Det. Joseph Bielevicz. Ignorant or Lying?

In the days before 65,000 attendees arrive in Pittsburg for the NRA Annual Meeting, the usual hit pieces are coming out. This one by a City Detective pushing the old meme that the NRA wants to arm criminals. Unfortunately for him though, in his long winded attack, he makes a (at least one) glaring error:
Do you, as a resident of Pennsylvania, want to know how many guns were recovered and traced last year in your state? That's easy -- just gather the chiefs of Pennsylvania's 1,150-odd police departments in a big room and have them cobble together the trace data from their respective agencies.

Want a breakdown of how many handguns, shotguns and rifles were recovered? Ditto. Because, while the NRA is understandably against releasing individual gun owners' names, it also opposes the public dissemination of even the most basic statistical data on gun recoveries.
Apparently this 'Detective' of 18yrs is either lying or is completely ignorant of this thing called the internet. Let's help him out. Here detective. Using this magical tool called the 'internet', I went to www.atf.gov. From there I typed in 'search' "Trace Data". It took me there. Then I clicked on 2009 and Pennsylvania.

There ya' go Detective. Took me a whopping 2 minutes, and that only because I had to get up and let the dog out.

So why didn't you mention that? Are you honestly clueless about simple resources like that or are you deliberately lying and using your job title as stump to publish 4 pages of nonsense and ad hominem character attacks.

Here's an idea. Do your damn job.

But looking at your history of pushing for gun control laws, you're more interested in spreading the usual BS than solving crimes.

Bitter has more on this ignorant hit piece over at SIH.

How many innocent children have you lost from guns in the wrong hands? How many children have you helped or visited in a hospital that have been injured due to guns in the wrong hands? How many female relatives have lost or watch suffer from an idiot with a gun who raped them by gun point? Like most people unless it happens to you or someone you love, you really do not care!

But we do care Mr/Ms Bravely Anonymous. We just think that safety training, education and actually incarcerating criminals would go farther than trying to take the guns out of the hands out of the 80 million people who do NOT commit crimes every year w/ guns.

It is obvious you are clearly uneducated and haven't a clue how these guns end up in the wrong hands. If incarcerating criminals goes so far then let me ask you this oh wise one. Why are we letting them out of prison to once again commit more crimes and harm innocent children and adults? Any ex con can get a gun out in the street off of Craigslist on go to another state and get one, hell even idiots over the net will sell them to. Are they going thru a background check when they purchase them this way? No their not cause the person selling them to the ex con doesn't give a shit if they shoot up your family they just want the money. Live a little and see how the real world operates you must be in lala land if you think this shit don't happen!

Another 'Bravely Anonymous' making a drive by attack. How nice.

Let's go over your piece bit by bit, shall we?

"It is obvious you are clearly uneducated"

A character attack. What a good way to start a discussion.

and haven't a clue how these guns end up in the wrong hands.

Really? Primarily through the hands of criminals. (note that word)

"If incarcerating criminals goes so far then let me ask you this oh wise one. Why are we letting them out of prison to once again commit more crimes and harm innocent children and adults?"

Because the so-called 'justice system' is more concerned w/ plea bargains and 3 drink lunches than actually helping society by putting away violent criminals. You don't seem to mind violent criminals as long as they don't have a gun.

"Any ex con can get a gun out in the street off of Craigslist on go to another state and get one, hell even idiots over the net will sell them to."

Craigslist has a "No Gun" policy. http://daysofourtrailers.blogspot.com/2007/10/craigslist-guns-bad-hookers-ok.html And to purchase a firearm over the net still requires it to go through an FFL. 'Going to another state' is a federal felony. So who 'hasn't got a clue'?

"Are they going thru a background check when they purchase them this way? No their not cause the person selling them to the ex con doesn't give a shit if they shoot up your family they just want the money."

So making another law that criminals 'don't give a sh!t' about will stop crime? You make my point for me.

"Live a little and see how the real world operates you must be in lala land if you think this shit don't happen! "

I do live in the real world and am quite familiar w/ what happens. You, however, Mr. Bravely Anonymous, don't seem to have any clue as to what the laws are. And I know it happens. That's why I work to make sure people can defend themselves while individuals like yourself prefer to remain victims.
