Thanks to your support and your efforts, last week thousands of individuals, Million Mom March Chapters, community allies, and friends and family of the Virginia Tech victims marked the first anniversary of the Virginia Tech shootings and called on legislators to do something about gun violence.

Your Brady Campaign and ProtestEasyGuns.com supported the efforts of more than 100 local events to create a day of action and remembrance that would send a message to lawmakers: we need to make it harder for dangerous people to get dangerous weapons by strengthening gun laws, including closing the gun show loophole.

Our reach was both wide and deep. Coast to coast, events took place in more than 30 states (red and blue ones!), more than one hundred cities, and on 50 college campuses. They included bell ringing, candle vigils, speeches from victims and elected officials, calls to action and lie-ins: groups of at least 32 individuals lying down in tribute to the 32 victims killed one year ago on the Virginia Tech campus, and the 32 victims murdered by guns every day.

The events got a tremendous amount of attention and media coverage. Your Brady Campaign and our allies in the field — in cities and neighborhoods around the country — are making our voices heard: Now is the time to keep the momentum going to pass sensible gun laws.

In one single E-mail, they were able to jam in three separate links to beg for money while chanting 32 32 32 32 over an over. Paul's last three posts on Huffpo have all been rehashes of the VT tragedy using family members in emotional distress to shill for laws that had nothing to do w/ the event or that have been shown to reduce crime.

Interesting to note that it takes a national event and numerous national anti-gun groups to equal an single pro-gun state level event .
