The Stupid....It Burns

I avoid places like Huffpo, Yahoo, and Youtube message boards due the the 4chan-esque level of discourse that occurs there, and yes, that's an insult to 4chan.  I still have an inkling, though, to browse the 1 star reviews on Amazon for things I purchase. 

For one of my history classes, I picked up one of my favorite WWI movies, Joyeux Noel, and, unfortunately I read the reviews. Most of them are about region or subtitle issues but this one took the cake:

Maybe about 10 minutes is about all we could stomache of this one. I had hoped we were getting a good Christmas movie. The unnecessarily foul content in just the opening took out the desire to find out how good it might have been...and the kids weren't even in the room!
There's a lot of great family/Christian Christmas movies out there like "Truce in the Forest", "House without a Christmas Tree", "It's a Wonderful Life", "Bishops Wife", "The Christmas Box", "Christmas Eve", "Midnight Clear", "A Christmas Visitor" etc...so people don't have to waste their time & money on trash like this.

No-one could figure out what this person was talking about until he dug his hole a little deeper by explaining:

The offensive material I was refering to is the passionate kiss on the mouth of one man to his dying comrade. Very sickening & unnecessary.

The scene (nowhere in the 1st 10 min btw) where a brother came upon his sibling dying and kissed him was a 'passionate kiss on the mouth'?  IOW, this person never watched the movie, was told about the scene from some anti-gay zealot, and decided to post a 'review'.

But the stupidity didn't stop there.  Some other jack-wagon decided to post an anti-US/NRA/gun/religion rant:

As for anything changing, you only have to look as far as the NRA in America for the lingering on of the dinosaur existence. Of course the answer to Americans using guns to massacre the innocents is to just throw in more guns?

With logic like that and its extension into foreign policy, the world is doomed.
And yet it would appear no one can change this, .....and avoid being shot...!!!

As for the current question of the guns, yes if they were suddenly no longer available I guess crackpots would manage to find another way, BUT it would take them a damn side longer and a lot more organisation. Having a high-powered, rapid firing assault rifle so conveniently right to hand makes it so much easier to just grab it and go while in possession of the emotional heat of the moment. If it took longer to arrange a mass murder by some other means, things may just have cooled down a little.

This individual is allegedly an Australian who obviously has never touched a firearm in his life and knows anything about them nor the US.  I wonder how he feels now that his own politicos are lamenting the fact that Aussies aren't allowed to defend themselves?

I need some aspirin.

Not So Safe Passages

Remember those 'Safe Passages' that Chicago established to get kids to school?  Well apparently they weren't getting Rahm the number of votes he was hoping for. According to SCC:

Did you know that Rahm/Garry stopped manning the Safe Passage routes with HQ police officers over a week ago?

I'm sure those crossing guards will keep the thugs away now.

An Aussie politico laments that they went 'too far' in stripping people of the ability to defend themselves in banning not only guns but every available tool of active and passive self defense. 

Well, to tell the truth, they did it to themselves.  They took a rare but tragic occurrence and gave the Statists everything they wanted, a passive, defenseless populace. He even says it himself "Only an authoritarian society would treat its people like helpless victims, with the government masquerading as some kind of guardian angel."

Maybe more Australians should have thought ahead before they started overwhelmingly supporting these measures and not waited until a bunch of nutballs started trying to cut their heads off before deciding to try and get their rights back.

They've got a long and arduous fight ahead of them.  Good Luck. Let this be a lesson to not only Australia but everyone who has their own nanny-state wannabe's demanding gun control.

Chicago's Weekend Tally

Apparently there was a convoy of pickup trucks filled w/ NRA members that arrived in Chicago over the weekend:

The shooting capped a weekend that saw a return to summer levels of violence: Three people killed and 30 wounded.

No Jackson, no Sharpton, no Holder, Obama, Gross, Watts, or Bloomberg. Instead they're all busy trying to incite more race riots or shut down federally licensed firearm dealers.  Trying to convince scum like these to stop the killing or convince the family/friends of said scum doesn't generate headlines or bring in donations from low information voters.

It might actually be dangerous. I guess that's why they all travel around w/ armed security.

No Holder or Obama talking about 'If I had a son'.

No CSGV, Brady Campaign, Or Bloomberg's Mommies carrying signs in front of the homes of the offenders. 

What am I talking about? 

About a month ago, a 9yr old boy was murdered in Chicago execution style. After a while, neighbors did start helping police w/ information which has led to the arrest of multiple individuals but only after one of the criminals, the ringleader, had already started singing after being arrested on another weapons charge.



All four known gang bangers w/ a history of violence and crime. The alleged shooter was out on parole after serving half his term on a 3 1/2yr weapons charge.  They were out cruising the streets looking for a rival gang banger to shoot when they decided in their diseased minds the boy was acting as a lookout and shot him over and over.  The gun used was a community gun that has supposedly been traced to numerous other shootings including a homicide.

While waiting for the witnesses to come forward, none of the 'big names' came forward.  There were no marches in the streets but there was one at a gun shop.  NBPP didn't bus in people to riot. 

Why?

Because they all knew who did it.

And so far over 2 dozen people shot in Chicago, almost every single one gang related.

Remember though, it's all the gun's fault.

Brady Campaign's Dan Gross Lies About The Other Guy

They are so desperate to claim any sort of success in their failing 'Bad Apples' campaign, they have resorted to flat out lying.  Not that that's really a surprise but when they try to take credit for an NSSF driven program, it's just truly pathetic. 

A fundraising email sent out by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence this morning and signed by the organization’s President Dan Gross is attempting to fundraise by claiming credit for sporting goods giant Cabela’s expanded participation a gun safety program started by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and the ATF more than a dozen years ago.

Cabela's joins the 'Don't Lie For The Other Guy' initiative weeks before Danny rolls out his Bad Apples but the Brady Campaign claims 'Victory'. 

These people are truly sad.
