Wow

Takes a rare song to make me take off all my clothes and shake my ass like I'm on fire. My cat is a little confused, but whatever.

I'm going to enjoy voting in the midterm election.

Make some phone calls

I'm not sure how widespread this is but I would strongly encourage everyone who stumbles across this blog to contact their county LEO organization and give them your 2 cents worth.

Personally, living in a town of only 300 people, I'm not too shabby at recognizing a face. Contact your local PD and demand this from them.

Stay safe.

Stay informed.

Information is power.

And stay armed, dagnabbit.

More Anti-Math

Dennis "I Forgot the People" Henigan is touting a report saying it's all those nasty gun shows and 'assault weapons' in the US that are causing Mexican violence. But, as usual, the numbers don't add up.

The claim:
75,000 firearms seized by the Mexican government in the last three years, about 80%, or 60,000 firearms, came from the United States.
From the report:
Mexico has seized more than 85,000 total firearms from the start of the Calderon Administran
50,000 are AK-47 and AR-15 assault rifles
That would be an average of 21,250 thousand guns per year.

But:
individuals illegally transferred an estimated 14,923 U.S. firearms to Mexico from FY 2005 to FY 2009.
That's an average of about 3700 per year. About ten per day in the thousands of vehicles and people that cross the border every day legally and illegally.

So it would have taken over twenty years to have 'trafficked' all those guns, most of which was during the Clinton AWB. Plus you have the fact that they claim 5x the number of guns being confiscated than are being brought in. You would think that over the last four years, there would have been a reduction in crime w/ such successful police work.

So Dennis is, as usual, full of crap.

SIH has more.

UPDATE: Turns out one of the actual authors of the report are upset they're being called on their crap research and are being shown their @sses. In comments (posted for him or here on his site) 45 Superman shows one of them how research is done.

Name Confusion Causing Sad Pandas

Jim Brady, of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership is really upset that Bill Brady, likely the next Gov. of Illinois, shares the same last name:
“Some years ago I had to parachute into Illinois and set the record straight when a candidate for the United States Senate said I was once in the business of selling machine guns. Now I've got to get involved in an Illinois political race again, because of some other guy named Brady.

Not like anyone really gives a crap what the BC says anymore like Starbucks, Jon Stewart, Congress, etc. but this is really funny. And what's even funnier is they tout a new website called 'ShadyBillBrady' which has a nice handy dandy list of every reason firearm owners should vote FOR Bill Brady.

As 45Superman noted, their endorsed candidate is about 10 pnts behind in EVERY poll. And that makes Jim Brady cry.

Media Bias: Doing Our Job For Us

When a media outlet shows it's outright bias w/ statements like this:

The idea that New Jersey needs a bunch of paranoid people toting ballistic binkies in public places is ridiculous

I smile. Not because I think it's funny or accurate, but because it's good PR for firearm rights advocates.

What? you are thinking. How is some brain-dead reporters insults good PR for us?

Well, exactly that. He'll get a few nods or laughs from the hard-core anti-gunners like Bryan Miller (who calls us the 'Forces of Darkness') but there's a LOT of people who own guns. Even in the Brady Paradise of New Jersey. And calling them names like that is just going to push them a little bit more towards my kind of thinking than that of the paper.

So please continue NJ Star Ledger. I look forward towards your next editorial.

Like I Said...

My first post on this particular BradyBot..
She'll ignore any answer she doesn't like and will play word games w/ any others she thinks she can get away with. After we get upset enough w/ this round that we call her out on it, she'll play the 'wounded maiden' routine, call us a bunch of typical NRA meanies and then claim that she was only looking for 'thoughtful discussion' to 'solve the problem of gun crime'.
Today:
There has been a lot of bluster, one-upsmanship, cynicism, diminution of my opinions as well as accusations. I have been asked the same questions over and over again and answers have been demanded ( or what?) My facts from widely recognized credible sources, such as the CDC or peer-reviewed articles have been attacked. We can't seem to get past the idea that guns don't kill people. It's those people who kill people...

This exercise, possibly in futility, has opened my eyes to the zealousness of a group of people who seem blinded by their love of guns and so fearful that their beloved guns will be taken from them that they can't wrap their heads around any idea to the contrary.
And finishing off w/:
I believe that if we compare "apples to apples" on many of the issues raised here, we could actually come to some more agreements.
Again, No we can't. The BC et all continue to manipulate statistics and outright lie in order to make me out to be a criminal. The only 'apples' I see from your side are horse apples and no matter how much caramel you put on them, they're still nothing more than sh!t.

Now that she's admitted she really doesn't want anything other than for us to blindly agree w/ her, less people will visit her and there will be less and less posts from us meanies.

Just Sad

Paul Helmke of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership (or whoever his ghostwriter intern is currently) is upset that a comedian, Jon Stewart of the Daily Show, doesn't support complete gun control.

This is how far they've fallen. Their only support is from a Governor candidate who is failing badly. The media pretty much ignores them. Their last major 'victory' was getting a coffee shop to bar firearms while Starbucks, like the media, ignored them.

And they know it which makes this even more enjoyable.

First shots w/ the new camera. The old one decided to commit suicide so the company replaced it w/ a newer model. Some nice shots. Several late fawns and turkeys. Haven't seen any turkeys around here for a few years.
