Ramblings, NRA Hate and Making Up History

'Authorized Journalist' and long time NRA hater Barry Nolan writes a rambling piece that drifts from hunting to his hate for Wayne Lapierre of the NRA. In the comments, he confirms his stereotyped bigotry and partisanship by assuming commentors are GOP supporters. But, outside of all the little smarmy and sophomoric jabs, this line is what really struck me:
before our Minutemen fired the shot heard round the world – they retrieved their guns from where they had been safely stored.
Now here we discover another one of those individuals that believes in, as Sebastian TBFKASIH calls it, 'The Fraud That Just Won't Die', a completely fabricated belief that practically noone owned firearms in the Colonial Era and that they were all stored in 'Powder Houses'. Oh sure, there were some muskets stored there but the majority of 'safely stored' guns that the militia retrieved were primarily from over their fireplaces and other locations within their homes. The local towns supplied powder and ammo for when the militia were expected to fight.

But we already knew that.

I'd assume that Barry Nolan would feel kinship with the Redcoats; after all, the Battles of Lexington and Concord were fought because the British were trying to disarm the colonists!
