Info is still coming in but reports are two people were injured when a Mini-14 discharged.
Whether the rifle was left loaded by the dealer or by an attendee is currently unknown.

And Then There Were Four
Wyoming passes Constitutional Carry.
Now if we can only get the Illinois Legislature off their @sses to keep us from being the last state w/o ANY form.

People of the Gun
Several years ago, a tribe was formed. A motley collection of gun nuts and firearms enthusiasts. There was no Chief. No Shaman. Everyone was equal to eachother. The organizer was one who goes by the name of Alphecca.
Well the tribe grew quiet for a time but it has recently been revitalized. Another tribe w/ great resources requested the privilege of maintaining the members list. With it came great benefits to all.
IOW. Alphecca made a deal w/ a company called Ammo.net to transfer the POTG site to them and they offer pretty good deals and discounts. Check them out.*
Disclosure: I did get compensated for changing the link and adding the new widget. This post was done on my own initiative.

The Stupid, It Hurts
Some budding 'Authorized Journalists' at the local university are crapping themselves over the possibility of Concealed Carry on Campus. In TEXAS.
This 'Editorial' contains all the usual ignorant talking points of those who really have no clue what they're talking about and the traditional emotional hyperbole.
'All students', shooting professors over bad grades, wild west scenarios, drunken bar shootouts. The works.
You can tell they know nothing about firearm laws except what they've seen in the movies and read in the paper. Doubtful they even realize that Illinois does not currently have Concealed Carry. But we're working on it.
Weep for the future.

Illinois Pre-Emption on the Move
Municipalities would not be able to pass firearm laws in conflict w/ the state.
Text of the Bill HB264 is here.
This is another one to contact your reps about to get passed.
Illinois (IRN) – A measure to strip Illinois municipalities of their authority to regulate gun ownership has passed an Illinois House committee. An NRA spokesman says the legislation doesn’t necessarily target Chicago, but that’s where the law would have the biggest effect.

A New King Is Crowned
No surprise, my dead Grandma voted for Rahm for the mayor of Chi-town.
Now we watch to see if he can screw up the city as badly as Daley.
And all of them want this woman prosecuted for defending herself w/ a handgun.

Sweet Irony
CSGO tweets this:
Mayors Against Illegal Guns now has 184 mayors as members in #PennsylvaniaUncle posts this:
Another member of Mayors Against Guns convicted, this one for domestic assaultMAIG has a higher arrest and conviction rate of its members than CCW holders nationwide. Yet we see which group gun control fanatics support.
Is HuffPo doing some editing?
Colin abd Andrew Goddards' latest blog titled..."The Last Pharaoh: Mubarak or LaPierre?" appears in two different versions.
All the Brady Bunch blogs are co-posted on HuffPo, no secret there since the BC shut down comments several years ago. But they're not identical.
From the post above this is how one paragraph reads on HuffPo...
"LaPierre and his NRA workers have opposed any and all legislative attempts to keep guns out of the hands of people not legally allowed to own them. In state capitols around the country they systematically repeal existing laws and prevent the adoption of new legislation. LaPierre and his followers have blocked us from taking control of our own public safety to establish responsible limits and regulations that prevent dangerous weapons from falling so easily into the hands of dangerous people while claiming we just need to focus on "enforcing the laws already on the books.""
But this is how that same paragraph reads at the Brady Bunch site...
"Wayne LaPierre has done more to obstruct the development of this country than any foreign terrorist group could ever dream of accomplishing. LaPierre and his followers have blocked us from taking control of our own public safety to establish responsible limits and regulations that prevent dangerous weapons from falling so easily into the hands of dangerous people while claiming we just need to focus on “enforcing the laws already on the books.”"
I only see three possibilities. Either HuffPo edited the post, HuffPo forced the BC to edit the post or the Brady Bunch is using much stronger rhetoric on their website deliberately for those die hard fans who actually read it.
In any event, it's nice to know that the antis view us as not only terrorists, but WORSE than terrorists.
We must be doing something right.

CCW Coming to Illinois?
I'm not one to get people's hopes up over rumors but I've gotten word from several insiders in Springfield that the Anti's are crapping themselves over the latest push for CCW.
From what I'm hearing, straw polls have put a 'Yea' vote in the Senate at over a veto proof majority (36 w/ more potentials) and Senate President Cullerton is debating 'cutting a deal'. It's unknown at present what he's asking for in return. Politics as usual. Gov. Quinn has stated he's 'concerned'.
It's also been made clear the Brady Campaign, ICHV and other gun banners are apoplectic over it and demanding Cullerton stop it by any means necessary.
Illinois Residents who respect their rights need to call Cullerton's offices NOW and (politely) voice their support for Concealed Carry. 217-782-2728/773-883-0770 as well as their state senators and representatives to have their voices heard.
Join the ISRA and IllinoisCarry as well as your local groups. We can get this done folks but not alone.
