9mm PMC Ammo Test via AmmoEasy

I was asked by an online distibutor 'AmmoEasy' to do an ammo review for their site and they graciously sent me a box of 9mm PMC 115gr FMJ for testing.  Customer service and shipping were fast and efficient. Prices look good.

I am about as close to an average shooter as one can get w/ a handgun so this review is for the mediocre shots among us. Baretta 92S. RH shooter w/ left eye dominant. Weather was a nice, cool 55F, overcast w/ no breeze.  Range approx 10yrds.

First shots were started 'cold' at center mass:

After I was warmed up a bit, I moved to cranium:

Followed up by some alternative targets.  My nemesis, hedge apples:

and an old, steel pressure tank:

I had zero jams or misfires. Accuracy was on par w/ my abilities and penetration was good.  Angled shots and those farther than 10 yrds didn't penetrate the tank but dented it heavily. Straight on went in.  The hedge apples exploded nicely. As with most PMC ammo, this is a good, inexpensive, general purpose round. I wouldn't use it for high accuracy competitions but for plinking, practice, and home defense, it does its job.

A 9mm Samm'ich? UPDATE

The STL shooting?  The one where another 'good boy', 'unarmed', 'honor student' was gunned down by a white police officer in a fit of racist rage?

Yeah, you know the drill.  Shot at the cops.  Supposed to be on house arrest for a rap sheet a mile long (for weapons offenses) completely enabled by the family:
the aunt of the perforated suspect cried out, “They shot my Drew 16 times!  All he had was a sandwich!”
Might it have looked like this?

The family must be on a heavy iron & copper diet.  Totally legit, right?  Noone could possibly get the two confused. But hey, any excuse to trash your own neighborhood and steal stuff.

Update: Here's my conspiracy hypothesis.  I'm wondering if the statement was staged to create a symbol.  After the Travon shooting, they had Skittles and  tea.  After the Ferguson shooting, they had their 'hands up'.  Now I'll lay odds that the " thousands of activists and protesters from around the country" are going to be running around w/ sandwiches held high.  Jesse and Sharpton will be there.

And not a single one will say anything about the dozens of African Americans that will be shot this weekend in Chicago by other AA's.

Quality Parenting

Where do some teen gang members get their guns?  Why from their moms, who drive them to the shooting:
A Utah woman is accused of driving her teenage son by a convenience store to shoot at rival gang members he had been fighting with at school.
Prosecutors say Lisa Egersdorf picked up her 17-year-old son from his Salt Lake City school and was behind the wheel when he fired several shots at the group.
Charging documents show she asked, "Did you get them?" after he fired at their car. No one was hurt in the Sept. 22 drive-by shooting.
Just one more law... Right?

Anti's and Fake Military Claims

Via GSL, there is a discussion over the POS that SWAT'ted John Crawford.  This piece from the linked article caught my eye:
Ritchie told several reporters after the 5 August shooting that he was an “ex-marine”. When confronted with his seven-week service record, however, he confirmed that he had been quickly thrown out of the US marine corps in 2008 after being declared a “fraudulent enlistment”, over what he maintains was simply a mixup over his paperwork.
So he lied about his military service to give his (potential) criminal actions some credibility.

Well that got the memory tingling.  Seemed I recalled another anti, who went much more mainstream, that claimed to have served in the military to bolster his credibility.
I have exercised my Second Amendment rights numerous times through hunting, going to the range, and I was in the Army for two years.
These were the words of professional victim Colin Goddard who's 'Army service' was some non-contracted time in college ROTC, about as close to actually being in the Army as being a Boy Scout is.

Ironically enough, while making fake claims of being a soldier, using the other fork of the tongue he denigrated military personnel.
Taking part in ROTC gave him second thoughts about the military.
"He said, 'I don't want people to follow me because I frighten them.' He said, 'I want people to follow me because of the example I set,' " Andrew Goddard said.
So just another anti who is incapable of telling the truth.  I wonder if the CSGV or Brady Campaign will hire Ronald Ritchie as their next spokesman.

Not The Right Kind of 'Mom'

While Ladd Everitt and his merry band of misfits post a video responding to 'mean tweets' they've received, these are the kinds of messages their supporters send to a woman and mother who doesn't support their life choice of defenselessness.
“You want to kill everything!” “You are a child killer!” “You need to carry because you aren’t smart enough to handle conflict!” “You’re so uneducated and stupid, guns are NOT the answer!” “You çµΩt – I hope your trailer park husband beats you in front of your 12 children, what did you do, get knocked up in high school and the Bible never told you to shut your whoring legs?!”
I joke, but all of these accusations and assumptions have been hurled at me. People have said they hope I ‘accidently’ shoot my children. That I should be shot. That my parents should have aborted me. After speaking out against the beheading in Oklahoma, I was targeted by a muslim who wrote ‘I hope your neck does not tire of my knife.’
Remember though, these kinds of threats and insults are 'different' because pro-rights advocates want to arm all children and are directly responsible for massacres.

And they wonder why we carry.

Camo Score!!

It's nice to know people.  Today, following the loss of FTF, I did get some good news.  A friend of mine gave me several pieces of US Navy 'AOR2' (Naval Working Uniform Type III) camo, the pattern used by Special Warfare and Seabees.

A MICH style helmet cover and an 8-point cover.  Actual surplus (not-repop) of this is uncommon to come across so I was as happy as a kid on Xmas when I got it.

Thanks again to that effing PE teacher.

Cultural Exchange

Apparently we're getting the 'culture' from Chicagoland and collar counties:
CHARLESTON (JG-TC) -- Police have made three arrests for possession of stolen property in connection with a reported home invasion and sexual assault Tuesday evening.
The Charleston Police Department reported that Jehari J. Butler, 18, of Richton Park; Gabriel F. Teat, 18, of Chicago; and Deshawn M. Duncan, 20 of Park Forest were all arrested Wednesday evening on stolen property charges. Teat also was arrested on charges of obstructing justice and retail theft.
There have been numerous instances of Chicago area teens/young adults coming down to Central Illinois and livening things up, the most known being a 'barn party' organized by a Chicago business that ended up in a shooting.

Not entirely surprising when you see headlines like this near every weekend.
At least three people have been killed and 26 others wounded in shootings across Chicago since Friday evening.
Now the question is raised. Where did they get the guns? Did they have valid FOID's?  Did a friend/family member buy them for them? Were they EIU students?  Past criminal history?

More info and some pics of these wonders of humanity at GSL.
