Remember that whole 'Jack-in-the-Box' debacle a few days ago where it was claimed 'employees hid in the freezer' while gun nuts rampaged through the store but photos showed people just calmly going about their business? That meme (sans the photos of course) spread across the internet to 'prove' just how dangerous gun owners are.
Turns out it was complete and utter BS, just like people who read past the headlines said:
From another article, it wasn't even a store employee that called but 'someone who saw the protesters walking to the restaurant'. Likely a SWAT'tting.
JITB responded to the lie exactly how Shannon Watts wanted them to, by giving a vague statement allegedly banning guns.
The only way 'gun control' can succeed is through deception, lies, and threats.

'Streetlight' Mccarthy Doing His Job In Chicago
Last night in Chicago:
Priorities.
At least 15 people... were wounded in shootings in Chicago between Thursday afternoon and early Friday morning, authorities said.Yet at LEAST one officer plus his staff is being paid to investigate and shut down a blog dedicated to rooting out corruption and incompetence among the CPD.
... and no one was in custody in connection with any of the incidents as of 6:30 a.m.
Priorities.

False Narratives
DEATH!!!111!!! DESTRUCTION!!!!!! MURDERS IN CARLOAD LOTS!!11111!!! CRIME RAMPANT!!!!111!! ELEVENTY
These are the headlines we're seeing. Problem is, it's not particularly true:
These are the headlines we're seeing. Problem is, it's not particularly true:
Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicide s , the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm — assaults, robberies and sex crimes — was 75 % lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non - fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly ( 72 %) over two decades .So due to whatever reasons, crime is down by half of its peak in '93. Unfortunately crime dropping doesn't sell as many papers as blaring headlines of multiple deaths and carnage. It leaves an impression:
Despite national attention to the issue of fire arm violence , most Americans are unaware that gun crime is lower today than it was two decades ago. According to a new Pew Research Center survey, today 56% of Americans believe gun crime is higher than 20 years ago and only 12% think it is lower. So only about 1 in 8 people pay attention to what is actually happening in lieu of the propaganda put out by ideologues with an agenda to push.

Thank You Hillary Clinton...
... for giving another shining example of those who espouse 'Reasonable, Common-sense' gun control:
But you 'Support the 2nd Amendment'. Yeah sure.
“We have to rein in what has become [an] almost article of faith, that anybody can own a gun anywhere, anytime. And I don’t believe that,” she said, as applause drowned her out...Thank you for telling every gun owner in the United States that you think they are nothing but potential serial killers just waiting for a chance to kill anyone they can.
“At the rate we’re going, we’re going to have so many people with guns everywhere, fully licensed, fully validated, in settings where [one] could be in a movie theater, and they don’t like someone chewing gum loudly or talking on their cell phone and decide they have the perfect right to defend themselves against the gum chewer or cell phone user by shooting.”
Clinton continued, “That’s what happens in the countries I’ve visited where there’s no rule of law.”
But you 'Support the 2nd Amendment'. Yeah sure.

So Who Was 'Alarmed'?
'Open Carry' event in Dallas-Fort Worth. Activists patronize a local Jack-in-the-Box, take some photos, then go outside to continue. A swarm of cops show up:
Yeah, those employees shuffling around behind the counter look terrified, don't they? Methinks there was an MDA supporter who 'SWAT'ted them by claiming the activists were threatening people. They have a history of threatening to do so so it wouldn't surprise me in the least. And MDA continue to lie about what happened even in light of evidence. Note they DON'T show the photos of the smiling, un-alarmed employees. Again, entirely unsurprising.
Just another attempt by Bloomberg's bought and paid for puppets to try and get businesses to ban guns 'for common-sense'. Of course they had no problems having armed security at the NRA convention weekend before last now did they?
“They locked themselves inside a freezer for protection out of fear the rifle-carrying men would rob them,” the email stated. “The demonstration had no signage that would have alerted anyone to their real purpose, and to our knowledge they did not attempt to contact anyone in the Fort Worth Police Department to advise us prior to the demonstration.”Really? Let's take a look at some of the photos taken:

Another Default Chicago Weekend
Started out light:
Six wounded in shootings Friday afternoon into Saturday morning
Then the party started:
4 shot in River North among 3 killed, 16 wounded across city
Many of those 'gang related' and we're not even done w/ the weekend yet. Now idiots like Quinn, Rahmbo, McCarthy, and Carol Marin like to blame 'lax gun laws', 'loopholes', 'assault weapons' or whatever the meme of the week is. Let's take a look, however, at the chain of accomplices in a recent shooting of a 14yr old girl (list via 2nd City Cop):

- the 14 year old shooter
- the 34 year old purchaser of the gun (who transferred it illegally (and filed a false report of it being stolen ed. ))
- the 43 year old middleman (who had no FOID and a probation warrant)
- the 25 year old uncle (crippled by gunfire, riding a bus with a gun he knew was going to be used in a fight)
- a 32 year old auntie (who knew what was up and did nothing but tag along for the show)
- and the 17 year old who tried to hide the gun following the murder.
Movie Review: After Earth
Even though it made a bunch of money, I've heard few, if any, good reviews about it. I'm going to add another one.
While not as bad as some made it out, I overall found it to be a dull, woodenly acted, vanity project on the part of the normally entertaining Will Smith. Much of that was made understood when I saw M. Night Shamayalan's name attached to it at the end. Special effects were mixed. The back story was haphazard resulting in numerous "Huh?'s" and "Why is that happening?" type comments. The only characters I felt any attachment to in the entire flick were the baby giant birds.
2/5 stars if that. It won't be a purchase nor will I likely bother watching it again.
