Pfleger suspended from St. Sabina duties

The firebrand pastor of St. Sabina parish was effectively removed from his duties there Tuesday, according to a statement released by the Archdiocese of Chicago.

In the statement, Cardinal Francis George says he asked the Rev. Michael Pfleger, 59, to "take leave for a couple of weeks from his pastoral duties." The statement said Pfleger "does not believe this to be the right step at this time." "While respecting his disagreement, I have nevertheless asked him to use this opportunity to reflect on his recent statements and actions in the light of the Church's regulations for all Catholic priests," George said.

The modern equivalent of sending him to a monastery w/ a vow of silence.

Snuffy Thinks We're All the NRA

Father 'Snuffy' Pfleger, who threatened the lives of firearm dealers, is likely to be moved from his parish. So he blames the NRA.

For the past couple years, he said he has been the target of petitions and letter-writing campaigns by the National Rifle Association. Letters are often copied to the cardinal, Pfleger said.

“The NRA … says I’ve been much too vocal about assault weapons and much too vocal about guns being registered and being accountable to gun owners,” Pfleger said on the radio. “So all that combined and I guess the cardinal didn’t have anything to do one morning and decided he wanted to get rid of me again.”

His bosses disagree:

Through a spokeswoman, George said he has never received a letter from the NRA or spoken to anyone from the organization about Pfleger. However, he does hear all kinds of opinions from parishioners, spokeswoman Colleen Dolan said.

Snuffy is another one of those that think all things firearm are controlled and arranged by the NRA. Just like he protested against the NRA at a rally that was not affiliated w/ them.

What's really frightening is the diocese wants him to work at a High School.

Shooting at "Snuffy" Pfleger's Church

Two people were wounded in a shooting this evening near St. Sabina Church in the South Side's Auburn Gresham community, authorities said.

The teen boys had been inside the gym as part of a youth sports program when they stepped outside and began arguing with someone in a brown van, said Roderick Drew, Chicago police spokesman.

Hmm. Nothing suspicious there.

He could not provide a description of the shooter.

Because none of the 'victims' will provide one, I'm sure.

Pfleger said he was offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.

Seems you need to talk to your parishioners Snuffy.

I'm sure these were just a couple of 'good boys' who've never done anything wrong before and get straight A's in school.

Contract on America

Armed and Safe notes that our favorite Reverend, "Snuffy" Pfleger, has put a $5000 bounty on what he describes as "Gun Runners". Being that he considers anyone in the firearm business as a "Gun Runner", one wonders how many bounties he will have to pay out.

As usual, he's put the cart before the horse. To wit:

"We have to create an atmosphere where people are afraid to do crimes because they understand the community sees them as an enemy. Until we create that, people think they can get by with it. It's not acceptable," said Fr. Michael Pfleger, St. Sabina Church.

Here's the thing Snuff. The real criminals you want the community to see as the enemy are part of the community. They are the sons, daughters, friends, uncles, etc. of the people who are not turning them in now. The 'community' is wearing "Stop Snitchin' " shirts in courtrooms to keep people from testifying. The 'community' is telling the police they didn't see a thing when crimes are committed on their streets. They're not going to start turning them in because you've offered them a measly five grand. That's not worth their life. Really. Look at how many mothers you see on TV crying out about their "good boys" being killed when they were lifelong criminals with a record a mile long?

Be honest w/ yourself. You're not going to go after "gun runners", "straw purchasers", or anyone else who is committing actual crimes in your 'community'. You're going to continue to harass legitimate businesses and haranguing about the evils of guns. Just like your buddy Rev. Jackson.

Rev. "Snuffy" Pfleger threatens IL residents and legislators

"It’s the downstate that have refused to give us the votes to common sense gun laws. So what we’re saying is, ‘Ok. We’re gonna start disrupting your life like gun violence is disrupting our life.' And that’s here at their businesses and that’s coming to their homes. And we’re prepared to go to the legislators homes and visit them."

'Snuffy' Pfleger Fails

You know that a person's 'jumped the shark' when they believe that a plastic water gun in the shape of a fish will lead to a life of crime.

That's the latest crusade by wingnut Father 'Snuffy' Phleger of St. Sabina's church in Chicago. Noone else is paying attention to him so maybe if gets completely ridiculous, he can get his name in the paper again.

Here's the truth behind it:

The Kmart baskets were brought to his attention by community members, Pfleger said, the same week that saw several shootings citywide and a 22-year-old shot and killed in the middle of the day in the White Castle’s parking lot in Auburn-Gresham

Note that the 'community members' aren't bringing the names of the shooters, drug-dealers, gang-bangers and other criminals in the community. It's much safer for them to 'crusade' against toys than real violence.

The Rev. Jackson couldn't be bothered this time (it's not garnering enough attention nowadays) but Micheal "Snuffy"Pfleger attended. Apparently it's an infringement for the Gov't to ask for a fee to "peaceably assemble" but it's perfectly fine w/ completely restricting other rights:

"We are not paying money to gather in a peaceful assembly," he said. "If they don't want us there, they should vote Riverdale gun-free."

Riverdale should fine Pfleger but of course they won't. It's so much easier to go to a safe neighborhood to march than to try and protest in the areas controlled by the gangs. You know, the ones that are committing the crimes w/ guns.

Snuffy breaks the 9th Commandment

"I apologize for anyone who was offended and thought it to be mockery. that was neither my intent not was it my heart," Pfleger said.

Really Snuff? You didn't mean to "mock" or "offend" when you said:

"I really don't believe it was put on. I always thought she felt 'This is mine. I'm Bill's wife. I'm white. And this is mine. I just got to get up and step into the plate,'" he said. "And then out of nowhere came, 'Hey, I'm Barack Obama.' And she said, 'Oh damn, where did you come from? I'm white. I'm entitled. There's a black man stealing my show.'"

Pfleger then proceeded to pretend to cry in a dramatization that included a handkerchief.

"She wasn't the only one crying. There was a whole lot of white people crying," he said.

You didn't intend to imply that she and many of her supporters are racists? Is that just the same kind of "dramatics" as calling for shop owners and legislators to be dragged out and "snuffed"? Are Klan members just being "dramatic" when they call for lynchings or refer to "darkies"? Or is that different?

Ignoring the Violence, Blaming the Gun

Joyce Foundation puppet group ICHV highlights a video by the anti-gun Sun Times.  It's about Carolyn Murray, an 'Anti-Violence' advocate in Evanston, IL whose son was killed in a shooting. She seems to have done pretty much everything right. He son was attending school and didn't seem to have a history of crime. 

Unfortunately that didn't extend to other members of the family. At least one branch of the family were gangbangers involved in a violent feud w/ another gang.  Her son hung out w/ them.

As the trial continued in Skokie, Justin Murray was fatally shot Nov. 29 in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue. Murray, 20, was reportedly a distant cousin of defendant John Bamberg Jr. and Parrott confirmed that Murray "hung out" with Bamberg affiliates...

Police investigating Murray’s murder said it was connected to the bitter family feud, although it’s still unclear whether or not Murray was the specific target in the shooting.

So instead of providing information on the families involved, she instead primarily blames the guns, setting up 'gun buybacks' and working w/ hardcore anti-gun fanatics Fr. Snuffy Pfleger, Rep Jan Schakowsky and the ICHV.

So again, here's my challenge:

Sure, I'll support more gun laws for you, as soon as you and your associates write the names of every family member and neighbor that belongs to a gang and has a gun hidden on a sheet of paper. Let me know when you're done and we'll hold a joint press conference to name names and start to really bring the cycle of violence to an end.

It has nothing to do w/ the guns and everything to do w/ the people.

RaceBaiters At It Again

Did you know that breaking clearly set rules for baseball isn't the fault of the coach or managers but instead the fault of the rules themselves because they're 'racist'?

Yeah. A little league team from Chicago uses players from outside their district, get caught and have their title pulled.  It's not the fault of the ones who recruited the kids, it's Little League's fault because they hate black people. 

And of course the usual suspects have to get their faces in front of the camera:

Rev. Jesse Jackson said the South Siders are also the victims of a “wholesale attack” on their integrity. “Is this about boundaries,” he asked, “or race?”

“Are you telling me that the same kind of obsession of stalking, going over this for months, would have happened — would have been done — if the Las Vegas team had won?” Pfleger said. “I’m sorry. I live in America. Maybe I’m tainted by that. But I believe that. And I believe that racism is in the midst of this thing.”

Sorry kids, your coaches cheated and you're getting punished for it. That's the long and short of it.  Instead though, all the enabling adults around you are telling you to hate white people and that you're a perpetual victim because you're black.

Poor Snuffy

He's getting hate mail over his support for banning guns and he and his palls, Sen. Dicky Durbin, Chicago Sup. "Streetlight" McCarty, and Rhambo Emanual don't understand why.

Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Catholic Church — one of the city’s largest African-American churches, said: “Sen. Dick Durbin was at our church Sunday for service and he was talking about how bizarre this all is.

“Even the mayor and [Police Supt. Garry] McCarthy called about their concern,” he added.

Amazing, isn't it?  You do everything you can to strip people of their rights and those people get upset about it.  Who whudda figured?

'Snuffy' Phleger's Anger Management Issues

As he inflames racial tensions in Chicago:

"Go to hell Angelo! How dare you tell police to not do overtime and make our streets less safe with less officers. We're already short of police officers." Pfleger said.

Yep, It's the police's fault that the streets are 'less safe', not the actions of the violent criminals that Snuffy and his ilk have been enabling for years. 

No wonder he's anti-gun. 

Yeah, he supports the Second Amendment

Which is why Barack "El Duce" Obama now has Rev. Michael "Snuffy" Pfleger as an advisor. You remember him, right? The same one who called for people to drag firearm dealers and pro-rights legislators out into the streets and "snuff" them?

I'ld hate to see who forms his cabinet if he becomes president. Mugabe maybe? Farrakan? Gotti?

Snuffy Faces the Consequences.

That obnoxious turd Father 'Snuffy' Pfleger has been suspended from his church for being, well, an obnoxious turd.

This, for newer or non-Illinois readers, is the Priest who threatened to 'snuff out' an FFL dealer while protesting w/ Jessie Jackson (who later moved onto more media grabbing pastures).

Actions have consequences. And all we hear from the gun ban advocates are apologetics "He didn't 'really' mean that".

Hopefully this time it will be permanent.
