SIH notes that Ladd Everitt of the CSGV is continuing his "NRA hates Unions" kick by linking to a 3 yr old article attempting (weakly) to connect the NRA to anti-union activities.
I just want to note that the "NRA Blacklist" and "Stop the NRA" websites linked in the article, once run by the Brady Campaign, are both defunct.
Have a nice day.

The idea that the NRA is somehow anti-union is ridiculous, the problem is that the unions are anti-NRA, because they sell out their gun owning, dues paying members by telling them to vote for anti-gun candidates! Now, THAT is a problem! My gun rights are far more important than getting some dirtbag, anti-gun politician elected because he's chummy with the president of the union. The unions need to do a better job of respecting their members' rights and that means respecting the fact that many of their members are also NRA members.
Except for perhaps in occupations protected from free market forces, such as teaching and other government workers, unions are pretty much a relic from the past. They lack the leverage in today's economy to offer members much more than lip service.
Unions were great in the boom times immediately following WWII, as they accomplished much for workers. A totally different environment faces contermporary workers. The heyday of the union is over. Many union supporter seem disillusioned in that respect.
Nonetheless, any union advocating an expansion of worker rights while allowing for restrictions in fundamental rights, such as the Second Amendnent, is anti-American in my opinion.
