More Commie Gear

My Xmas swag arrived to be added to my early Cold War E. German uniform.

The belt I had was W. German so I found a deal on a bunch of them and I needed a bread bag.

One interesting thing about this stuff is for years, both E & W Germany used almost identical field gear to what the Wehrmacht used during WWII, in some instances just filing off/painting over the swastikas and reissuing it. I have some binoculars they did this to.
This E. German bread bag is the exact same except for color (light gray instead of field gray/tanish) and the belt is similar to a late war Wehrmacht web belt except again for the color and the logo on the buckle.

I like the East German rain pattern camo. Every time I see it, it reminds me that they lost the Cold War and the Berlin Wall came down. The impossible obstinacy that was that Wall was dissolved in a victory for freedom. Kind of like the Supreme Court ruling that the Second Amendment is an individual right. That was something good that was a long time not happening too.
The Wall came down and the right to keep and bear arms affirmed, and I lived to see both happen. Love that rain pattern camo.
