State of the Union? Trashy

I remember when we would take long drives when I was a kid (vacation, visiting relatives, whatever) and seeing the sides of the roads just covered in trash. Paper, bags, unraveled cassette tapes were everywhere. Over the years, I also watched most of it disappear, even in the crappier neighborhoods of Chicago.  Adopt-a-highway's were prevalent and people just seemed to be more careful. 

Over the last year or so, as I've driven to and fro, I'm seeing a reversion.  Trash is creeping back onto the sides, some areas just positively covered. So the question I ask is 'Why'?  Have people lost that pride in cleanly environment?  Are the strict 'No Littering' laws not being enforced as they used to be? Or are people just crappier than before? 

Either way I see it as a statement on how things are now.

Two dead, 11 wounded in holiday violence

A man attempting to stop a fight between a married couple was stabbed to death, another man was found shot dead in a backyard and at least eleven other people — including two teenage girls and a CTA passenger shot by police — were wounded by gunfire since the start of the long Thanksgiving weekend.

It’s been a bloody start to the Thanksgiving holiday with one man who tried to stop a fight between a husband and wife on Wednesday night stabbed to death and at least eight people -- including a 15-year-old girl who suffered a gunshot wound to the head -- wounded in shootings around the city since Wednesday afternoon.

Now this is a city where guns are still effectively banned yet people like Ladd Everitt and Joan Peterson think that passing MORE laws will stop the mentality to cause violence.

Does that make any sense at all?

Now up comes all the other polished turds wanting his space.  What I love is due to his own arrogance by not dropping out of the race, it will likely cost the state hundreds of thousands of dollars to run a replacement election. 

I saw on the news a couple saying that something is better than nothing since that's all they've gotten from him over the last six months.  Nothing.  Bet they voted for him though.

What the subjects of Chicago voted for:

 Federal Court Upholds Right to Keep and Bear Arms and Awards the NRA $125,000 in Attorney’s Fees
On September 26, 2012 the United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois awarded the National Rifle Association (NRA) $125,000 to reimburse it for attorney’s fees spent winning a lawsuit against the City of Chicago over a Chicago firearm ordinance on behalf of NRA member Shawn Gowder. In striking down the law, the Court held that the ordinance is unconstitutionally void for vagueness and also violates the plaintiff’s Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

So while the city is effectively bankrupt and they keep raising taxes/fees on not only gun owners but all the other residents of the city, they keep paying out hundreds of thousands of dollars to try and keep their pet gun control laws.

Opposing Obama Is Racist

Because he didn't nominate two anti-gun Supreme Court justices. He didn't restrict more firearm imports. He didn't institute more regulations on firearm dealers in numerous states. He didn't state he would support a new 'Assault Weapon' ban during the debates.

None of those things things actually happened so the ONLY reason one could possibly not like his stance on firearms is:  

Obama's race, his unusual name, and the legions of African-Americans, Latinos, gays, lesbians, single women and everyone else who doesn't fit into the Ward Cleaver model

Yep. That has to be it. No other reason.

GSL on the WWP Flap

 Steven Nardizzi, the $319k/year Executive Director of Wounded Warrior Project, fumbled badly out of the gate in his efforts to diffuse the brouhaha over his group’s refusal to participate on Gun Talk Radio last weekend on Veteran’s Day. 

The whole disaster was spurred when their communications director declined the invitation to promote WWP on Gun Talk Radio because of the gun-related content of the nationally syndicated radio show...

I walked outside and found my Wounded Warrior Project T-shirt – the one I had worn with pride to a host of events as Guns Save Life’s president and elsewhere – had spontaneously combusted out on the parking lot.  It was the darndest thing.  What are the odds?  I sure am glad I wasn’t in that shirt when it went up, because that nice Under Armor fabric melted rather badly.

All kidding aside, I won’t be promoting WWP – not even one little bit – from here on out.
The DeWitt County Sportsmen’s Club probably won’t be donating to Wounded Warrior next year either, as they donated $300 last month as part of their first annual Zombie Shoot.

 Wonder how much his faux pa is going to cost WWP?

He's of the correct 'ideology' so his transgressions of violating numerous federal and state laws will be ignored even though they contain evil, scary 'assault rifles'.


They want disarmament of the civilian population but only of' undesirables determined by their definition.
