Mexican Unpossibles

We keep being told that Mexico is getting almost all of its guns from US gun shops/shows.

In April, a DEA undercover operative was shown a hand grenade by one of the Iraqis and was told additional grenades were available from a Mexican military source.

Officials believe the weapons and explosives were meant to be sold locally, and there were no indications the group was supplying Mexico's most violent cartel with weapons for use in that country's drug war, which has claimed at least 35,000 lives.

Now we know that when a reporter says 'Assault Rifles', they could mean anything from a semi-auto handgun to a Chevette. If they're getting guns from Mexican military and NOT planning on shipping them back, they 'could be' the real thing.

And how long has this been going on?
Officials were tipped off after neighbors and even some of the club members' spouses complained for years about the establishment's criminal activity, which has included attempted murder, sales of meth and marijuana, gambling and illegal firearms sales.
Let's keep those borders nice and open. It won't cause any problems. And obviously the best response to this is to make even MORE gun control laws in California. That'll stop them.

Quote of the Day

So, when you hear an American called a terrorist, just substitute a college sorority girl yelling “FASCIST!” in your mind, and you’ll get the right gist.

I said something similar a few weeks ago. More here and here.

The @CSGV is 'Disturbed'*

It's always heartwarming to read the PSH from Anti's over the normalization of Open Carry (and firearms in general) in society.

*Redundant, I know.

Shave the Whales!!

I admit I have a little green in me. I drive a Prius, use CFL's, practice the three R's, rechargeable batteries, etc. Mostly to save some money and not in any 'real' desire to stop bathing and hug trees.

Since we do use lots of re-chargeables of various sizes, I picked up a universal charger. The other day I was digging through my den closet and came across some solar panels I had bought at a Radio Shack clearance sale awhile ago.

I looked at the panels.

Looked at the charger.

Looked at the panels.

Looked at the window w/ the sun shining through.

And the lightbulb came on.

Not as fast as the plug in but a trickle charge is better and it will save a few more pennies each month. And when the Zombie Apocalypse comes and the power grid fails, I'll still be able to use my flashlights.

Fear, not Facts, Drives the Anti-Gun Agenda

The PEG-Heads and Brady-bots are squeaking about an editorial claiming that Open Carry is causing Murder and Mayhem in Maine.

Except the Authorized Journalists can't actually point to any actual problems being caused outside their own PSH. Only what they choose to believe 'might' happen w/ the same tired meme's we've heard from the beginning:
When that person walks through the door, how can customers tell if the person bearing the weapon is a potential rescuer or killer?
Well, if he walks in the door and starts shooting people, he's a killer and a 'No Guns Allowed' sign won't stop him no matter how many unicorn farts you release. If he grabs a cart and heads toward the dairy aisle, you can unpucker.

There, wasn't that simple?

Wintemute Resorts to Google Searches

Straight from his failure to try and get FFL dealers to incriminate themselves, paid Joyce 'researcher' Dr. Garen Wintemute releases findings on a study showing that drive by shooters don't aim very well.

I guess Joyce money isn't going as far as it used to as his method of obtaining the data is the same that Josh Sugarmann of the VPC uses:

Between March 1, 2008, and February 28, 2009, we conducted
real-time surveillance using Google and Yahoo! news
alert services, searching on stray bullet, and the news archives
of GunPolicy.org (ed. an international gun control website). One year later, we searched for follow-up reports.
Wow. There's some definitive research right there.

Buying Surplus, Supporting the Constitution, Voting. You're all Terrorists

Much hay is being made about the latest FBI pamphlet calling on people to watch out for individuals buying surplus and survival gear like matches, flashlights or magazines. Ironically, both the CDC and DHS both say it's a good idea to have most of that stuff on hand in case the SHTF.

But this isn't anything new folks.

A few years ago, a DHS 'Fusion Center' released a report on 'Modern Militias' citing supporters of Senators Ron Paul and Bob Barr as potential terrorists.

Shortly after that, they put out the 'Domestic Extremist Lexicon' which classified bloggers or anyone who disagrees w/ 'Main Stream Media' as 'Domestic Extremists'.

Then came the 'Rightwing Extremist' report which put veterans under the light as potential recruits for terrorist/extremist groups.

Even way back in 1999, the FBI put out a flyer stating that people who referenced the US Constitution may be a 'Terrorist".

And remember the current administration supports restricting the rights of anyone who is on a secret gov't watch-list as 'Suspected Terrorists' w/o due process and 'Terrorist' has now replaced 'Racist' or 'Fascist' for the 'In' word to call anyone who disagrees w/ them.

So trust the Gov't. They're there to help.

Americana Circa 1967

Found an old game of 'Battleship' at a local thrift shop. I love the photo. Dad and son playing a game while Mom and daughter are washing the dishes. Nevermind that no ship looked like the one dad's holding.

Petty, Childish Restrictions are the Name of the Game

So WI now has CCW, so the response from anti-gun legislators? Restrict it from park bathrooms.

No 'safety' issues here. They just want to make it as difficult as they can in the most childish and petty ways they can. Just like the kid who takes his toy and goes home when he's not allowed to win the game.
