Guns For Me But Not For Thee PT II

Some people have derided the 'Only Ones' posts as being disrespectful and demeaning to law enforcement. Unfortunately, there's a vocal subset of the police that earn the scorn:

SACRAMENTO -- A statewide lobbying group for police officers said Thursday it will pursue legislation next year that would allow officers to keep assault weapons after they retire, seeking to overturn an opinion issued last year by the state attorney general's office.

That is an action of a group that sees themselves as better than you, an elite class that should be exempt from the laws that govern the unwashed masses. So much for being a nation of laws and not of men.

Will the Brady Campaign, VPC, CSGV or MAIG publicly oppose this measure? All support the banning of 'assault weapons' for civilians since they claim the ONLY purpose in owning one is to kill as many people as possible. I doubt it.

Guns For Me But Not For Thee

Mobile, AL Mayor Sam Jones, as a member of MAIG, wants to do everything he can to limit your ability to protect yourself and make firearm ownership as difficult as possible. But it's certainly OK for him to own and use one:

Just like NYC Mayor Bloomberg and former Chicago Mayor Daley and current Emmanual who have armed contigents 24/7, they're all hypocrites.

'Vigilante Justice'?

The interns at the Brady Campaign tweeted a link to Baldr calling most CCW holders wannabe 'Wyatt Earps' (even though Baldr faced liar is now denying those words) and 'vigilante's'. Here's the example Baldr uses of 'vigilantism':

Here's one recent example where a man witnessed a purse robber, then took matters into his own hands to chase the guy down and then shoot him dead. Is the robbery of a purse from an old woman worth killing someone over? Is this sort of vigilante justice what we want in America?

Now this poor 'purse robber' we've talked about before. He didn't just 'rob' her, he violently assaulted her and then drew on the CCW holder.

So again, gun control advocates don't really care about reducing violent crime, they just care about people owning scary guns.

A SockPuppet By Any Other Name

Last year, a troll by the name of 'GritsJr' got exposed as a staff member of the CSGV, going around supporting his bosses fluff pieces all over the internet.

Well Grit's profile recently got deleted on Huffpo and a new troll has appeared. Let's see what they have to say:

Ban 'Assault Bats' For The Children

Yesterday I posted an article on a teenager who got shot while robbing a house armed w/ a baseball bat. Here's another 'child victim of gun violence' while innocently out for a late night game of baseball:

KINGMAN, Ariz. — Kingman police say a 19-year-old woman shot and wounded a 15-year-old boy who broke into her home with another man and began beating her and her boyfriend with baseball bats.

Never upset a mother bear in her den. Now remember, Gun Control Advocates tell us that she should have given in to the demands of the criminals and that she would more likely be a danger to herself or family w/ a gun. They're also going to add the 15yr old to their numbers of 'victims'.

Does that sound right to you? Should she have trusted her and her infants life to the good will of two violent criminals?

Will They Forfeit Their Own Assetts

WASHINGTON – A 10-count civil forfeiture complaint was filed yesterday in the District of New Mexico seeking forfeiture of assets related to a gun shop in Deming, N.M., whose owner and employees were previously indicted on charges related to firearms smuggling and money laundering,

I have little problem w/ this as long as they were convicted. Now will the DOJ/BATFE forfeit their own assets for allowing thousands of firearms to be smuggled to Mexican cartels?

There must have been much wailing and gnashing of teeth as they typed that. How much farther do they have to fall?

Dennis Henigan Makes Up Some Numbers

In the latest Huffpo piece to try and talk up their 'groundbreaking' (no) candlelight vigil, he makes this claim:

Our gun homicide rate is 20 times the combined rates of other western, industrialized nations.

Really? The US 'firearm homicide' rate for 2010 was 2.84/100k. For it to be 20X higher, the rate for all 'western, industrialized nations' COMBINED would have to be less than .142/100K.

How does he get such numbers? Oh right, by using Joyce Foundation funded 'research' by Hemenway and selectively chosen countries while ignoring countries like Russia which has over 4x the homicide rate of the US along w/ some other qualifiers.

Another 'Child Victim' of Gun Violence

The Brady Campaign abhors people being shot, even when they're in the process of committing a violent crime. Here's another one they'll add to their statistics of child victims:

A 13-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot by a homeowner during an early morning burglary in Medical Lake on Monday...

The boy, who sheriff’s officials previously believed was 14, and another teenage boy were carrying baseball bats when the homeowner confronted them after an intrusion alarm alerted him to a break-in at an enclosed room beneath his deck.

Two innocent children out for a late night stroll. Nice that the paper gives the names and general address of the real victims in this.

Brady Campaign Censors, Lies and Politicizes Tragedies

In the wake of their underwhelming announcement this morning, Sean left a comment over on their FB page. They deleted it and blocked him. Then they lied about it to try and give themselves the moral high ground:
John leaves a comment calling them on it. It's also been subject to 'reasoned discourse'. Then they go on a tangent trying to distract from the fact that crime has continued to decrease even as the Brady Bunch continues it's slide into irrelevancy. See, those facts don't fit their worldview so they have to politicize as many tragedies as they can.
