrest.  Note she goes on about her Constitutional Rights as an American Citizen.

Now here's the video of her trying to play the 'good girl' game during an interview.  She admits to lying to the police officer and claims she 'panicked'.  Compare that statement to the arrest video, she sure didn't sound 'panicky' to me.  She sounded like a slightly inebriated Hollywood elitist thinking she could intimidate a cop from the podunks.

Sorry Reese. Not buyin' it.

UMPC @NRAAM

Even though I wasn't able to make it to the NRA AM in Houston this year, DOOT is still making its presence known.  This was sent to me by a loyal reader (who is lucky enough to be there):

Madigan CCW Appeal Extension Granted

Not that it changes the June 9th deadline but SCOTUS granted the IL AG an extension to appeal the 7th Circuit Court decision forcing IL to join the rest of the nation and pass CCW.

Sometimes You Just Gotta' B!tchslap

Having been a little stressed at work, it felt good to find a smarmy-assed anti-gun advocate who thought he had a 'gotcha' and run rings around him.

Update:  Ah well, Skippy not only took his comments and went home.  Guess he really is sure of his position then.

John Rosenthal: New Post, Old Lies

This is just truly sad.  In some bizarre loopy 'logic' Johnny tries to equate the Boston bombing to the failure of anti-gun bills in the Senate.
As the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombings unfolds, many of these same politicians, who continually vote against common sense gun violence prevention laws, are now criticizing the FBI and BATF for not sharing information.
Yeah, no political opportunism there.  Then it keeps getting pathetic w/ 20+ year old nonsense and long debunked meme's.
It is estimated that 40 percent of guns sold each year in the U.S. are sold by private dealers with no legal background check requirement or detection.
If you believe a 20yr old 'poll' of about 250 people.
Military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines containing more than 10 rounds were banned under the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Act.
Anyone w/ a glimmer of education (or honesty) on the topic knows this is complete BS.
Large capacity ammunition magazines can hold 30, 50 or even 100 rounds, enabling shooters to kill large numbers of people without having to reload.
Then some of the examples include VT and Ft. Hood where 'large capacity ammunition magazines were NOT used
The gun industry has continually designed and marketed firearms that are aimed at criminal use.
Uh, no.
1). The media made up the term 'cop killer bullets' to scare people
2) Even the ATF called BS on this one.
3) Resistant to corrosion
4) Flat out lie.
"There's some military brochures that we had early on that showed that you could damage aircraft on a runway or Scud missiles and things like that," says Barrett. "Yes, you could if you have a parked target."

But not in the air? "That's correct," says Barrett.
So BS to defend BS.  I mean how sad is it when your own link debunks your talking points?
President Bush signed into law the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, a bill that prohibits victims of the gun industry's negligent practices from filing lawsuits in America's courts.
Of course in Johnny's world even owning a firearm is a 'negligent practice'.  So again BS.

This is a good example of why the 'old school' gun control advocate groups like the Brady Campaign and VPC are pretty much irrelevant today, they're still partying like it's 1989 and few have the capabilities to factcheck their BS. While the truly ignorant might believe them, anyone who can type the g..o..o..g..l..e can find out that Johnny's not telling them the truth.

Chicago: Doing It Right

You can tell the weather's getting nicer in the gun control capitol of the US.
Violent night: 3 dead, at least 16 wounded in shootings across city
So the obvious solution by the Joyce funded anti-gun activists?  Make guns illegaller.
The violence needs to stop! Have you called your legislator and told them that we need common sense measures that will save lives?
Now they don't actually say what 'common sense measures' will save the lives.  Only that someone needs to 'take action'.

Now let's look at just the snippet details of the shootings:
a gang-related shooting
 a known gang member
The shooting was believed to be gang-related.
 a known gang member

Hmm, might there be some sort of correlation?  How many of the shooters do you think had FOID cards or had registered their guns through the city?  Not like any of that matters to the anti-gun fanatics.  They just want 'Action'. And according to them, all this violence is our fault.  Duh.

Madigan Games Being Played w/ IL Safety

The anti-gun fanatics in Illinois are trying every legal and political trick they can to try and keep Illinois citizens defenseless subjects.

IL AG Lisa Madigan's latest game is to ask for an extension of the May23rd deadline so they can appeal. This would delay the implementation into the campaign season where they can try to make out proponents of self defense out to be slavering, gun-toting lunatics who want dead children and armed terrorists, knowing your average anti-gun voter will believe it.

Chicago murder levels are the goal of the Madigan machine.

Extension request here via TBFKASIH.  Thanks to other readers who sent me various links to it.

Creating Criminals in CT

Apparently the new anti-gun bill signed into law in knee-jerk reaction to Sandy-Hook is so vague and undefined in multiple areas even the legislators who passed it have no clue just how to enforce it or what it actually is supposed to do:
S-B 1160, also know as the gun violence prevention and children's safety act, was signed into law on April 14. Since then both law makers and gun owners have raised many questions about how to follow the law.
But the 'did something' so they're all patting themselves on the back.

So how many firearm owners are going to get caught up in this and be made into criminals all because of subjective definitions and enforcement?  Which of course is the real intent of gun control.

Ladd Everitt Interview on Guns.com

He sits down in an interview and manages to act all calm, collected and reasonable

However those who have had any dealings w/ him outside of his 'game face' know him to be a foaming-at-the-mouth fanatic who will do anything to push his agenda.

Here was my response:
As one who the CSGV has denounced as an 'insurrectionist' to a US Senate Committee, I can say w/ authority that Ladd Everitt is nowhere near as reasonable as he tries to portray himself in this interview. He has over the course of his advocacy declared the 2A to be 'nonsense', attempted to silence pro-gun activists through intimidation, harassment and censorship, stated that ANY use of 'armed violence' was 'wrong' and also endorsed the rounding up of citizens based off or religion or ethnicity if it was court approved. His organization has supported every gun ban and restriction on the book. This includes the DC and Chicago gun bans/restrictions which prevented owning a firearm for sport or self-defense. While he puts out his weasel words, his actions prove differently.
Can it really get any clearer than that?

I do love this quote though.
I’ve been working on this issue now for 13 years.  I have never seen more energy in the grassroots of the gun violence prevention movement.
Which explains why hugely promoted anti-gun protests are attended by only a few dozen individuals at most.
