Puppets on Film

Unfortunately not the Muppets which are at least funny but a bunch of PuSH'ers who say what those w/ someone's hand up their @sses want them to.

What do you get when a Joyce Foundation/MAIG puppet website walks around w/ a camera?

Why a heavily edited video of selectively chosen clips of people saying what they want them to.

How many hundreds of people did they have to interview to get their dozen or so nine 'proper' answers?

Time's Up

Courtesy of Kent McManigal, the designer of the 'Time's Up' logo, he now has new and improved flags available.

I got mine in the mail today and he threw in a handful of stickers for me as well. One of which now graces my primary means of communication.

Perfect compliments to the Time's Up patch.

Profiling Their Agenda

From Sen.'s Lautenberg and McCarthy:
It's time to end the bloodshed and restore common sense to our gun laws -- beginning with a permanent ban on high-capacity gun magazines.
Yep. Two people who considered the DC and Chicago gun bans to be 'common sense' and Ms. 'Shoulder thing that goes up' supporting it says it all.

Then there's this gem:
These deadly devices are the weapon of choice for the deranged.
Does that include the police, who are exempted from said bill?

Illinois Bills

Preemption failed in the house since it required 71 votes. The Sun Times is claiming that likely means CCW will fail as well since it will also require 71.

Yet the Senate President is stating that it will likely see a vote there. Not wanting to burn political capitol or is he just posturing because he thinks it won't pass the House?

We'll see. Allegedly it's only a few votes short and won't be called till later.

Lots of other bills up for grabs as well.

@CSGV: Bringing People Together

One thing that I've noticed in my many 'conversations' w/ gun banners is that they have an overwhelming need to believe that all firearm advocates are in lockstep and take our marching orders from the NRA. Well anyone w/ a clue knows that's not true as there is quite a variety of opinions amongst us, sometimes leading to some pretty heated arguments and conflict.

But as they say, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Following one of the fun conversations w/ Ladd Everitt (aka GritsJr) of the CSGV, two individuals who had butted heads previously found themselves working together to smack down that obnoxious turd.

Here's how things went afterwards:
Kurt Hofmann

Hey Linoge. I know we tend to argue a lot when we encounter each other, but you were great yesterday.

Look at it this way–Ladd sees you as much of a Threeper as he does me ;-) .

Which just goes to show that he is even more whacked-out than we originally thought ;) .

Seriously, though, we do agree on a few points… just not on others.

Kurt Hofmann

Good to see you, Link P–your contributions to our earlier discussion with CSGV were much appreciated.

Linoge, I could probably have handled some of our disagreements better than I did.

I wish I had.

Linoge

It happens. Does not mean we cannot poke fun at morons like Ladd…

So while they aren't likely to exchange Xmas gifts, it did make them remember they're on the same side w/ the same goals, just different ideas on how to get there.

Thanks Ladd. You're a blessing for pro-rights advocates.

Thank You Ladd Everitt @CSGV

CSGV Tweet.
@TrailerDays @peaceloveammo @jpr9954 Read your blog sometime. It's disgusting and insulting to those who have lost loved ones to guns.
Thank you. If the CSGV mouthpiece thinks that, I'm doing a good job.

The rest was just bringing up the fact that most 'gun control' laws are based on racism so they responded w/ the claim I can't care about anyone else because I'm 'white' and the usual 'insurrectionist', etc. nonsense.

Sugarmann Getting His Blinders On

Good 'Ol Josh Sugarmann of the VPC continues his decrees that the 'gun industry is dying'. Just like he's been saying for over ten years like a broken record.

What's classic is his own cites prove him wrong.
Centerfire rifle sales decreased by $108.1 million, or 30.9%, as compared to the prior-year period, primarily due to reduced sales demand for modern sporting products as the 2009 surge ended and sales returned to more historical levels.

You'ld think that by this time all the companies would be closed and the NRA would have zero members if all his proclamations had even a shred to truth to them.

Oh wait, this is Josh we're talking about.

The Sinking Ship That is Illinois

Most people don't know but IL Gov. Quinn signed a law a bit ago that forced online retailers located in IL to collect sales tax for ALL sales in an effort to generate revenue.

This is the result:
FatWallet.com is leaving Illinois for Wisconsin after losing business ties with major online retailers since Gov. Quinn signed of the “Amazon.com tax” earlier this month.

The web shopping business, based near Rockford, partners with online retailers like Amazon and Overstock.com, will relocate to Beloit on April 8 after at least a dozen retailers told FatWallet they would cut ties after the law forced online retailers to collect the state’s 6.25-percent sales tax in a way to preserve profits.

The company, which nets about $13 million a year, was expecting to lose $4 million in annual revenue, said Brent Shelton, FatWallet.com spokesperson.

The company, which employs 54 people, will look for permanent residency in Beloit after the move. Shelton said the company did not know if it would ever return to Illinois.

Congratulations Gov. Quinn and legislators that voted for this. You're doing a fine job. Of what I don't know. But a fine job.

I highly doubt any other retailers will move TO Illinois. Now the question is just how many will leave and how many jobs will it cost the workers.
