Yes, NY Rep. Carolyn Maloney is This Stupid

In her argument against national reciprocity:
this travesty of a bill would make it legal for a known terrorist or child molester in Arizona to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon, buy a large-caliber gun and all the cop-killer bullets he could get his hands on, tuck them into his trenchcoat, and take a little trip to NYC -- maybe right to the middle of Times Square or down to Ground Zero.
And this person represents the nation. Anyone who believes something this outrageous deserves to be ridiculed. And the Brady Campaign endorses her.

Isn't being endorsed by the Brady Campaign pretty much the honor badge of ridicule?

Looking at her statemenmt it's like she tried to cram in as many talking points. It should be a drinking game, but then we'd all die of alcohol poisoning.

She missed one talking point. The person doing any sort of violent crime.

I know of a few people who mistakenly assumed if it wasn't legal for a free state to sell them a post-ban high-cap magazine, or a Mini-14 stock with an adjustable butt and a pistol grip, that a shop wouldn't do it.

Of course some kid in Massachusetts that converted a Mini-14 to an "Assault Weapon", or just stuffed round #12 into their S&W M&P40 doesn't really cause me any concern, except for their well being if the jackboots fall.

No different with a guy with some illegal high caps and maybe-maybe-not legal bullets in his gun (Does anybody actually know what a "Cop Killer Bullet" is?) doesn't raise me much ire.

Now if he pulls that gun and starts shooting...and even if the gun is a 9mm hi-point loaded to kosher FMJs, I hope I have my gun on me to stop him because I'd rather not wait for New York's finest to get there.

Because EVERYBODY knows that (1) Arizona gives permits to known terrorists and child molesters all the time!
(2) "Large Caliber" guns - which Arizona ALSO loves to sell to known terrorists and child-molesters - will kill you MUCH deader than other ones!
(3) Likewise for "cop-killer" bullets... I bet cops are glad when their state bans "cop killer bullets" because nothing else can kill them!
(4) Trenchcoats - guys who wear them are ALL known terrorists and child-molesters (it's how they're KNOWN, DUH!) - and they're all equipped with extra pockets for carrying extra cop-killer bullets!
(5) We're all SOOOOooooo lucky that this travesty of a bill isn't law - because the way things are NOW, known terrorists and child molesters are MAGICALLY PREVENTED from:
(a) Getting permits
(b) Getting large-caliber guns
(c) Getting cop-killer bullets
(d) Getting trench-coats
(e) Getting a ride to NYfC - ESPECIALLY times square or ground zero! But... If this bill passes, the cops will not be able to arrest any known terrorists or child molesters, not even if they buy illegal weapons and or ammo and use them to commit mass-murder in Times Square or ground zero!

The trenchcoat is the secret - it's like a "diplomatic tag" and (if this bill passes) will prevent the cops from stopping you no matter WHAT you do!

What a maroon!

I don't think the rest of the nation would shed many tears if New York City and the southern half of California sank into the sea some rainy night. It'd go a long way towards solving a lot of the problems we have in this country, too.
