From the Book of Obama 9:6:
I believe these guns are used primarily for criminal rather than sporting intent.
So it is written.

A little history and a lot of conspiracy.
It turns out that McCain was aboard the USS Forrestal when it caught fire in 1967 due to an accidental rocket fire. He was injured by fragments from an explosion.
Quite a military career he had.
Now the conspiracy. Apparently some unnamed witnesses says it was all McCains fault, it was covered up by his father, and his imprisonment was actually him hiding out w/ the Zionist/Communists in charge of Vietnam and Israel.
Wow.
Update:
SailorCurts debunking has drawn out the wackjobs.

Detroit Mayor and MAIG member Kwame Kilpatrick is now a convicted felon. Joining his other cohorts in crime , this gives MAIG members a higher crime rate than CCW holders. Obviously being a member of MAIG is a danger to the public welfare and should be barred.

Chicago twice as dangerous as Iraq.
The "Gun Free" city has had more murders by firearms than troops have been killed in a combat zone.
Yet murders in the rest of the state where firearms are more common are 1/6th the rate of the city.
Telling.

Palin's speech having effects already.
Jesse Jackson hospitalized for stomach pains
We know it's not from his conscience. What it is is he saw someone who won't put up with him shaking down businesses under the cries of "RACISM" and encourages people to be personally responsible and accountable for their own actions.
On that note, besides the misogyny, debunked accusations, and general insults that are filling the boards by Obama supporters, one theme I keep seeing repeated is that the Republicans are hypocrites for having the pregnant daughter and her boyfriend there and that Palin can't control her family.
I think it would be more hypocritical to hide them away. Yeah, the girl got pregnant at 17. So did Obama's mom. Teenagers do things like that. These two are at least trying to do the 'right thing' by keeping the kid and getting married. All in line w/ Palin's beliefs.
Even Obama has said he wants the attacks against her family to stop. It won't happen. We'll be hearing "her daughters a sl*t" and variations as well as rehashes of the 'militia separatist', 'troopergate', and every other debunked talking point all the way up to election day.
They can't 'change'. It's all they have.

The Palin Speech
Not bad. She was really stiff near the beginning but was able to loosen up as it continued. Some really good jabs at her experience vs Obama's as well as the histrionics regarding her family. The bit about only one candidate having actually served their country was well played as well as the remarks about how executive office holders work.
I'm sure it's going to be picked apart by the morning and shown to be a complete failure by the same media that was reporting Daily Koz and Huffpo rumors as fact just a few days ago.
SIH has more.

Not that this is anything new.
SailorCurt points out that the Brady's are pushing to get Palin to answer some questions, as if she should bother w/ them. The one he notes specifically is:
But wait. According to the Brady Website "Stop the NRA":
So he supports the ban but blocked it. So which is it Petey? Did he get his wheelbarrow full of cash that day?

Mayor Daley on the school boycott
Meanwhile, also on the South Side, Mayor Richard Daley blasted Meeks, accusing him of using children for political purposes by leading a boycott of the first day of classes at Chicago Public Schools.Excuse me? What was he saying again?
"It's very selfish," the mayor said at the opening of a new school on the South Side. "It does not serve anyone.""
Students from all over Chicago will be bused to Soldier Field for the "Shout-Out for Schools" rally. Mayor Richard Daley and public schools CEO Arne Duncan are expected to attend.
I guess he forgot about that little event.

They're running scared.

Student ditch day
The Rev Sen Meeks has gone through w/ his plan to encourage truancy among Chicago Public School students.
Thousands of CPS students are being bused (using school funds no doubt) to an upper class district to try and enroll them. One wonders why districts that receive LESS THAN the $10,400/student usually have higher scores and equipment.
Hmm. Perhaps is students weren't being yanked out of school to attend "gun violence" protests and actually studied, there wouldn't be a 50% drop out rate in the city.

Babylon AD
Went to the movies w. the CIC.
Meh.
Action: Standard fair. Lots of rehashed scenes from earlier Vin Diesel flicks.
Plot: Disjointed. It's like they wanted to make a near future action flick but couldn't decide what kind so they jammed a bunch together. Post-apocalyptal? Super-tech? Disaster? It's all stuffed in there and it hops around so much that none of them really work.
Characters: No real character development. Lots of secondaries that just die or fall away.
Tech: Lots of guns (mostly M-4's) and a few tanks. Fighter drones for border control. A foldable 'Google' map. Homing missiles. Definite 1984 references w/ injectable UN passports and TV's that can't be shut off.
T&A: Very little. A few teaser scenes.
Ending: I swear I just went and saw a Foreign Film. It didn't really end. It just..... stopped.
It would have been OK for a rental but I'm not planning on watching it again unless someone happens to have it on. General disappointment.
