No Such Thing As A Law-Abiding Gun Owner

We're all just psychotic breakdowns waiting to happen.

“You can be perfectly law-abiding one moment,” said Ms. Gunn-Barrett during the debate, “and then the next moment you can be a criminal and do something criminal and wrong, like shoot up a movie theater, or kill your spouse during an argument.” Regulation of people and behavior is needed, she said, “to protect us against our own stupidity and our own irrationality.”
So not only is this what this proffessional anti-gun advocate thinks of firearm owners but 'people' in general.  We NEED to be regulated by some all-powerful big brother government for our own good (nevermind the stupidity and irrationality of those same people making the regulations) or we're going to go running off raping, murdering, and pillaging.  Seriously.  Are ALL these people mental children?

We don't fit in their little utopia, so we must be punished... sigh

It's times like this that I like to turn their logic around on them and say that by their reasoning, they are a rapist (if male) or a prostitute (if female) just waiting to happen. I mean, they have the equipment for it...

I wonder how she would feel if she were taken into custody "for her own safety and that of society" since she clearly is a danger to society and not capable of rational interaction.

Regulation of people and behavior is needed, she said,

You mean Ma'am; like criminal laws against Murder, Assault, rape -- those type of regulations?

It is very telling that they have to act as if no other law, no other regulation, no morality governs people's behavior already.

And it is a sign of their warped reality that they think just one more law or regulation will stop the crimes.

someone should introduce this harpy to the concept called "projection".

SHE may be ready to snap, the rest of us, not so much.

I recall a column by Massad Ayoob from the 80's that had the best reply. (Paraphased) "Mr. Antigunner, are YOU capable of killing your spouse in a domestic arguement?" If answer is yes, your reply is "stop advising us and seek professiona help," is no than "How dare you imply the rest of us would!"

I might just decide to drive my F250 through a crowd tomorrow!

I mean, I've never wanted to and have no slightest inkling of mental derangement, but it could happen!

Why am I allowed to own this deadly murder-machine?
