That Slippery Slope

So when you hear anti-gun advocates claim we need 'reasonable' and 'common-sense' gun control such as licensing and registration so we can lower 'gun crime' like other 'first-world/industrialized/civilized' (or whatever the code phrase is this week) like Australia, what they're really saying is they just want one of the steps needed to reduce legal gun ownership.

Just like Australia:

The Police Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan says he agrees more needs to be done to reduce the number of licensed firearms in the community.

Why? Because they're continuing to blame legal firearm owners for the actions of criminals:

"It's firearms licence holders that in some ways are one of the main suppliers of black market firearms in Western Australia," he said.

Just like over here when they push for 'Safe Storage', mandatory reporting and CAP laws. They are saying YOU are responsible for criminals' actions and YOU will be punished for them stealing/misusing your property.

But I'm just a paranoid conspiracy theorist, right?
