Do what you know
Sorry I haven’t been on top of all this mass shooting business but I’ve been busy trying to get a raise at work. I’ve been riding my boss hard for months now trying to show him how important I am and how the business will absolutely fail without me being all fat and happy.
I just don’t know why I’m failing, but this time, this time will be different.
Kaveman: Hey boss-man, I’ve given you an “F” in the “giving out raises” department, and I cc’d the CEO.
Boss: Ya, I saw that kave.
Kaveman: I also started a Facebook page dedicated to calling you a poopy-head until you give me what I want.
Boss: Uh, do you really think that’s going to work?
Kaveman: It’s got to work eventually, right?
Boss: Kave, you’ve been calling me a poopy-head to my face for over a year now and so far, ignoring you seems to work after a week or so, your FB page is even easier to ignore that you in person.
Kaveman: What if I start using capitol letters on FB when I call you a POOPY-HEAD?
Boss: You’re not listening, Kave.
Kaveman: Then perhaps you could explain it to me if you’re not too busy exploiting pregnant slave children to make your widgets which fuel your coke and hooker habit?
Boss: Kave, you keep doing the same thing over and over…and it’s not working. I keep ignoring you which DOES achieve the results which I want. Now it’s to the point that even if you change course this very instant, my default will be to always ignore you, even if you have something useful to contribute.
Kaveman: I don’t understand.
Boss: That’s why I’m the boss.
Kaveman: Well, if I can’t have a raise, can I at least take this Friday off.
Boss: Sure thing Buddy, got anything special planned?
Kaveman: Well, my neighbor’s dog keeps coming over into my yard and eating my chickens, so I was going to light a candle and walk around in a big circle to see if that’ll make him stop.
Boss: Sounds good Kave, see ya on Monday.
The Stupidity Of Gun Control Legislation
Under Gov. Quinn's new AWB, this rifle is illegal:
as well as this one:
But this one is perfectly legal:*
Again, gun control legislation rarely is based off of functionality or performance but instead the scary or 'ick' factor.

In light of the Sikh Temple shooting, one needs to see what goes on in the minds and offices of gun control groups when events like this occur.
Back in Feb. Sebastian TBFKASIH made this statement about the 'memorial' site set up for the Chardon school shooting:
For anyone who continues to delude themselves that 'gun control' has anything to do w/ increasing safety or keeping guns out of the hands of criminals or the insane, shove this in their faces. Watch them dance around and try and make excuses.
THIS is 'gun control activism' in action and what is going on right now in their various, mostly Joyce Foundation funded, offices.
Back in Feb. Sebastian TBFKASIH made this statement about the 'memorial' site set up for the Chardon school shooting:
the information they are asking for is valuable, and is meant to build up a list. While I can’t make any connection between this registrant and gun control groups, I would not be a bit surprised to find out these names will be going straight to a gun control organization. As I posted here about the collected email addresses being sent to MAIG, Seb. nailed it. Reading through the emails, the entire discussion (pdf warning) was how to take advantage of it politically. From which legislation they could effectively connect to the tragedy to which one of them would handle interviews to trying to get inside information to take advantage of:
it may still make sense to talk about guns on college campus in the wake of this shooting. You could still make the case that it’s a bad idea at colleges and universities .
Is someone talking to Elizabeth Flock at the Washington Post? Her article inaccurately states that Ohio law requires a background check for gun sales. Let us know
if we need to run interference – Mark Glaze could handle.
my nephew is a Chardon police officer. He's been keeping me in the loop. It appears a second victim may have died this afternoon. Awaiting confirmation from my nephew.
I’m not necessarily opposed to trying to connect the two for messaging purposes – just want to make sure we have our facts straight. Inthe meantime, I totally agree that today is a good time for condolence page.
im making a website right now for condolences and then we're going to add a guns on campus component later this week. Not only were individuals in the email thread tax payer funded gov't employees of Columbus and NYC, it wasn't limited to just these 4 or 5 people. Within hours that Ladd Everitt of the CSGV was calling gun owners 'despicable' for trying to 'score points', he was receiving emails from this thread promoting the website and encouraging activism.
Here is the site where we will collect words of sympathy for the students, families & community of Chardon High School. It is live now. By tomorrow we will start aThis is how much they care about 'gun violence'. So much that they revel in being able to obtain new email address to beg for money from and new names they can weep crocodile tears over.
blog that features the best comments and has a little bit of news on the shootings.

Please push this out to your networks however possible. We would like to see it go viral.

IL Gov Gun Ban Update
To continue the post from here, I just love this line in his bill:
Just more PuSH'er stupidity.
Anywhoo, the real meat of the matter is this. They will be going into special session on the 17th. They have 15 days to deal w/ it or it dies which means that the instate mailorder ammo bill would die w/ it. On the other hand, if it does die, legal challenges become possible because from what I've been informed, the Il Gov. does not have the constitutional power/authority to add unrelated legislation to his vetos.
Start calling your legislators. Join the ISRA. Support your local FFL's and ranges. and REMEMBER THIS when it comes time to vote.
There is no place in the State of Illinois for weapons designed to rapidly fire at human targets at close range.Yet it is immediately preceded by:
The ban would not pertain to law enforcement officials or members of the military. So it's OK for the police to have 'weapons designed to rapidly fire at human targets at close range'? Why would they need such a deadly device?
Just more PuSH'er stupidity.

Youth and New Shooter Report
Sister and her family came for the 4thpower's Bday party and to take mom back home. This morning before they left, I took my nephew out for a little range time. He's been shooting here before so we worked on some technique. He likes shooting airsoft and has a fancy-schmancy 'sniper' rifle for it so he's got some pretty good basics. The niece was down last week so she didn't come out w/ us.
RIA 1911a1
Ruger 10/22 (note proper use of 1907 sling)
NDM-86 (Dragunov)
Later when my sister and BIL came back from the hotel they stayed at she convinced him to go down to the range w/ me. He shot a gun sometime in the distant past at some carnival but they're 'not his thing'. He decided to give it a go though. Chose the AK.
First round. 'Oh Sh!t!!, Well now I know what I'm up against." Once he understood the concept of recoil, he did pretty well, taking down cups at about 30m. Not bad for a newby standing.
Guns still aren't his thing but now he'll understand a bit more when he sees nonsense in the papers.
Unfortunately mom didn't want to come out for her annual training. Too hot by mid morning for her.

Better Than You
Via Weer'd comes this video of some 'Gentlemen' saying what they really think about firearms, firearm owners and the NRA.
Even outside of the lack of knowledge of firearms or the shooting culture, just listen to the sneering, smarmy, holier-than-thou attitude they exude as they tell you how stupid and uncultured you are for daring to enjoy or own something they disagree with.
This is the kind of video we need to spread far and wide to firearm owners to remind them what is really on the minds of gun control advocates when they talk about 'safety and common-sense'.

Think 'gun control' isn't above using a tragedy to promote their political agenda?
MAIG/OCSGV related email chain after the Ohio Chardon school shooting:
They 'need' tragedies like school and movie shootings to even try and push their agenda even though most of these kinds of events occur in places where all their 'common-sense' laws are in place (ie 'Gun Free' Zones). Remember that next time you hear one of them try and blame the NRA or gun owners.
MAIG/OCSGV related email chain after the Ohio Chardon school shooting:
“I hope that we can do some rapid response,” Orchid wrote. “Perhaps this is the perfect time to push out the new microsite petition around guns on campus.”And the 'tribute' site set up by lefty group 'ProgressOhio'?
“New email acquisitions will be shared with Mayors Against Illegal Guns and a small subset of these names will be shared with OCSGV [Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence].”Isn't that special?

Surviving an Assault: Illinois vs Texas
In Illinois, the ISP advised women who were being attacked to make themselves vomit
because "Fighting would probably be futile".
In Texas, the City of Houston put up an informational video on how improvise weapons in order to attack an assailant.
Which state do you think really cares about protecting citizens and reducing crime?
